Google denies special deal for Barack Obama
Politico ^ | 6/15/11 | Ben Smith and Byron Tau

Google denied Wednesday that it gave President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign special access to a new advertising program, something a sales representative from the search and advertising giant had claimed in an email to customers.

Wouldn’t surprise me a bit. Who’s going to punish them, after all? The FCC? LOL.

Please explain to me how harvesting a portion of free energy is “highly inefficient”?

It’s non-trivial that Google doesn’t honor D-Day. There is deep meaning hidden in that seemingly tiny event. As deep as the meaning in the photo of Barry not saluting the flag.

Is your question serious? Are you totally ignorant about the economics of solar power and rooftop solar in particular?

There is no free energy to harvest. Using solar power requires a costly manufacturing and installation process. Solar power provides little baseload and peak power. The payback period on non subsidized rooftop solar is 50 to 100 years, larger than the anticipated lifetime of the panels.

Your reference to free energy is directly from the left’s playbook. I hope you realize how ridiculous your question is.

Unfortunately the ixquick search isn’t that great. I just did a quick comparison on a tv problem I was having and the google results were much more useful.

Those POS leftists do happen to have a good search engine.

Drat.

Compared to the cost of installing a coal, oil, nat gas, nuclear or hydro plant?

No, solar is not a be all and end all, but it is very low maintenance, no ongoing fuel cost supply.

Solar output coincides with peak A/C demand, and helps flatten the demand curve.

Right now, due to massive overproduction in China solar arrays are surprisingly inexpensive.

My 15 year old array and inverter have paid off their original cost. A new system would have an even shorter payback as the arrays are cheaper, the inverters are cheaper and the combined efficiencies are higher.

And THAT is assuming that “Under my [Obama’s] plan of a cap-and-trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket,” doesn’t happen.

Take that bet at your peril.

That’s 1.9% donations for McCain and 98.1% for Obama.

I do not believe your claim. Your numbers cannot be correct especially for a 15 year old system.

Here is a system quote given to me two years ago. The system was a 4.3 KW system. However, the typical peak output was less than 4.0 KW. The cost was $30,000. The system could save me about $1,000 per year in electricity costs. However, this savings is based on the utility being forced to offset my excess solar panel generation. The utility would not buy my excess power. Most of the power generated was during periods that I did not use much power. Without the utility offset, the electricity cost savings would be less than $500 per year. Thus, the unsubsidize payback is more than 50 years.

To entice me to buy the system, the utility was forced to invest $15,000 (it earns a healthy rate of return on this investment). I would also receive a federal tax credit about $6,600. I was told that the inverter would last 10 to 20 years. The solar panels decline about 1 percent per year.

There was a interesting economic analysis of the California initiative for 1 million rooftop panels. The estimated cost was $20 billion. This investment would provide little baseload and peak power. Thus, this investment would still need comparable backup capacity. During the winter, the system output would decline sharply.

Contrary to your assertion about peak power, residential solar does not match peak power needs very well. During the peak power demand hours (4 to 6PM), rooftop solar output declines sharply.

I don’t believe Google. They knew this would look bad.

......so the leftists control all sytems of information, the monetary system, the education system, the judicial system, the entertainment industry, utility monopolies....

so that leaves freedom seeking individuals with what.....the constitution ? (maybe we could fold it into a jet airplane and throw it at them)[/cynicism]

Worth saying again, but louder:

Notice the key words in their denials. They claim Obama hasn’t paid for the service, and Obama claims he hasn’t paid them for a service.

It was most likely given to him for free. So technically they’re telling the truth.”

Yeah, just because someone is a moonbat leftist, corporate fatcat in who's interests it is to keep the president deeply beholden in return for lucrative business opportunities, doesn't mean they're a liar.

Rushing to judgement can be SO unfair.
