Boehner on Hannity "We can't let perfect be the enemy of the good" (using Obama's phrases)

He's using the same language that Obama used to sell Obamacare to the public.

Hannity gave both Cantor and Boehner total softball interviews. Very disapointed.

Bottom line: 5B in cuts next year for a 1000B debt limit raise today.

He’s lost every battle so far

Actually, Boehner's winning the "hike tax" battle quite vigorously against Obama...so much so that Gloria Borgia rightly said yesterday that Obama is now the only one in DC now saying he wants to hike taxes.

That alone is quite an achievement.

I don’t like Cantor for Speaker. He’s another RINO who occasionally has a sterling moment.

Hannity has made some awesome points and asked some great questions. But when he has the chance live with these policy makers, he seems to forget the great points and questions he made. Then after they are off the phone, he goes back to the great points and questions.

You are really embarassingly wrong in your attribution.

Before Obama, there was Voltaire:

Dans ses écrits, un sàge Italien
Dit que le mieux est l'ennemi du bien.

(In his writings, a wise Italian
says that the best is the enemy of the good)

Before Voltaire, there was Aristotle and the Golden Mean, which warned against extremism in thought.

Confucious had something to say about it, too.

Pre-Obama.

I promise.

I listened to Boehener on the radio today tell Rush Limbaugh that meaningful cuts won’t be possible because of all the baby boomers retiring, and that the cuts for 2012 are 7 Billion, instead of 6 Billion (Like that makes it OK), and that Obama gets his Trillion Dollar spending spree money now and we will wait years if not forever for any cuts, because that’s the way it’s done in Washington.

That does it for me. I want Boehener fired with the rest of them, and I want the government to undergo a limited shutdown for the duration of Obamas remaining term. They should be cutting a Trillion a year and de-funding agency after agency. Instead we are being offered chump change that will never materialize and not a single significant cut to ANY agency whatsoever.

It’s enough to make me want to vote for Ron Paul! (Expletive deleted)

Stop the madness!

Boehner on Hannity "We can't let perfect be the enemy of the good"

Nor can we permit "RINO" to be the enemy of "REALITY"!

Everytime I hear this, it’s usually fronm some wimpy person defending a really wussie idea. I don’t remember hearing it from Ronald Reagan, although he might have said it, but the first time I heard it was from a so-called pro-lifer who was pushing legislation in my state for a bill containing the rape and incest exceptions. There were those who wanted a bill without those exceptions. This person gave a TV interview and uttered that phrase. I hated it then, and I have no use for it now.

I heard that interview as well.

It leaves one thinking that if Bonehead believes he can’t cut because of the “Baby Boomers”, then there are only two ways to deal with the out of control spending.

1. Increase Taxes a whole lot and I mean a whole lot

2. Our country collapses under the weight of spending we cannot pay for.

Neither one is a good option

Yeah...but his stance on taxes has been admirable.

...and right now it looks like a winner

I really don't blame him, he attracts the soccer mom's and the Republicans need that (I honestly pay him that compliment).
But after being on this forum for a few years (and being trounced regularly ;) ) and getting my logic (rightfully) dinged in contrast to Conservatism; its helped me grow far beyond the talking heads. Do you really think Hannity could survive a good FR flame war (out in the open)?

/speaking of, haven't seen an epic flame war in a loooong time....let the animals in the basement out to play mod's? ;)

Ya'll forgettin' Shifty gettin' beat by "generic", "no-name", "unidentified" Republican in 2012 polls.

Let Bobo do what Bobo gonna do, cuz a government shutdown is gonna stick to him. I saw a FReeper post earlier today that was dead on -- the MSM can say w/e, Bobo can cry "Bush's fault!" -- but the People know.

NO PRESIDENT HAS EVER WON RE-ELECTION BLAMING A BAD ECONOMY ON HIS PREDECESSOR. NEVER. CARTER TRIED, AND WE THREW HIM IN THE BRER PATCH.

Debt ceiling raised 1 trillion guaranteed. Cuts are based on planed talks, I’m sure the talks are guaranteed, but not much else.

OMG what are they going to do about the FY2012 budget? The budgets will never get passed with the amount of spending that the Rats want so they will put some crap together with more economic terrorism and threats? A Trillion dollar increase in the debt at roughly 4 billion new deficit added to the debt per day means we will be revisiting this monkey again in 250 days.

Now is the time to reform all the entitlement programs, let the leaderless rats kick and scream all they want, we are talking about the number 1 national security threat....

This debate is brain dead simple. Does America want its solvency or Do they want the end of America?
