Stress-related condition ‘incapacitates’ Bachmann; heavy pill use alleged

In late July 2010, Rep. Michele Bachmann’s then-communications director, Dave Dziok, told his boss that he planned to take a new job with the public relations firm Edelman.

Dziok had worked for Bachmann for two and a half years, a relatively long period by the standards of her office, and was leaving on good terms.

Staff turnover can frustrate any employer, but Bachmann responded more dramatically. Dziok’s departure triggered a debilitating medical episode that landed the congresswoman in urgent care.

“Within 24 hours she was in the hospital,” a former aide says.

Bachmann was admitted to a Washington, D.C. hospital on Friday, July 30, and released that same day. She flew home to Minnesota to recuperate, missing a scheduled campaign event with Sen. Roy Blunt.

Sarcasm alert

c. 1860.Female hysteria was a once-common medical diagnosis, made exclusively in women, which is today no longer recognized by modern medical authorities as a medical disorder. Its diagnosis and treatment were routine for many hundreds of years in Western Europe. Hysteria was widely discussed in the medical literature of the 19th century. Women considered to be suffering from it exhibited a wide array of symptoms including faintness, nervousness, insomnia, fluid retention, heaviness in abdomen, muscle spasm, shortness of breath, irritability, loss of appetite for food or sex, and "a tendency to cause trouble".

Since ancient times women considered to be suffering from hysteria would sometimes undergo "pelvic massage" — manual stimulation of the genitals by the doctor until the patient experienced "hysterical paroxysm" (orgasm).[1]

I want to run for public office. This is true. But I won’t because my past is not pure. The media would make mincemeat of me.

As they are doing now with Bachman.

I don’t care what she’s done, what ugliness they bring up, I’m for her.

Are we going to let the left decide for us again? Use our “morals” against us? There is nothing so degrading in her past that a liberal has not done and been proud of it.

Screw them. This is WAR.

Or, tell me again how this will in the slightest affect her ability to be POTUS?

If her migraines are as serious as the article implies, she would not be able to serve as POTUS effectively. We cannot have a POTUS out of commission with an intense migraine for 24+ hours once a week. That's unreasonable and unacceptable. Her staff would be making decisions instead of her.

Great point!!!! I’m sick of all of this bashing. Just let me have the meat of what they are going to do and their voting record. All this he said, she said, sounds to much like gossip, it’s petty back biting, and childish.

In and out of a hospital on the same day, once. This is hardly a pattern, and there are many reasons one might visit an emergency room that have nothing to do with chronic debilitating conditions.

Aspirin doesn't work on migraines; so you can rule that out.

While there are over the counter, aspirinless pills that do work on migraines and stress headaches, those who have severe migraine, cluster,or stress headaches are prescribed more potent meds.

What is surprising, if true, is that at her age and after having five children, she still gets such overpowering headaches.

And before anyone tries to go after me for the above factual statement, men who suffer from migraine or cluster ( which are even worse than migraines ) headaches also get some relief ( not as many and/or a lessening of pain levels ) as the reach a certain age.

The article implies a lot of things. So what?

This whole thing has Romney written all over it. First, it is in a Romney friendly source. The DC. Secondly, I have a huge problem with this last part since I first read it:

The DC agreed to provide the sources anonymity because they were providing information only a select group of people could know, at great professional risk. Two sources independently provided detailed accounts of Bachmann’s condition. A third source confirmed that Bachmann frequently suffers from debilitating headache episodes.

If this is true, these people are going to be immediately known by the Bachmann team. How many people are privy to this type of medical info IF TRUE?

I think the Romney people took some bits and pieces of intel to make this story up. We all know this will be front page with the Lamestream for the rest of the week whether or not it is true. Meanwhile Myth goes about his lying and BS tour unhampered.

FUMR

I seriously doubt she has a serious migraine problem, at least one that can’t be successfully addressed with non-narcotic medication. It would have become an issue long before she officially declared. So if she has an aspirin or Tylenol habit — who gives a hey nonny?

"This is all anyone will want to talk about when talking to, or about, her."

You are so full of it..everyone gets a headache now and then. This entire hyperbolic story isn't even tabloid worthy...it's as powerful as a wet noodle.

“The more she gets bashed the more I think she is who Zero is afraid of.”

She is.

But this is not likely Obama’s doing. This shot is not from the Left, but from the dying Center. Toward its successfully charging Right.

Obama is in no hurry for a comparison of records between he and her. Medical, school, job performance... you name it.

It’s not the bashers, it’s the old media. Ho Hum, really ... Michele is (un)cool. Conservatives are the new ‘rebellion’. The old media is dead. That is the point of this story. Dead old media. The new media is getting the stories out, they are objective. How do so many people know what’s going on? It’s not O’liberal. We are all listening to other sources. My 83 year old dad listens to Rush.

Who first alleged she had “incapacitating” headaches at all? I don’t believe the furry tailed, whiskered rumor mills. All they have to say is “meow.” If she has these headaches she sure does a yeoman’s job of plowing on through them, as she is booked for many appearances right now.

Today you have approximately 30 minutes to make a life or death decision on behalf of the nation.

More like 5 minutes if you're in Washington and an enemy boomer launches an SLBM. Ten minutes later, the White House would be turned to plasma.
