Obama, Boehner set for Saturday golf outing

There is no game like golf: You go out with three friends, play 18 holes, and return with three enemies. Anonymous
Unlike, say, ping-pong with China and wrestling with Iran, golf doesnt have much of a track record as a sport for bringing longtime adversaries together which only adds another level of intrigue to Saturdays long-anticipated round between President Obama and House Speaker John A. Boehner.
I expect it could get interesting out there, like, when do you call a penalty stroke on the other guy or what are the rules for conceding putts, said Nathan Presnal, general manager and head pro at Lake Presidential Golf Course in Upper Marlboro, Md.
You tend to want to play golf with your friends, people you know you get along with or want to do business with, Mr. Presnal said. It could be a real good exercise in bipartisanship, or it may just tell us what were in for for the next few years.
The Democratic president and the Republican speaker, with Vice President Joseph R. Biden and Ohio Republican Gov. John Kasich rounding out the foursome, tee it up Saturday at an undisclosed location. Mr. Obama and Mr. Boehner both admit to being golf addicts, although even ardent Democratic partisans concede the Ohio Republican is the more experienced and accomplished player.

It's all about bonding, yaknow.
I hope Boehner doesn't cry if he loses.. or wins.

I don't think Boehner should do it. We've been able to turn Obama’s golfing into a pretty successful attack of his indifference to important matters. By joining Obama, Boehner is neutralizing a lot of the traction we could have gotten, because the Whitehouse can trot out video of the two them golfing anytime a Republican criticizes Obama for spending too much time on the greens.

I hope Boehner doesn't cry if he loses.. Boehner's a pretty good golfer -- an 8 handicap. Hussein claims to be an 18, but looking at his lame swing I'd be surprised if he were better than a 25. If they play straight up, the Speaker will destroy him. ...even on a bad day.

Boehner should be in the House this weekend drafting Articles of Impeachment for Operation Fast and Furious, not d****** around on a golf course with them.

Sadly, Boehner won't destroy him where it counts the most - in the negotiating room. Boehner is the second coming of Bob Michel, which is not a compliment.

Didn’t we rehabilitate Obama enough during the lame-duck session.
Obama needs to be treated like the corrupt country wrecking bastard that he is.
Boehner may have some sort of a plan here, but I’m sure missing it’s wisdom.

Boehner wants a ‘Gingrich - Pelosi couching together’ photo with Obama, that is his choice.
Don’t hate us for bringing it up every time he does some bone head things in the future.

I've been searching the web to find a mention of Obama playing golf before moving to the White House. So far, nothing.
It seems that the community organizer is chasing the trappings of what he considers to be the territory of the elite.
I wonder if he does anything to help the First Tee program in Chicago.

Apparently, no press will be allowed. I’d love to see video of Obama’s game and the two of them smoking up a storm.
