President Barack Obama is on track to make North Carolina one of the most competitive states on the 2012 map, according to a new survey from the Democratic-leaning firm Public Policy Polling reported first in Morning Score.
Obama has a narrowly positive approval rating in the state, where he’s headed for a visit today: 49 percent of voters approve of his job performance, versus 47 percent who disapprove. Independents are evenly split on the president, with 47 percent rating him positively and 46 percent giving him negative reviews.

Obama has solid leads over all the Republican candidates except Mitt Romney, whom he edges by just 1 percentage point. The president is ahead of Tim Pawlenty by 7 points, Newt Gingrich by 10 points and Herman Cain by 11 points. He performs best against Sarah Palin, leading her by a 14-point margin.

In NC the problem is black people and a surging Hispanic population. The blacks will crawl over broken glass to vote for Hussein, and the GOP is losing Hispanics at such a rate that previously safe Republican districts and states will move more and more Democrat.
The real problem is there are not enough white people moving to the Republican party fast enough to overcome the exploding minority populations. Demographics in this country are changing rapidly and if we lose Hispanics at the rate we lose blacks, we will have a difficult time winning many states we once did well in.

Those who are “correcting” me when I said it wasn’t “too close” are not looking at the words “too close” of an election in the same way I am looking at it. I am not saying it was one sided or lopsided or any such thing. I was thinking of it as a clear win, not controversial.
Does anyone remember Florida in 2000? Or recounts where the GOP always lose, such as in the state of Washington and in the state of Minnesota, and where the vote is controversial and razor thin?
Obviously I was not clear in what I meant, and gave several of you a fun day of jumping on what I wrote. As my post #36 points out, conservatives in Wisconsin were bragging about a 12,000 vote victory in the Supreme Court race.
But I will give you this...you have the right to define “too close” anyway you want.
But so do I.
I remember being shocked, shocked that Obama won NC at all, and by a clear vote, back when it happened. So to me, I did not think of it as one of those nailbiters that go down in electoral history. That stuck with me, although I did not remember the exact number of 12,000.
Again, there was no need for a recount, that’s why you don’t remember it as being a nail biter.
If North Carolina had been the State to determine the Presidency, such as Florida in 2000, it would have been as widely remembered.
But it wasn’t. It was a “clear result” only due to the fact that there was no recount. It was a razor thin win, just like Missouri was a razor thin loss for him.
What you are going off of is the fact that there was no recount.
Public Policy Polling is OWNED and run by the DNC. It’s sole purpose is Democrat campaign propaganda in the form of demoralizing Republicans to encourage them to stay home, while aiding name recogntion of Dem. candidates.
The willing dupes in the media will report these numbers without question and without charge to the party.
Bingo, one free campaign ad per local newsroom in every outlet and newspaper in the state.
Mission accomplished.
OK, here’s the only way voter fraud can be really stopped. It is up all concerned citizens to become involved locally and become election workers and election judges, thus being able to be there personally when the votes are counted, blocking the vote-stealers from getting away with their nefarious plan,

I moved from Pennsylvania to North Carolina this past year and have been convincing the die hard O’Bummer supporters that he is destroying this country. I’ve managed to convert a few.
Makes me sick to see all the O’Bummer 2012 bumper stickers on the cars.
Obama won North Carolina in 2008 by some 14,000 votes out of around 4.3 million cast. Given the level of support he’s lost nationwide, I’d expect North Carolina to be out of his reach.
Ugh, Pat McCrory (facepalm). Never met a sales or hotel/motel tax to fund an arena, train line, or museum he didn’t like. There has to be someone in the NC GOP more conservative than him.
I just saw something about Obama leading every one but Romney in SOUTH Carolina. Needless to say I don’t buy it. Head to polls right now aren’t worth much. PPP polls aren’t worth much generally. This poll was of registered and not likely voters. How likely are many of those allegedly 3-1 Obama supporting under 30’s?
BTW PPP, 37% of NC whites voted for him and now only 25% approve of him? I’d call that a hell of a drop. Is PPP factoring in 100% black turnout to overcome that? ;d
It’s hard to imagine Obama doing better than he did in many if any states. And he won NC by a couple of eyelashes. I would be surprised if at worst it wasn’t a GOP win by a few points.
There are plenty who are more conservative than him. But not many who are better candidates. His 2008 campaign was possibly the best effort by a Republican gubernatorial candidate in NC history, even though he came up short.
Plus, he's a genuinely nice and honest person, as far as I can tell, which is incredibly rare in politics.
Obama only won North Carolina by 14,000 votes. There is no way he will carry NC this time around. The white guilt phase is over. The popular bumper sticker here is “If you voted for Obama in 2008 to prove you aren’t racist, then vote GOP in 2012 to prove you aren’t stupid!”
And registered voters too, not likely voters.

So all the Libs must feel that way because they WERE, or Still ARE -- RACISTS. They know it's wrong but they can't help it, that's how they were raised -- that they were superior and Blacks, Browns and Yellows were nothing, they were non-people.
That's the only way it makes sense. They're Racists. They know it. But they can't help it. So they vote for the person they hate and loathe out of guilt. But they're still the Racist they've always been, and always will be.
