ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Gay marriage will become legal in New York state after the Republican-led state Senate voted to approve it. Advocates are calling it a historic step as New York stands to become the sixth but by far the largest state to legalize same-sex marriage.
Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo lobbied hard for the bill and has promised to sign it.
The Senate vote is viewed as a major gain in an effort to allow gay marriage nationally.

The real trojan in all of this will be faggots demanding to be hired by Christian churches. Imagine what that would do to a conservative church?
Arizona rejected an pro-marriage amendment in 2006, by 51%. Then, in 2008, they passed it by 56%. So the pro-marriage amendments are 31 for 32, with every state that tried it eventually passing it. I’m not sure if every state has a popular vote process for amendments.
Virginia only passed it by 57% in 2006. Hawaii passed it by an astounding(for Hawaii) 69%, but that was back in 98. Mississippi passed it by a whopping 86% in 2004! There are five states that passed amendments by majorities in the 52-59% range. I wonder how those votes would go in 10 years? In 50? Of course, that is if our masters in black robes just dont decide to cut out the unwashed masses and decide for us.
One small point - by your logic, same-sex “marriage” is not a special right for homosexuals. Yes, it is the case that homosexuals are free to marry, just like heterosexuals, as long as their spouse meets the required criteria (including, of course, that the spouse is of the opposite sex). But, if same-sex “marriage” is allowed, heterosexuals will be just as free as homosexuals to “marry” someone of the same sex.
I’m not arguing in favor or same-sex “marriage,” merely pointing out that it would not give homosexuals any more rights than heterosexuals.
Unfortunately, you are correct.
Another Roman Catholic doing his best to destroy this country.
His own church outlaws same sex marriage, but it's just fine for everyone else.
Pretty interesting gambit.
One day closer to Civil War II. See my tagline.
More FReepmail trolls.
You know, when I see those FReepmails from someone I don’t know, I don’t even READ it. I scan it for key words like *gay*, and if I see it, delete it IMMEDIATELY.
No, welcome to Sodom. The city may end up as the first one did.
Not anymore. The Republicans just signed their death warrant. They are FINISHED controlling the senate for good now. Because of this vote, the amount of leftist garbage that will be rubber-stamped by the D controlled senate will be mind-boggling.
Thank God I’m leaving this hellhole. Not a moment too soon.
Cuomo needs to be excommunicated from the Catholic Church immediately! As do any other Catholics that took part in this. I won't hold my breath waiting for that to happen however!
They were probably afraid of an attack from the glitter bullies. New York’s GOP has show they’re just like California’s - completely irrelevant and will now become a permanent minority.
Let’s be honest, this isn’t about marriage. This is using the concept of marriage to sugarcoat the Left’s goal that they’ve had for a long time of destroying the nuclear family. This is up there with no-fault divorce, radical feminism and abortion on demand.
I got that too...seems he’s making his rounds behind the scene in folks freep-mail rather than make his case in full view of the audiance. What a hypocrite making claims “in the Freep-mail rather than ‘comeout’ for all to view.
Lots! John Chapter 1 vs 1
In the Beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.
The Word became fleas and dwelt among us. Jesus is the Word, Jesus is God!
Every Word in the Old/New Testaments is from God.
Whether it`s Sodom and Gomorrah, or any of the other MANY scripture regarding homosexuality.
I am sure most are familiar with them all...Abomination etc etc
Also important to remember that God loves us all, and all sins can be forgiven if we only will acknowledge to God that we are indeed sinners. Thank Him Lord Jesus for dying on the cross for our sins, and turn from our sins, at the very least to attempt to turn from our sins for starters, crying out for His strength and mercy.
But when we say we have no sin we have no hope.
I KNOW I AM A SINNER...saved by Grace
Tell me that was the result of auto-correct!
