As Deb has reminded me more than once, trolls always give themselves away because “they talk too much”. You have exposed this one.
Whatever. Yes, we’ve reached “whatever.” He used the verbal formula that Paul used. He didn’t say “this is Romans 8:31 and this is what Romans 8:31 means.” There is a huge difference, and the fact you can’t see that tells me all I need to know about the future of this conversation. Wish it were different.

It’s a shame he didn’t use a more appropriate reference and chose to misapply that one.

If you can get him to say he actually meant that Romans 8:31 is an explicit teaching of Paul about politics, then I’ll believe you. But that’ll never happen, because that’s not what he did. You took it the way you did because that’s who you are. I didn’t take that way and still don’t and likely never will. As it is, the cost of this discussion in time, money, and spiritual pain is far greater than it’s benefit to either of us, so bye.
