Palin causes blood vessel to burst
The North Platte Telegraph ^ | July 17, 2011

Posted on 07/18/2011 4:05:34 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

There was a time when arriving at work with an eye the color of an overripe tomato would have been because I had a really good time the night before.

This one is all Sarah Palin's fault.

My very competent and nice eye doctor, Dr. Baxter, told me that a blood vessel burst in my left eye. It is something that can happen from a sudden increase in blood pressure, like what happens when you have a coughing fit.

Or when Sarah Palin makes the cover of Newsweek magazine.

"Ready to run," the cover reads.

Oh, spare me.

It is no coincidence that my vessel popped within hours after the issue arrived in my mailbox.

The former Governor of Alaska, who quit two years into her first term wouldn't win her home state in a Presidential election. I'm not making that up, it's from Policy Polling and their survey showed that only one of the Republican candidates could take their home state, and that's Gary Johnson in New Mexico. Palin, who isn't even an official candidate, rates just slightly above Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann in the unpopular rankings. Both women have a favorability ranking of 33 percent. Yet a national magazine puts Palin on the cover. (I wasn't real happy about Newsweeks cover last week either, the one that showed a computer-aged Princess Diana walking along with Princess Kate. That was just sleazy.)

Putting Palin on the cover may be good for newsstand sales, but it plays havoc with my health.

And yes, before you ask, I DID read the article in the magazine.

Here's what frosts my pumpkin about the recent Sarah Palin cover. She is a private citizen, not a candidate for president. My profession, the "lamestream media," as she calls us, who provide fuel to whatever fire is in Sarah Palin's gut for fame and fortune are who should be held accountable for my bloody eye.

A co-worker and I have an informal wager going, because he insists Palin will run for President. I say no she won't. Why would she take the pay cut? She could win some primaries, where typically only the faithful bother to show up to vote. In 2008, during the Nebraska primary election on May 13, only 20 percent of registered voters went to the polls. And that's the Republicans. The next time you are at the local grocery store, take a minute to look at the first 10 people you see browsing in the potato chip aisle. Ask yourself if you would trust any two of them to decide who will be in charge of the country for four years, and see if you don't have an immediate impulse to build a bunker in your backyard or ask Canada if we can sleep on their couch. (Thank you, Stephen Colbert.)

I would be happy to loan you my copy of Newsweek, except that I used it under a bug bomb to prevent toxic drips landing on my carpet. I have to stay ahead of the ants.

I need to calm down here before I burst anything else. So I'm going to try and forget about Sarah Palin and politics and relax because it's my birthday.

By the time this appears in the newspaper, it will have come and gone, so let me thank all of you in advance for the lavish gifts and fuss you made. (Belated fussing will be tolerated.)

Now I am going to retreat to my ant-free abode and put an icepack on my eye.

These Public Policy Polls are simply garbage. Isn’t Barry quoting one that says 80% of his underlings want tax increases? Another says Rick Perry wouldn’t beat Barry in Texas, which is laughable.

Sure. I’m supposed to believe that Sarah Palin can’t beat Barry in Alaska, and that Rick Perry can’t beat him in Texas.

We are obviously gaining in knowledge of PDS, Palin Derangement Syndrome. Is it not the right of every American to seek elective office, that used to be the bottom line value. Now even the noise of running by a potential candidate sets of high blood pressure? Beware these fascist idjits. They have too much leg tingle.

However now we know that PDS has a physical symptom of bursting the blood vessels of the eye of those so afflicted. This is very good news indeed. They will not be able to see to fill in their ballot forms, and will vote Tea Party as likely as not.

That was a she?

I was guessing fag. That kind of cattiness is typical, however, of both the sissy dips and the harpie shrews. While the "gender challenged" she-men trend more towards mindless animus (they even like the sound of that word), the "hormone imbalanced" shrew evinces a more laser-focused and toxic venom-slash-irrational rage.

Not that it matters. I'm certain that Palin lives so far above this pus, deviant reprobates like this and the "Bill Mahers" of the media "Vitriolic-Freak-Parade" pretty much exist outside the cleverly crafted sphere of daily tasks and topics which demand her full attention.

Among the easiest ways to deal with this level of vitriol would be to not even peek at it. Ignore it, and never dignify it with your acknowlegement. It's not easy, but it's doable.

And if it can be done, Sarah can do it.

“In 2008, during the Nebraska primary election on May 13, only 20 percent of registered voters went to the polls.”

Maybe because McCain’s nomination was already assured by March. And there was no point to vote in the primaries after that.

It’s amazing how liberals keep telling us that Sarah can’t win, that she would guarantee Obama’s reelection, blah, blah, blah. Yet a cover story suggesting she will run makes their eyes pop, literally it seems.

I suspect deep down she knows things are getting worse and Obama is toast no matter who runs against him, and they dread a President Palin.

The lame stream media? she fits in there real well, as it is private citizens who we need to put in the white house, not government socialists.

Sounds like most Freedom hating socialist loving liberals, they give themselves the red eyes because they are between a rock and a hard place, if this nation goes to socialism how are they going to live off of the system as well as they live off of us now?

If this nation and other nations go completely to socialism
the liberals may have to go to work for the first time in their lives because the few of us who are working to take care of them will not work as hard as we do.

Personally, i would rather keep my freedom and keep on working to take care of the sluts, but it looks like we are going to lose that any way so i will loaf just to see them starve or go to work.

Looks like the Bush hatred syndrome simply slipped to the next genuine conservative, Sarah Palin. It was seeable awhile ago. They are terrified of her. She will not only take the Presidency, she will be responsible for the Democratic loss of seats in the House and Senate. She, like Reagan, will undo a lot of the bad law that has been passed by this crew. They know it and that’s why they try to take her down every chance they get. This article is just one example. I cannot wait for November 2012. The Mayan calender is perhaps prophetic for them.

For liberal losers who deal in feelings rather than of facts, this could become dangerous. "

" You actually manifested physical symptoms because Palin seems like she "might run", and that offends you deeply because of all the Left wing nonsense you've heard from your friends, and you feel the overwhelming need to take a shot at her publicly. In fact, you can't help but publicly humiliate her, no matter what she does. Just the fact that her very name has "intruded" in your "space", requires you to lash out, not only to vent your frustration but to publicly assure your Left wing friends that, yes, your hate is still strong.

Palin Derrangement Syndrome. That's all I gotta say. "

" What I really don't understand is this: If indeed Sarah Palin is such a dolt, an idiot and unqualified publicity seeker, why are you so upset about her? Were you so angry and horrified at the possible candidacy of Donald Trump? What about good old perennial candidate Ralph Nader?

It seems to me, observing all the hysterical vitriol directed toward Mrs. Palin, that it's because she's a beautiful woman who might possibly have a chance to win! I doubt if she could get the nomination, truly, but I cannot for the life of me figure out why she causes other women -- and liberal men -- to pop blood vessels when she is featured in Newsweek magazine. " We know that 9 of 10 welfare parasites in Chicago picked the current resident alien as President. What does that say? Your problem is that you think of yourself as so much brighter than everyone else, which is fairly normal yet still, erroneous. It is apparent that your choice is Obama, despite the fact that his policies have been abject failures. Look again at those 2 shoppers of 10, there are unemployed or can only get part-time work thanks to your choice. I can see why you don't publish your name with your writing. "

" I find it hilarious that those that hate Sarah Palin the most are those that feel a driving impulse to write about her. You are fixated on her so bad that even though (as you Say) she caused your blood vessel to pop...you chose to spend 5 minutes writing a hit column about her. Chill out, you are correct in that she will not run and if she does she will not be chosen to run further. Why should you be mad at her, it was Time magazine that chose to write about her.. WHY???????? because she makes good fodder for the Liberal media and also good money for them. And exactly what would we see if we were to see you checking out the chips in the local store.... Constant denigration of your fellow Americans can only cause a serious lack of readership for your column. Please read the "Please Note" below the Post Comment area below your article and see if YOU have obeyed the rules I obeyed.. **********

In these ways Gov. Sarah Palin is out of step with the culture: She does not think that being non-judgmental is the highest good. She believes there is evil in the world and we should name it and stand against it. She is not intimidated by those deemed more important by the media. Counter to her reputation, she follows policymaking, understands it, and pronounces correctly on it. These things may outweigh her undeniable immersion in the pop-cultural swamp.

There is just one thing that should be remembered about Sarah Palin - she is smarter than 999 out of any 1,000 people in politics and the MSM. Thomas Sowell is smarter than everyone, so he out matches her; Victor Davis Hanson may, as well...but you won't find too many others who actually do.

She's running intellectual rings around everyone - and doing it so well that even her critics don't notice it, even if they have no wit to understand that they might not know as much as they think. We have seen this before, by the way - the man's name was Ronald Reagan.

SARAH PALIN’S history of executive and leadership positions (in brief):

1996 - Elected Mayor of Wasilla -

1999 - Reelected Mayor of Wasilla -

2002 - Elected as President of AK Conference of Mayors by fellow mayors in the state -

2003 - Appointed by Governor(and fmr Senator) as Chairman of AK Oil and Gas Agency (A major leadership post in the state’s most vital economic field and industry) -

2006 - Elected Governor -

2007 - Elected Chairman of Interstate Oil and Gas Compact, a multi-state/intl group focused on energy development -

2008 - Nominated by GOP as Vice Presidential nominee after being selected by party’s Presidential nominee ***

BARRACK OBAMA’S history of executive and leadership positions pre-presidency: _____________

That pretty much sums up my point.

Anybody that thinks Sarah Palin is not capable of being a great president, may have their mind changed by reading about her accomplishments. She not only stood up to corrupt Republicans, she fired, fined, and jailed them. She not only stood up to big oil companies, she beat them at their own game, and brought them in line. “Conservatives4Palin” has a lot of information. Also, her book, “Going Rogue,” and apparently the new documentary film, “The Undefeated.”

Don’t judge her, at least until after you do research. If there is someone better to be our president, please tell me who. "
