North Carolina poised to defund Planned Parenthood after House votes to override veto

RALEIGH, June 15, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Just after midnight Monday night, House members of North Carolina’s General Assembly overrode a veto of a state budget that barred funding for Planned Parenthood, making the state poised to join several others that have cut off funding for America’s largest abortion provider.

The Greensboro News & Record reported that the Senate may vote as early as today, although it could postpone consideration until Thursday.

North Carolina Democrat Governor Bev Purdue vetoed the legislation that had been sent to her earlier this month by the General Assembly, which is dominated by Republicans.

“We think we’ve done something historic on several different levels,” said House Speaker Thom Tillis after the vote to override her veto.

In the wake of the override vote Wednesday morning, Planned Parenthood immediately asked supporters for donations and condemned the vote as opposing “lifesaving cancer screenings and birth control.”

“The continued misleading attacks on Planned Parenthood expose a cynical and coldhearted willingness to further a divisive political agenda even if it will deny women access to lifesaving preventive healthcare,” said Paige Johnson, Vice-President of Public Policy with Planned Parenthood of Central North Carolina, in a press release.

Johnson also said her organization is “considering all options” to defend itself, including a lawsuit.

Both Kansas and Indiana have passed measures to defund Planned Parenthood this year.

Freud would have a field day with the Planned Parenthood types, and their neurotic fixation with other people's genitals, particularly youngsters' genitalia. These Genital Grifters are sniffing around kids genitals in K-12 grades.

The corporate crooks at defunct Enron would love Planned Parenthood's Pump and Dump "genital synergy" business model. In PP's chain of clean, state-approved abortion chambers, these oddball genital sniffers, dispose of its family planning flops. Taxpayers are then duped into coughing up more tax dollars to fund Planned Parenthood's creepy preoccupation with our genitalia.

The oddball Planned Parenthood organization sucks up huge amounts of tax dollars. Planned Parenthood is a billion dollar business that rakes in 1/3 of its budget from state and federal govt grants---tax dollars----and is committing massive govt fraud. In the state of NJ alone, the US Inspector General found that NJ PP falsified Medicaid claims to get their hands on $2.9 million tax dollars they were not entitled to.

Kathy Ireland: “I think Planned Parenthood needs to reassess and look at what their values are, what their mission is, what their goals are, and do they deserve government funding?
