I can’t believe Philthadelphia isn’t on the list.
These cities are going to be bailed out by their state, until the state can’t do it anymore, and then the state will beg the fedgov for a bailout.
When you see the first state telling a begging city that they can’t help them,
you better be heading to your “bug out”, because that’s the sign that the slow collapse is starting.
Said parasites cannot hope to get hired somewhere else. Certainly not in the “real world.”
The parasites are the last to die, but they die just as surely as the host.
We are going to see a wave of municipal bankruptcies across the fruited plain. Legal details notwithstanding. It will happen because it has to happen.
Or maybe, like that dysfunctional town in GA, local governments will simply stop paying pensions and benefits, court orders notwithstanding.
Not to worry, retirees and the disabled aren’t much for rioting. They will die quietly out of sight.
Something tells me we’ll be seeing these kind, caring democrat bastions being the most ruthless in abandoning the weak, halt and lame to their fates.

but when a city defaults, and the state cannot help them, it goes up the chain to the fedgov.

Here is the bio of the “lady” that was mayor of CS up until 2003.
She was Colorado Springs’ first female mayor, serving from 1997 to 2003. As mayor, she led a nine-member city council, served as chairman of the board of Colorado Springs Utilities and provided oversight to city-owned Memorial Hospital. In addition, she is an adjunct faculty member for the Center for Creative Leadership at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, as well as running the Mary Lou Makepeace Group.

That's what I tell people who don't think it is worth the bother to vote in local elections. We have a similar situation with our school board here. Primary turnout is typically around 20-25%. The teacher's union had their puppets cross file (D&R ballots) and turn out a significant portion of their machine.
The puppets captured every one of the four Democrat slots and two of the four available Republican slots. So they are guaranteed at least a 2-2 split in the November off-year general election when 40-45% of the electorate will participate.
We are beginning to manage a fairly healthy conservative turnout here in the Pittsburgh suburbs during the presidential and mid-term elections. Unfortunately, that turnout doesn't seem to carry over so well in the odd years when we elect county commissioners, city councils and school boards.

Nope, you are wrong. Mary Lou came out after she left office. In the Springs, you run without party afflication. She convinced enough voters she was a moderate. She lied. But the Springs is conservative overall. El Paso county is very conservative.
I lived in Costa Mesa for nearly 20 years. I would never call it a liberal bastion, but even back then the City Council was as dumb as a box of rocks.
