So kindly dismount as gracefully as you can from that high horse.

You're right. But he's also right. One of these days, we're going to wake up and find a Muslim or a Secular dictatorship in charge of our countries. It's a toss-up as to whether it happens to the US or UK first.

And America is in deep financial trouble, is fighting a war in Afghanistan, has cancelled its space programme, has a weapons scandal involving a major govt agency......

Yet most Americans seem to be more interested in the NFL lockout, American Idol, reality shows, TMZ and whats in the National Enquirer.

There is a lot of truth in what you are saying. The US has been nearly as irresponsible about immigration as has Britain. We seem to be having a contest to see who can have the stupidest immigration policy.

But the financial problem can be solved. The resources for Afghanistan are fairly tiny when compared against past wars. There will be a future for the space program as soon as the current administration leaves. We have somewhat of the same attention to tabloid news as Britain (although not nearly as bad).

But the Islamic problem in Britain is a great deal worse than what we have. There would never be any Muslims bold enough to try to enact Sharia Law anywhere in the US, at least not in the immediate future. If that happened, they would be crushed like the insects that they are. Eventually Britain will be forced to deal with its Muslim problem and it's not gonna be pretty. We will deal with it as well but (and this is gonna make you mad) we will be much tougher than you. The Brits are far too polite to realize what they are up against. And another thing that's in our favor, a much larger percentage of the US population is armed than what you have in Britain. That's a big advantage we have.

No, I am not young.
State Governors controll their own state National Guards, and can lease them to the Feds for foreign wars.
No President can lawfully order a State National Guard against the will of a Governor.
No President can lawfully order the DOD to conduct internal police actions against the USA citizenry.

As a former USAF NCO, it would have been my official duty to refuse to implement any such unlawfull order.
