He is being questioned under the country’s terrorism laws and is cooperating with the investigation, they said.
“We are not sure whether he was alone or had help,” a police official, Roger Andresen, said at a televised press conference, adding: “What we know is that he is right-wing and a Christian fundamentalist.” So far Mr. Breivik has not been linked to any anti-jihadist groups, he said.

a facebook page that neatly claimed he was a conservative christian, was made only a few days ago, when certainly the bomb and attacks were already planned.
and as little jeremiah and others have pointed out, he couldn’t have invented how to make bombs without help, acquired everything, etc., alone.
(remember the failed NY Times Square bomb, and the many failed practice bombs of McVey and Nichols? this guy had help. and i’m betting it was Muslims.

From what I have read Jihad Watch has stated that “Fjordman” is his screen name.
A few things being reported often this morning on Sky News are that the shooter owned a farm and had purchased six tons of fertilizer in May. He had a permit or license as a farmer which allowed him to make that purchase.
Some still think he couldn’t have committed both acts, but that evidence suggest he probably did, whether alone or with some help. I’m thinking he acted alone at this point.
Should that be in Breaking News?
Who took that picture??? It must have been from a helicopter? Why didn’t they stop him?
All this just does not fit. I read that the kids were assembled to be “addressed” by the “policeman”. The pictures of the van and two huddled groups and this one of them at the edge of the water don’t seem to fit. The account the young girl gave mentions the buildings..... It appears there were no adults, no one in charge of these kids.
Over at Pajamas Media, it was pointed out that Norway has very few cops on a per capita basis. It was less than half of what Sweden has for example. So the bombs in Oslo would have made for a very effective diversion of official attention while he commences his shooting spree elsewhere. Norway is a country that’s still not even begun to come to grips with increasing criminal violence among Islamic immigrants let alone how to deal with and respond to actual large scale attacks like this one.
The use of a cop uniform was diabolically effective. The following quote from an AP article today nails it —

And news reports continually refer to “a farm he owned”, but they are not saying he was a farmer, and I haven’t yet heard any particular occupation attributed to him.

The Democrats in this country actually have a tender faith in the law-abiding nature of the American People, while they are undermining the rule of law, destroying the impact of elections and inciting hatred and violence at every turn. Somehow, the socialists believe that only they will benefit from threats and violence in society. They are incapable of thinking about more than the immediate action. They cannot think about the reaction and what will happen, if others take up their methods.

Of course one real point to be made is that no one on the island must have had a gun to stop him. This case is an argument for legal possession, not gun control.
Spiegel.de reports the response time was 30 minutes. That’s still 30 minutes too late.
To me, the lesson of that island massacre is EDC, every day carry. Not just for defense, but also first aid.
We have to be our first responders.
It appears the perp was a blogger for Jihad Watch and Gates of Vienna who went by the pseudonym of “Fjordman”.
