There is no doubt that she is a traitor and deserves to be hanged. But this story is a myth;.and I believe that you are right saying it was created by people who support her and want to make decent Americans look bad.
As I recall, Henry was a Democrat, but that was back when democrats were still American patriots, before the communists took over the party. He and Jimmy Stewart, a staunch Republican, were best of friends but disagreed politically.
It is unfortunate she was not tried, convicted and executed for treason.
