Newt's one-man RLC show
Politico ^ | 06/16/11 | JONATHAN MARTIN

Posted on 06/16/2011 10:47:12 PM PDT by jageorge72

No longer constrained by campaign advisers who insisted on such conventions as “message discipline,” Gingrich fulminated against President Obama, the news media, activist judges and assorted other liberal bogeymen for 41 minutes here Thursday night.

It was classic Newt – slashing attacks, an array of ideas, and a few plugs for his website. All jumbled together with little cohesion.

The former speaker, it seems, is very much enjoying the post-consultant phase of his candidacy.

HOW OLD ARE YOU ?

Look, you have ignored just about every single salient point I and others have made about Newtie and come back with mind benumbing lies and erroneous claptrap. If you aren't interested in being informed, then you will just become a laughing stock here.

Newtie "more conservative than Reagan"? IN WHAT UNIVERSE?

Clinton had Newt on his knees and out the damned door, faster than you can say JACK ROBINSON.

Did Newt and the GOP Congress ( that's both houses, for the uninformed )get some things done and halt some others, during the Clinton presidency? Yes, they did, but with a lot of pulling and pushing and prodding by little Dickie Morris, at Slick Willie's ear.

Sarah Palin is far more intelligent and knowledgeable than you claim. OTOH, Newt is far less effective and intelligent than you claim he is.

Not only have I "listened to Newt" and ignored the media for decades, I was once a big fan of his. People were taken in by him, but most of us had our collective eyes opened, BY HIM, BY HIS OWN WORDS AND DEEDS, long ago!

I guess you believe in "man made GLOBAL WARMING", CAP&TRADE, and universal health care, as Newt does..........right?

You wouldn't know what the "real deal" is if it bit you on the arse!

Okay Matthew.... who are you supporting? Can you explain the disproportionate attacks on Newt by the media, compared to the other candidates? The same media that was promoting Mitch (lets call a truce on social issues) Daniels? The same media that hails Mitt (romneycare, previously strongly pro-abortion, 2008 loser) Romney as the unbeatable frontrunner? This is from a media in which 9 of 10 donate to DEMOCRATS. FR needs to wake up. Newt Gingrich is not perfect, but there is a reason he is the media’s #1 target.

What kind of dope you smokin' boy?

The amount of press attacks on Newt in comparison to what Sarah Palin has gone through can quite easily be measured in a Thimble!

What you don’t realize about Newt, is that he no longer has any influence, anywhere.

Nobody cares about him, he has no base, no audience, no constituency.

Not here at FR, not in moderate land, no where, nobody cares about him, he is irrelevant, nobody even knows what his politics are anymore, he is an empty suit looking for a seminar to sell Newtisms at.

"Okay Matthew.... who are you supporting?"

I don't keep that secret, it's on my homepage, reprinted here for your convience:

My realistic, updated (06/05/11) dream picks, in order of preference: 1.DeMint 2.Palin 3.Bachmann 4.Bolton 5.Cain

But that's not what's under discussion here. You are pushing Newt, and not very successfully. I have been in Newt's camp before, but I have seen the light. He's not right for America now, and he has zilch, zippo, nada chance of winning the primary.

"Can you explain the disproportionate attacks on Newt by the media, compared to the other candidates?"

You mean like Sarah Palin? But anyway, I pay little heed to the MSM.

Newt is a Progressive, untrustworthy loser.

Tell me how supporting Global Warming, the biggest fraud, with Nancy Pelosi Conservative?

Tell me how after announcing your run for President, going on a Luxury Vacation in this economy Conservative?

Tell me how routinely saying leftist leaning stupid stuff on the weekend news shows and then having to hit Hannity on Monday for a Mea Culpa Conservative?

Tell me how having to re announce your POTUS run in LA after your campaign staff abandons you for being a cuckold Conservative?

Tell me how having a harem of ex-wives is Conservative?

For every 10 ideas this guy has, 8 are total garbage. Newty goes which ever way the wind blows. How can anyone depend on him sticking to any principles? His candidacy is a total farce.

Yes, that is what I was driving at.

I and other posters have tried to educate this dunce.......all to no avail.

Those of us who lived through the cringe making, know full well what an abject failure that overstuffed little man really is.

[Newt] will have everyone from the Tea Party to blue dog Democrats cheering

In his dreams. He thinks he has co-opted the tea party.

Newt pandered to the tea party, even spoke at a tea party rally in San Diego last year.

I walked up to him and shook his hand and looked into his eyes and what I saw was vacant.

He responded by saying, thanks for being here. Completely ignored what I said to him, just took it as one more person that is likes his agenda.

I'm one of the little people to him, as are the other millions of tea party movement people across this country.

He lights up for those that can advance him, and the media.

The tea party movement will NOT support him. Period.

"His 'I'm a real black man' comment will crush him... Even Republicans will reject that garbage"

Whaaa?? What does "even Republicans" mean. Kinda like saying, "Even OJ Simpson wouldn't be jealous of her."

Do you think Republicans don't have the race credentials the Dims have? I'm not gonna waste my pinkies educating you on how the opposite is and has been true. Pubs got a lot of probs these days but racism isn't one of them. Not by a long shot.

I did not claim Palin is stupid..... I like Palin and she is fairly smart, but just a few years ago she had to be coached on everything, so don’t pretend she is a genius. ...and don’t dismiss how knowledgable Gingrich really is. If you know Newt as much as you pretend to, then you know he is nearly unbeatable on healthcare, national security, the economy, the founders/constitution/american exceptionalism, the influence of God on the founding of the counrty, etc... Who can lay out the facts, and vision for the future better than Gingrich on these topics? Who? Not Palin.

Ronald Reagan raised taxes when Newt vows not to. ....and Reagan was not nearly as pro-life as Newt Gingrich. Reagan granted amnesty to illegals... which Newt also supported, but Reagan ultimately failed to seal the border. Newt scares me slightly on illegal immigration, but I do believe he will actually seal the border and stop illegal immigration.

Bill Clinton balanced the budget, and passed the popular welfare reform thank’s to Newt’s leadership. (Side note: this is Newt’s point on Medicare and the Ryan plan..... if it doesn’t have overwhelming public support.... which it doesn’t..... you go out and win the argument until it does) Newt stepped down from the speakership for the sake of the party, after some great accomplishments. You clearly buy the media’s version of it. That’s up to you. You also probably thought Newt’s first wife was dead until his daughter recently cleared that up.

Newt is older now, wiser, and clearly cares about the future of the country. You seem to prefer to blame Dick Morris for Clinton’s success? How about giving Newt the credit he deserves? It was his leadership.... not Morris’ influence. Clinton would have faced the realities with or without Morris. Obama might be a different story though.

Newt Gingrich praises Barack Obama

On Palin in the same article:

The often outspoken Gingrich, who said he plans to announce whether he’s running for the White House by late February, also had some words of advice for Sarah Palin, a potential opponent in the race for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination. “I think that she’s got to slow down and think through what she’s saying and how she’s saying it,” he said. “There’s no question that she’s become more controversial, but she is still a phenomenon…. She remains a very formidable person in her own right.”

Please refrain from trying to school me re politics and especially about Newtie!

I don't "pretend" to know........I DO KNOW all about Newt; what he says, has said, has written, and has done!

No, Newt and the boys didn't "force" Clinton to sign the welfare reform Bill; that was Dickie Morris, ON THE THIRD TRY!

You did so claim that Palin is "stupid", by bringing up that heavily edited, rather banal Couric "interview", which was set up by that back stabbing itch on wheels, who used to WORK FOR KATIE. You claimed that Newtie wouldn't have been "caught" by Couric. Yet the MSM "caught" old Newt, many times over, when he was Speaker of the House" and since then.

All candidates are "coached" and "prepared". To believe otherwise is naive.

Unlike Newt, Palin has actually run a town and a state. Her ideas are far better than Newt's and to cap it off, she actually is a proven leader who got things done!

It doesn't take a genius to be president.

Do you want a college prof as president?

Hell yes............I WANT PALIN!

You are a coward if you are writing off Newt Gingrich this early. Look at what your candidate says, does, etc.... and compare them to what Newt says.
You're right. You'd have to be a real genius to blow your campaign on day one, go on an extended vacation on day two then have your entire staff walk off the job on day three...Yeah, some really brilliant moves there.

Newt looks like a Cheshire cat with a sh!t eating grin.
