It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Marcus, when you listen to the audio, sounds gay. People are slowly finding this out, and many believe this is hilarious. The Washington Post did not direct anyone to audio of Marcus speaking. At some point, people will hear him. That was a pretty flattering portrayal of Marcus. There are hints: "Dr. Bachmann, who recently called himself his wife’s “strategist,” has acted as her media planner, traveling assistant and even personal shopper. " "even personal shopper". It has been said elsewhere that he buys her clothes for her. "In Dr. Bachmann’s interview with Point of View talk radio in 2010, he said that parents and authority figures have a responsibility not to allow homosexual feelings “to move into action steps” and warned that the rate of homosexuality in public schools would increase if it became tolerated with “full, wide-open doors.”" Listen to the audio of that. It's not linked in the article (that i've seen) and I don't feel like linking it myself. it's on youtube. Very fair article not a hit piece. "At the Ohio-based Union Graduate Institute, from which he received his PhD in 1995, he added another thesis on the impact of day care on older children." If this was a hit piece, they would have said "At the Ohio-based Union Graduate Institute, a correspondence school from which he received his PhD in 1995, he added another thesis on the impact of day care on older children." They leave the "correspondence school" part out. The hit pieces to come won't leave that out. No hints in the article about the questioning of Marcus's sexuality. They are likely aware that the audio of Marcus on youtube is up to 67K views in the last week. The 2nd most popular comment on that youtube thread is "He sounds exactly like Corky St. Clair in Waiting for Guffman." I like Michele Bachmann. She's my 3rd choice. But those comments are all going to me coming out of the mouths of tv comedians. Worse than Christine O'Donnell. But there's no point in doing it now. On another issue, about curing gay, the problem is being framed poorly. It's gays vs the christian right. The only cure is praying. The religious right is not popular with most americans. that means the gays beat them, because their enemy is even less popular than they are. Gay is not a religious problem. Say "I use the prayer method, but medicine and science should be working harder on a cure." I'm on the side of science. Science vs Gay Science is more popular than the religious right. Gay (and also transsexual) is mental illness. It should be treated with medicine. It's clearly an epidemic, a social health problem. People are not reproducing fast enough. Abortions and gay are partially the cause of that. And now, Social Security has problems. People are going to have to work longer until they get social security. As also, as a basic matter of public policy, any activity that would cause extinction if everyone did it, an extinctionary behavior, is intrinically unhealthy to a society. It's a social problem. Apparently the Obamas don't like fat kids. Fine. But if every kid was fat, it doesn't mean that there would be no humans left. Just less people on SS probably, presuming that fat kids die faster. Homosex is extinctionary. Extinctionary is wrong, and we can go as far as to say morally wrong. Another advantage to defining this as a medical problem is that powerful players - big pharma - might see dollar signs. Gays do not seem to be on the defensive here at the moment. And they're not taking the opposition seriously, and they really shouldn't, if the oppositions main argument is pray the gay away. Gay is a serious social problem - extinctionary Gay is a medical, scientific problem that could be cured by medicine and science. "hey, big pharma, there's 10 billion dollars for you when you cure gay. We will consider gay "cured" when we don't hear any more from any gay people." So, you can see how the incentives get changed around. We know that lithium can control bipolar, how about gay? Let's start the testing.

There are many organizations that help people leave the “gay” life. No pharmaceutical drugs needed. There are faith based and secular organizations and treatment methods.

It is a medical problem.

Americans would support a medical solution.

Americans like and trust science.

They do not believe in faith based cures, and Marcus Bachmann is as close to the worst possible spokesman for faithbased cures.

It’s a real problem, and it should be solved, like other mental illnesses, with medicine. Powerful doses of Lithium might keep em from buggering each other. Problem solved!
But you can’t patent Lithium. Get on this big pharma.

The Religious Right has done a terrible job of arresting the spread of gay. It’s time for a new strategy, based on an understanding of the causes of mental illness.

I’m not going to watch the video because I only watch videos when absolutely necessary. Pharmaceutical medicines are not high on my list for anything, especially psychological or behavioral problems. People already are treating homosexuals with some success, those who want to change. No doping up necessary.

Here’s what’s going to be going on with that, unless Michele just drops off.

Until recently, gay was considered a mental illness by the professionals. Transsexuals are still. These are doctors, who have some understanding of science and medicine, who understand that mental illness (which gay and transsexual most certainly are) is best treated with medicine.

But the War on Gay is led by people who gays consider gay, who are trying really hard not to do sodomy.

Our side talks about resisting urges, and gays laugh and say that if you have those urges, that means your gay. And gays have won that argument.

We should say that Gay is a serious problem, and we should use medicine to just get rid of it.

We don’t want to have any discussion of War on Gay, with Marcus Bachmann on our side, and people who understand science on the other. We want science on our side. Country club Republicans, and most normal people across the board, are on the side of science, and gay-seeming gay curers will make 60-70% of the American people laugh. Because gayseeming gaycurers are not particularly rare. Comical, yes, rare, no.

I like that Michele Bachmann is pretty, somewhat Palin like, and can often say tea party conservative things without saying something stupid. But we should all know that this is out there, it’s fatal, and we should be slowly walking away from Michele right now.

No, I’m not saying that I think anything. I’m saying that
everyone on that youtube thread is saying that Bachmann’s husband is a homo.

And I’m saying that whenever the media feels like it, most Americans will believe that Bachmann’s husband is a closet homo.

And the msm and the American people will find this the funniest thing in the history of the world.

Here’s some background. I was a big supporter of Christine O’Donnell. I still am. I was posting pro Christine stuff here 5 months before the primary. But I did my research. I knew that if Christine won, the media would be making fun of her. But I still didn’t care, and I still don’t. Because Christine was better than the awful Mike Castle, who was supported by Rove, I thought it would work out great.

And it did. Yes, Christine lost. But the msm did not talk much about Rand Paul, or Republicans running for the House, but they talked only about Christine. And Republicans won a ton of seats in the house. A historic landslide. The msm did not say “this is why Republicans are bad”. They said “this is why Christine is a joke.” And all that did was keep some people from voting for Christine. It didn’t keep people from voting for Republicans running for the House.
The msm was scared of Christine, and used too much of their limited ammo on her.

Similar thing here with Michele, but different outcome. The msm would attack Michele as hard as they attacked Christine.
It’s at least as funny to them as Christine was. And it’ll be devastating everywhere to all Republicans.

I like Michele. Until she ran for President, we didn’t know about Marcus, didn’t need to know about Marcus, didn’t care at all about Marcus. But she’s running for President, and spouses matter. So we need to know these things.
