boehner can’t seem to be able to stand up to pressure.
“Howd you like Arlen Specter 04-’10 because Rush went in the tank for the GOP in the 04 primary? Sorry, HT, Rush was worth something back in the 90s. Now, he’s a party tool.”
That happens when you drink too much iced tea. ;-)
Dear Southack,
I completely agree with you RE: whodat.org. A fly-by disrupter, I say. This person is here to annoy and will cause perfectly normal folks to go balistic.
I call LIAR and DISRUPTER as well.

” Mr. Geek vs. The Undertaker in WWF language.”
Not a bad comparison ;-)
I, too, heard the call and both of you are correct, IMHO. Read the transcript and Boehner backed off is earlier assertion that there was no deal:
SPEAKER BOEHNER: Rush, I'm trying to do what I taught my kids to do; the same thing my parents taught me to do: You do the right things for the right reasons, good things will happen."
That just didn't sound like a strong "no deal" comment to me.
While I can admire the attempt to interject a little lightheartedness into things, unfortunately we're hard on course to "seeing the violence inherent in the system".
Yeah, he’s not nearly as lockstep as some. But he’s a far cry from the guy who was touting Buchanan in ‘92. Or the guy who apologized for calling Bush II a conservative. I rarely listen to him anymore :(
The evil Dingy Harry not only gave the Senate the weekend off (after just excoriating the Repubs for taking it off), but he’s now thrown CCB in the garbage, refusing any discussion (let alone a vote) whatsoever.
Yet I heard late last night that either Moody’s or S&P endorsed CCB and said it satisfies their criteria.
Shame on you, Harry Reid. And FUBO.
“Amen - call your senators whether they are D or R - make them feel the heat”
Unfortunately, “my” senator is Claire McCaskill :-( Although, since she’s up for re-election next year, she’s trying to talk more conservatively these days.
I think Dingy Harry 86’d CC&B, which 66% of Americans support (according to a CNN poll!), because I think he was afraid it would pass in the Senate and land on Obama’s desk and BHO would veto it, showing him to be the saboteur he really is. So Reid took the fall for him.
That’s my theory, anyway, FWIW. :-)
“If he floats a deal that contains any tax increases of any kind, or a 10-year horizon for cuts, the Tea Party Caucus needs to remove Boehner from the Speakership.”
Believe me, he’s feeling the heat. If he caves, I think he knows that Paul Ryan will likely be the next Speaker the first of next year. I don’t care which motivator, personal or altruistic, works - just as long as it DOES.
And when are the Republicans going to take their case to the people and explain it well? I’m so sick of seeing all these POS tv commercials by BHO’s fans the AARP with the old folks scolding about medicare and social security cuts.
The R’s, at the very least, should run some telling everyone about the $500B in Medicare cuts guaranteed in Obamacare. And they should also do one telling people the truth that even if the debt ceiling isn’t raised, there’s enough revenue to pay the debt interest, social security checks, medicare/medicaid, military pay and pensions with some left over.
The public is woefully ignorant and easy prey to all the media propaganda from BHO and the Left.
“When he said those things about not wanting to be in uncharted territory by allowing a default, he effectively cut the legs right out from under the CC&B bill.”
I think, again, that a case needs to be made immediately (via tv/radio ads) to the people about CC&B and how S&P says it satisfies their credit rating standards, so that the public will put pressure on Reid for CC&B to be reconsidered by the Senate. Oh, wait - he’s in for another 5 years, so he doesn’t give a s**t what the American people want.
But how do we argue the case for not raising the debt ceiling under any circumstances, losing our credit rating, our T-bills devalued and having interest rates on everything rise astronomically? People would be out with torches and pitchforks, going after...the evil Republicans, and BHO will be guaranteed a second term.
CC&B would’ve been the perfect solution. But I do wholeheartedly agree that the R’s should NOT agree to any tax increases. The mistake of trusting the Dems that Bush 41 made must never be repeated.
Stick it where the sun don’t shine. Boner is a Milly mouth weasel looking for a way to cave, he has already proved that point twice.
