Margin marks first statistically significant lead among registered voters

by Jeffrey M. Jones

PRINCETON, NJ -- Registered voters by a significant margin now say they are more likely to vote for the "Republican Party's candidate for president" than for President Barack Obama in the 2012 election, 47% to 39%. Preferences had been fairly evenly divided this year in this test of Obama's re-election prospects.

I suspect running a poll of Obama versus “Anyone Else” would gain double digits.

A bit comforting because Gallup is a left-leaning poll. I imagine the LIKELY voter numbers are even worse for Hussein.

Expect them to double down on the hate index. It's all they got and all they know. No republican candidate's or potential candidate's family member is safe in America today or for the forseeable future.

You're right, 8% is shocking.

Shocking that it's not 40%, I mean.

He is a disgusting Socialist out of OPM unless the GOP lets him off the hook. Now we will see if the last election was worth the trouble. Pound that Sucker.

How bad must it be if “any Republican” is already ahead by a margin greater than the “margin of fraud”.

Ah, but I’m sure Obama and his boys think that Obama will zoom up in the polls once Obama get this debt ceiling issue settled.

Whatever happened to the Bin Laden bounce in the polls?
Some liberals declared the 2012 election was settled right then.

How can a generic Republican be ahead of Obama, when the liberals keep telling us how weak the Republican field is?????

What’s so ‘shocking’ about this?
The only thing I find even remotely ‘shocking’ is that Obamugabe still has ANY support, even in his own party. I guess that 39% of the voters in this country are leeches and parasites..................

Dick Morris says that most undecideds end up voting for the challenger. That puts the score at around Republican 60% and Hussein at 40%.
