What really needs to happen is that the Senate GOP needs to filibuster Reid's POS. Until this is finally resolved, we need to be able to say that the only legislation voted on and passed was from the House. We need to make Reid, the Senate, and Ozero look like what they really are...a bunch of do nothings that have done nothing but say no and conspire to pin this on Republicans all along, when in reality, it has only been Republicans who've been trying to actually get something done.

Reid and Obama need to be exposed for what their goal has been all along.

My brother bought a place in Costa rica, and a decade later he bought 4 acres in Honduras. He expects to use the Honduras property when the SHTF.

I’m noticing that public awareness of what is happening, beginning with the housing collaps, has been growing exponentially. And this latest congressional bickering has made it pretty much a verticle graph the last couple of weeks.

The “end” could literally be any day. Or a year from now.

If you’re going to pass something that will be tabled anyway, pass something in the House that you can really live with- put the Ryan budget back up, CCB, etc. Make it look like you’re actively doing something to solve the problem, and put the onus on the Dems to react.

Then ask the phony “moderate” Dems what exactly it is that they are looking for here to get on board. Isolate them, and put them on the spot. Make it look like we will “default” all because of the intransigence of a handful of Senate Dems...

Naming more Post Offices as we type. Glad the priorities are straight.

The WH is playing a huge game of chicken.

My cynical side says Obama views it as a win-win. If the deadline passes with no resolution and everything starts cratering then he has accomplished his puppetmaster's orders, and if he pulls out a secret plan at the 11th hour and can cause the GOP to cave and pass it, then he regains the adulation of his fawning useful idiots and rides it to a reelection in 2012. Grant it, I hope this is all completely wrong.

That the GOP leadership is stupid. They did their job with CCB. What’s the point of sending over CCB lite when they know it’s going to be DOA? Other than to give Harry Reid a vehicle to make the bill even crappier and then shove the it back to the house.

You can only bamboozle when you have a majority in the Senate. There are tricks to avoid the filibuster. But there are not tricks whereby the minority can out vote the majority. If you have a popular President on the side of the minority sometimes you can peel off part of the opposition.

The GOP in the House was unified under CCB. The past week we’ve seen big divisions over a watered down CCB that’s never going to make it through the Senate. The House passed CCB. It’s not their problem/fault if the Senate refuses to take it up. Boehner should get in front of a mike and say ‘we’ve done our job, and we’re recessing until the Senate does theirs.’

In which case the House returns the favor. Way past time the GOP quit playing with these clowns.

CCB is the compromise Bill Reid. You and your Senatorial clowns can pass it or default, the choice is yours.

I was told the 3.0 plan would raise the debt cap twice: once for the short term and the 2nd time only with a passed balanced budget amendment that is sent to the states for ratification.

That sounds pretty good except that the ACORN states could probably kill it and send right back to where we are now.

I am proud of the TEA PARTY Caucus.

forcing the GOP to develop, vote on and submit a different bill

Dead wrong. The House has now passed 2 bills, they are under no obligation to continue letting Harry Reid be Senate Majority Leader and Speaker of the House. They could tell Harry "You got your bills, we aren't sending you any others, vote for one them or default. The choice is yours".

My very liberal sister was in Italy last year and was so impressed that when she had to visit a doctor there that they didn’t even bill her. She said - what a wonderful system!

A couple of days ago she told me that her dermatologist is quitting private practice and she is alarmed - like she doesn’t understand why he would do that.

Lots of liberals have no clue about the cause and effect of their pie in the sky policies. There is no free healthcare.

This is the GOP’s last chance. I’m hoping against hope that boner is waiting until the last minute to send it to the senate. At that point there will be no time to change it and send it back. Hoping against hope.

If they blow this, there will be a third party and the GOP will be no more. Let the dems have it. Let them destroy the country. It’s going to happen sooner or later anyway. Let’s get it over with.

Then again, I’m getting old. I’m going to grab hold of the government teat and live out my days. And to think about it, I don’t know why we hate people on the government dole. Both parties live off the government. And live pretty well, too.

All these other bills have done is cause a civil war within the GOP (ok, I’m being a bit dramatic there). The House and Senate GOP, the tea party, grassroots and mainstream T]Republicans were all unified around CCB.

The White House and Harry Reid are running a huge bluff and our problem is the moronic leadership in the House GOP is falling for it.

he mask is slipping form the DC Political media machine. The truth is coming out. This is why Progressive Facists in the 0-bot media are in hysteria today

The big DC political machine lie of this whole thing is the GOP needs a bill.

NO, the 0 Democrats need a bill. They are the party of spend. They are the ones who have to go to the voters in 2012 and defend their total mishandling of the economy for the last 4 years.

The GOP candidate in 2012 is going to be running against DC. The 2012 election will be a referendum on 0’s Presidency.

Time for people to quit buying the propaganda fed them by the DNC Media-Political machine, the 0 Dems, not the GOP, will be hurt the worst by a failure to strike a deal.

Here what you do GOP, you tell the Senate “Sorry but all your Debt bills are D.O.A. CCB was the compromise, if you want a bill, there it is.”

This had nothing to do with the GOP.

What about this do you not get?

The Senate won’t vote or even open debate on any measure sent to them.

None of the bills will stop the downgrade. NONE OF THEM.

This isn’t about the wording of the bills.

The House needed to stop after CCB. They did their job, let the Senate and President cause default.
