With the country mired in a grave debate about the debt and government spending, the CIA confirmed Monday that they are sponsoring a gay advocacy groups summit on issues affecting lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) military members.
The Central Intelligence Agency sponsorship exemplifies the climate of mutual respect for all that was cultivated on Secretary [Leon] Panettas watch, said Jonathan Hopkins combat veteran and the DC managing director for the host group, OutServe.
Promoting diversity within the CIAs ranks in its many forms is a top priority for the Agency, Marie Harf, CIA spokesman told TheDC.
The CIA joins the Human Rights Campaign, Amazon, Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, Coverity, Out & Equal, Log Cabin Republicans, Stonewall Democrats of Southern Nevada, and the American Veterans for Equal Rights to put on the 2011 OutServe Armed Forces Leadership Summit in Las Vegas, Nev., this October.
The OutServe Armed Forces Leadership Summit will provide an international forum on creating an environment of respect in the military with regards to sexual orientation and gender identity, the Summit sponsorship page explains. It will provide the LGBT military community a means of building professional networks, sharing best practices and formulating strategies that help build a stronger military community.
According to OutServes summit page, sponsorships cost up to $50,000. The CIAs sponsorship was in the $10,000 range. The agency will headline a panel with Amazon about LGBT careers after military service.
They forgot to include the ‘LBTG’ group (Lurkers, Blowhards, Transvestites and Goobers).
Maybe they can name it after Bradley Manning.
Seems like this sort of function would be more in the State Departments line?
Soooo...now, on top of Asian-Pacific Heritage Month, African-American Heritage Month and Hispanic Heritage Month and Women in Federal Service Month, we’re going to have to buy more rubber chicken dinners for LGBT Heritage Month?
My head is about to explode.
Show me where that’s written in the CIA jobs’ description.
where’s Petraeus? The country is toast
We are Rome -minus the death matches- And we are going the way of Rome...Illegals, perverts and overspending...oh, but we are so enlightened now...pffptpft.
Gives me a chance to say even if you accept gay/ lesbian, the inclusion of “transgender” is radical, absurd, and almost certainly the result of mental/emotional illnesses.
Enough already, they are all out and proud already, there are LGBT sensitivity programs in most federal departments already, and LGBT-friendly mainline churches already, the presbyterians have gay priests already and there is gay marriage and civil unions everywhere aslready already already, and gay-sensitive books in elementary schools already so stop.
somebody should look into who pushed this through CIA bureaucracy as ‘diversity is our highest priority’ already. I thought it was protecting America.
okay, I’m deluded.
Further to my rant, I guess adoption by transgenderites is just as good for kids as a boring old mom and dad? Wake up people.
Spending money on anything to do with LGBT is all part of the liberal syndrome.
Liberal/Dem/PC controlled governments waste huge amounts of money and time on ridiculous causes that should have nothing to do with their core missions.
Examples abound, take the city of Philadelphia Human Rights Commission spending years prosecuting Joey Vento (who owns a famous cheesesteak shop) for posting a sign a few inches wide asking people to “please speak English” when ordering.
This is what we’ve come to?? This is national securty!
This nation is OFFICIALLY toast: I predict a break-up between the states in the next 5 years..
You know, I was a mere MSgt when I retired, but I figured out that as soon as I was no longer interested in trying to make E-8, the "heritage month" banquets became a whole lot less important.
My life became a whole lot simpler then.
The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
“wheres Petraeus? The country is toast”
Petraeus is FOR open homosexuality in the Armed Services. So disappointing.
Wait, he also blamed US for muslims acting crazy about Kooran
and didn’t he author the counter-insurgency crapola that kills out men? Was he the one who ordered all those Bibles burned? Thanks for the reminder. we are double-toast.

Anyone who thinks that those pushing the homosexual agenda will stop of their own accord without being made to stop by superior force, is living in a dream world. I made this comment earlier today, applies here:
What many people refuse to realize is that the homosexual agenda pushers will not stop until they have deprived every single person of their Constitutional freedoms of speech, association and religion, as well as the right to raise their children as they see fit. The goal of the gay rights pushers is to entirely change society to suit them, in every single way, by force of law. Its totalitarian by design. Until people realize this, they will keep compromising, and losing freedoms bit by bit. Those pushing the homo-agenda are pushing pure Evil.
Apparently 0h0m0 and his peeps such as Hitlery Clinton are making the GLBT cause the focal point (or is it "fecal point"?) of US policy both here and abroad. The State Dept is pushing perversion on all countries, the USDA is making sure farmers and USDA employees are fine with pervsion, the CIA is getting in on the perv act, and of course destroying the military and making it safe for homos is vital. I am sure I'm missing some of the federal agencies and departments who are making perversion promotion a priority; all with OUR tax dollars.
1. Thanks for you service!
2. I haven’t actually attended one in years, despite lots of pressure to do so.
Good for you!
