Beating Obama Matters Most to GOP Voters, Poll Finds
Christian Post ^ | Jun. 18, 2011 | Anugrah Kumar

Findings of a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey released Friday found that 77 percent of "Likely Republican Primary Voters" think that every one of the party's presidential candidates would do a better job than the current occupant of the White House. And 83 percent of primary voters said they would vote for the Republican candidate even if their favorite did not capture the party's presidential nomination.

The poll signaled a shift among Republicans since the 2008 presidential election when many GOP supporters chose Obama over John McCain (R-Ariz.) with little consideration for their party.

Ninety-two percent of GOP primary voters who are Tea Party members said they would vote for the Republican candidate even if their favorite fell short of the nomination. And 93 percent of them felt any of the GOP candidates would make a better president than Obama.

Interesting poll.

I wonder if the statement about Republicans voting for Obama in 2008 is really true.

I remember on primary day in 1996 when they handed out cards saying the same thing, and assuring us that voting for Dole was the thing to do because he was “electable.” Yeah, he sure was. About as electable as a dead lizard out in the alley, and about as attractive. Enter McCain. Enter Romney...Throw the game.

Dole was not electable, neither was McCain, and neither is Romney.

That’s why the MSM is pushing Romney, he would lose big to Obama.

Obama slammed at liberal conference

They’re starting to ‘eat their own’ ... finally!

Quote: White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer was heckled and booed Friday at the annual Netroots Nation conference in Minnesota, a gathering of liberal activists from the online political community.

Well, last time I voted for Palin (with McCain as the additional candidate), but there’s no way you’ll catch me voting for Mitt Romney!

Me, too. I voted for Sarah. I will not vote for Romney. I will write in Mickey Mouse before I vote for Romney.

To be fair Ross Perot was a dark horse that Clinton set up to take votes away from Dole.

Say what one will about Sarah, but she was the clothespin that got McCain as close as he did. If he hadn't been campaigning for Obama, he coulda pulled it off.

I don't see anyone out there that could take enough of the stench out of those Mittens for me to do that again.

Let’s all hope that Romney will not be the GOP nominee.

Well, yeah, duh! That said, why the heck would we want another nose-hold nominee again is beyond me.

"...83 percent of primary voters said they would vote for the Republican candidate even if their favorite did not capture the party's presidential nomination..."

That's the money line right there. That stat is HUGE.

If you remember the last election...many real conservatives just couldn't bring themselves to vote for McCain-matter of principle don't you know? That "principled" action got us four years of 0.

Looks like most of the real conservatives are willing to go with a less than perfect Republican this time around rather than experiencing another four years of the current Dumazz-in-Chief.

Romney is a sure loser. So is Huntsman. So is Gingrich. That’s why the MSM wants to nominate Romney or Huntsman. I think Gingrich still has too much of his old reputation as a conservative clinging to him for the MSM to push him, unless they have to.

But basically, for the media, it’s ABP, Anyone but Palin.

Okay, so almost all want to be rid of Obama because he sucks big time as POTUS and MiniObama is running as a Republican and is ahead in some Republican polls???

There's a bit of a disconnect there, just a bit.
