I personally don’t bother with types like that...let them live in their own misery. I also don’t befriend them once their negativity reveals itself. However if they push it I’ll give them a reality check.....after they have to pick themsleves off the floor.

As you know those who are chronic complainers are NOT unhappy people....they sustain themselves by making others around them unhappy..which ‘satisfies’ their morbid outlook on life...they feel good about that.

Its also in NY where literally anything can happen. If this happens in a LESS liberal state, you may have a point.

They don’t dampen my efforts to unseat this regime one bit; but it’s still frustrating to hear them, especially when they aren’t willing to contribute by phone banking, or campaigning or volunteering or donating money. I guess it’s because my Mom used to always tell me “Can’t never could” every time I’d say I can’t do ______. As an adult, when I hear people say “can’t”, I want to scream.
