Both parties live off the government

Last GOP President and Congress 2006. Federal Budget Deficit $160 billion

Last Democrat Congress and President 2010, Federal Budget Deficit 1.7 Trillion

If you cannot see the clear difference between the two parties it because you are not even bothering to look.

Maybe boner is going to wait until the markets are closed then say “Take it or leave it.” The dems will have Saturday and part of Sunday to come up with something before the markets open Sunday afternoon.

Yes it does. It’s not about what the Senate will or won’t pass. It’s about the GOP establishment basically giving the conservatives and grassroots the middle finger this past week. I’ve never seen establishment republicans and movement conservatives so upset with each other. This is like the CR all over again. That wasn’t the case until Boehner threw up CCB lite.

Except McConnell's plan to allow the president to have debt limit authority; where a minority has power to avoid the congressional override.

The GOP should have another Bill ready to go but tougher than the last. Keep submitting Bills and show the people what the Democrats are all about.

Fine. House should vote and take the weekend off. These thieves in the Dem Senate get the House of Representatives to jump through rings of fire THREE FRIGGN TIMES to do what??? VOte to not VOTE??? They can take their pick of the 3 bills that have been submitted and VOTE. They cannot merely mark themselves present. Pass the Ryan budget, the CC&B or this latest one. Take your pick. TGhe work of the House has been done. The work of the Senate has not. And the will of the people has not. This sits with THEM. Freaking cowards. Meanwhile, 0boomba celebrates his birthday on the backs of the American people. This may end badly..but it must end. I am sick of getting slapped in the face by the utter disregard of this, the worst administration in the history of our nation.

First of all, the deficit should have been zero with a GOP president and congress.

Second, what was the deficit in 2008? W couldn’t find a veto pen?

NO. No more. The House could be doing this circle for the rest of this term. It stops NOW. THey have door number 1 - Ryan’s budget, door number 2 - CC&B and door number 3 - whatever moves tonite. Let them bring them up for a vote or face the wrath of the American people. Those Senate lines should be on fire this weekend.

What version of the BBA would be sent to the States? We’d need, what, 47 Democrats for it to pass the House. Fat chance of that happening.

“Republicans were all unified around CCB.”

—Yep. We have 100% of the votes in the House for CCB, and 90+% of the needed Senate votes... and yet the GOP completely rolls over for a handful of “moderate” Dems (who will go home over break and tell voters what “fiscal hawks” they are despite this).

It’s one of the stupidest things I’ve ever seen...

Wow...you really don’t.

0bama won’t compromise...Boehner walks away.
Boehner sends up CCB....Lackey Reid table it.
Boehner attempts CCB lite...Senate Dems. send letter of DOA

Democrats succeed in creating gnashing of teeth with-in republican party. ( Pass the popcorn please)

Reid starts circulating the 0bama plan/bill
0bama threatens the 14th

Both of which were the goal of the regime all along. Nothing Boehner or the republicans did was going to get through. NOT A DARN THING.

The GOP got played and punked. 0bama is making sure the House republicans know their place. You don’t walk out on a Chicago thug trying to crash the system.

I can’t explain everything but I can explain the parliamentary trick being played here:

Boehner gets a weak bill through the House that the RINOs in the Senate will support.
Reid kills, “tables”, it.

He sends his own bill up but Senate rules require 40 Senators to agree to anything- the language in the bill, the procedures for handling the bill.
That’s called ‘cloture’.

The Senate RINOs, because the House gave them a weak bill they can support, block the cloture votes Reid needs unless the bill includes the two-part debt ceiling mechanism and cuts bigger than the debt increase.

That’s it in a nutshell. Not a ‘bamboozle’ just everyday politicking.

Boehner’s next speech:

“The irresponsible Senate leadership has now rejected 3 budgets. They actually took the time to defeat the President’s budget, 97-0. They haven’t had the courage to bring either house proposal to the floor, either for discussion, a vote, or ammendment. The Senator’s who’ve spent the last 6 months criticizing the work of the House, have done nothing to produce a plan for conducting the business and maintaining the obligations of the American government!”
“Mr. President, YOU have a problem! Perhaps it’s time to focus your attention on your friends in the Senate, who have produced NOTHING, and stop criticizing those in the House, who have worked so hard on behalf of the American people.”

Who knows...they’ve played the PR side of this horribly though.

If Reid’s Bill makes it out of the Senate, the House GOP is left holding the bag and with either half to accept it or take the blame. We are now backed into the corner.
