How picture perfect Michele Bachmann has stepped up her style game
Daily Mail UK ^ | June 27, 2011 | Tamara Abraham

Michele Bachmann, looked polished and elegant as she announced her campaign to be the Republicans' Presidential candidate today.

And while there is no denying that the Minnesota Congresswoman, 55, is an attractive woman, it appears she has stepped up her game when it comes to her style and beauty routine.

As she launched her bid this morning, it was clear that her pale grey dress and matching jacket had been carefully considered.

--snip--

Mr Mattie compared Mrs Bachmann to fellow Republican Sarah Palin, whose distinctive personal style came under heavy scrutiny in 2008 during her campaign for U.S. Vice President.

He added: 'It's great to see a political candidate who does not wear her hair in a bun or hide her smoldering eye shadow with oversized spectacles, much like what has become the cartoonish beauty treatment of Sarah Palin.'

I was rather amused by this fluff piece in the UK press. Are male candidates subjected to fashion critiques like this? And of course they couldn't resist a snarky comparison with Sarah Palin.

Professional women have to deal with and master so much more crap than men do.

The Palin comments are particularly unfortunate, but Bachmann has mastered a smooth professional look more than any other woman I can think of in politics.

I snorted coffee out of my nose on this one “...ensured that no-one could accuse her of being ‘sexy’...”

This must have been written by a gay eunuch.

How could he look at this woman and not view her as being outrageously beautiful and drop dead sexy ?!!!?

Yes, it really bothers me to read this piece. Even though it is very complimentary of Michelle Bachman. It’s a sexist piece because you would never see something like this written about a male candidate who just announced his candidacy for the Presidency. No one comments on his tie or suit. All candidates should be treated the same. The only time fashion should be mentioned is if a candidate (male or female) walked out wearing something that was really ridiculous or zany.

I honestly believe a statistical majority of our media are in fact gay.

Hollywood. Media and education. All “working to change the system from within”.

Gay gay gay. Gayer than male flight attendants. With apologies to the one straight male flight attendant FReeper out there lurking somewhere.

If only she hadn't mentioned John Wayne. Folks, the MSM is going to portray her as another Christine O'Donnell if she becomes our candidate. Hell, they already are.

I think “Wayne-gate” has already passed its expiration date.

As the dems say, but in this case is right.

Nothing to see here. Nobody cares. Time to move on.

Im not seeing that. They are giving her a pass on this. Chrissy last night spoke of it and said “I still like her” Why??? Morning Joe this morning round table. We shouldnt compare her to Palin, Bachmann seems to pick her words more carefully and doesnt have the vitirol Palin does. Why???

and again I ask.... Why was Bachmann allowed to participate in the debate. She announced yesterday. Gary Johnson wasnt allowed to debate because they wanted Michelle? Why???

Liberals and RINOs both, treat Bachmann with kid gloves because they believe she’ll draw support from Palin.

They’re wrong.

Bachmann draws from Romney. Which is a good thing.

The current dynamic is perfect. Palin is in a good spot. Bachmann just made sure she can’t steal the show and actually push Palin aside. Mitt is stalling.

The left has no real targets to Alinsky. Perfect environment for an informative, old-fashioned campaign, run by our side rather than the media - in which we decide about our own candidates based on actual issues.

So far so good.

Next: Bachmann should now fire Rollins on general principle, without comment - and everyone will blame him for Wayne-gate.

:D

The Minnesota Congresswoman has been seen reapplying her lip gloss before making a public appearance.

OMG, can you believe it?!?

I agree, Rep. Bachmann has good dress sense. She always looks nice, in the pictures and videos I've seen.

Apparently, MB takes great pride in knowing all the details being a hands on type executive.

excerpt from Globe and Mail article:

Some close to Ms. Bachmann privately refer to her as a "light switch." She flips on the charm to dazzle audiences or nail TV interviews, they say, then takes on a drill sergeant persona in private, where questioning her decisions draws suspicion of disloyalty. She's described as meticulous and worried about the finer details, such as soundtracks played to pump up rally crowds.

Ms. Bachmann has experienced frequent top-level staff changes in her congressional office since 2007. She's had six chiefs of staff in four years, five press secretaries, five legislative directors and three communications directors.

[ hmm that's 19 staff members that were fired or that fled MB, tying Newt, though Newt still holds the speed record.]

Ms. Bachmann discounts the staff churning as "growing pains" in an office that "moves at a fast rate of speed," and she stresses that many left for more influential jobs elsewhere.

Remember they did the same thing to Pelosi when she became speaker. And who can forget the hundreds of articles on Madeleine Albright’s brooches. And the press thinks they are the vanguards of preventing sexism.

Things get fashionable occasionally which are greatly irritating. That is one of them. What does it mean, to you? Does it mean you are just throwing something out there for consideration but that you don't want to own it? Does it mean that no one else will say it but you will? Help me out here!

I could care less if she is naked. She worries me with her past comments on cutting veterans benefits. is she still on that plan or who is she throwing under the bus now. Yes we need to cut waste and abuse in even VA admin. We do not need to cut disability checks to veterans shot up or blown up.http://thespeechatimeforchoosing.wordpress.com/2011/06/22/why-does-michele-bachmann-want-to-throw-military-veterans-under-the-bus/

Is this fact?

As opposed to validating the factual content of her public statements.

Form over substance and worrying about the wrong thing...
