The 22 Patriots who voted against the Boehner Reed Trap
07/29/2011 | Brices Crossroads

Posted on 07/29/2011 4:47:03 PM PDT by Brices Crossroads

The following twenty-two House members stood firm and opposed the Boehner bill, which is nothing more than a vehicle which will be sent to the Senate, reworked by Harry Reid into something even worse than it already is, and then returned to the House. Boehner will dutifully bring it up and the Tea Partiers who voted for it will then vote against it, but it will not matter. Boehner and Reid will pass the Bill in the House with Democrat votes and Obama will sign it. The votes today cast by conservatives, many of whom are good people, are very much like the Christmas vote for the Health Care Bill. The original House bill contained prolife language, the so-called Stupak Amendment. It passed and went to the Senate which stripped the Stupak Amendment from the final bill. It came back and passed in the House with many proaborts voting for it even though many of the so-called pro-life Democrats voted against the final bill. Voting to advance this bill was a huge mistake. It pains me to say it, because I like many of the Congressmen who voted for it. But the truth is the truth.

The Hall of Fame:

Please post the names of those who waited until it had 218 before voting, if you know who they are.

Sorry, but I disagree with the assessment that the 22 No-voters are “heroes” in this situation. There are times when you have to “cooperate and compromise” and I feel this was one of them. It’s fine to have HIGH IDEALS but our country is going down the tubes and those of us who are trying to save it have to stick together—and it is especially important to show a UNITED FRONT against the DEMO-maniacs.

I’m not trying to start an argument or even a debate on this so much as expressing a personal “uninformed” opinion based simply on common sense. When you are going under for the third time, you don’t waste time and energy fantasizing about some more ideal vacation spot—you do what you have to do to get your head above water. There’ll be time for those high-flying IDEALS later on, unless you DROWN NOW. —Just my opinion.

Besides, I went to school with that blockhead Tim Johnson and he was a pompous jacka$$ then and hasn’t apparently improved with age!

“In the far future Boehner will not be known however these 22 may very well be remembered via a memorial to freedom.”

This sounds like wishful thinking to these naive ears. We all know that SOME kind of “deal” will be made, regardless of who votes for or against it! It’s not like they’re going to just STOP ALL SPENDING AND LET OUR CREDIT RATING GO ALL TO HELL, and even if they did, how in heck would THAT solve anything?, let alone enhance America’s “freedom”?

More likely than not, the evil Hungarian will have some “say” in what ultimately occurs—and HE more than anyone probably stands to GAIN because he’s so adept at BETTING AGAINST PEOPLE AND NATIONS WHO ARE IN A VULNERABLE POSITION.

The house won’t vote it down, because the democrats will vote for it.

This is no different than the traitor republicans in the senate that voted to let health care bill come up for debate, while claiming it was only fair to debate the issue. They knew full well what the outcome was going to be.

In the mean time we have let less than 2% of the population destroy our schools, our military and threaten the very faith of our Nation, but we can go on and worry about a phony debt crisis, while our royalty continue to create the One World Order they have dreamed of for centuries.

Funny you use that analogy. If you are drowning you don’t keep breathing water. If you are deep in a hole, you stop digging. The Boehner Bill sets us up for more water and an ever deeper hole.

Congressman Gowdy was right. CUT CAP and Balance WAS the compromise. No one but the House GOP “led” by Boehner is dumb enough to bid against itself out of fear of a 40% President.

Obama’s media guy Jay Carney said the passing of the bill in the House was “moot and irrelevant” and certain to fail in the Senate.”

Maybe it won’t pass in the Senate, because the Dems won’t compromise. Aren’t they telling the Republicans to compromise?

The Republicans already compromised - the bill doesn’t go far enough.

This is the line of thinking that nearly kept Britain out of WWII and Churchill from coming to power. Would all have worked out well if the Appeasers in power then and their German whisperers had succeeded?

My point is that some Americans have become convinced there is really only one party in this country now and that party is composed of two lineups, Team A which is in power currently, and Team B the Appeasers, which sometimes are in power.

The 2010 elections were a strong attempt to get better public servants onto Team B, to begin setting things right, the way a good many Americans still believe Government should function Constitutionally.

Regardless if some of the 22 had knees knocking, they DID vote No, which their constituents expected them to do.

I have heard West explain exactly why he was going to vote for this, and I will tell you something,YOU don’t have the gravitas to dis West in any way shape or form. The man has more honor in his little finger than most members of the entire government combined. Shame on you.

Nobody, but NOBODY, is “going down for the third time” here.

The world as we know it is NOT going to go up in flames if the debt ceiling is not raised by Monday.

But spending money you don’t have, or won’t get in the foreseeable future, WILL eventually result in disaster.

If the line is not drawn now, then when?. If not by the heroic 22, then who?

To my South Carolina representatives: BRAVO!

West has plenty of honor, but he is dead wrong on this, just as he was on the Pigford reparations. Bob

What is your major malfunction??? Why are you so freaking obsessed with dissing Palin? I am getting so damn sick of this petty crap of yours on every single thread whether it’s a Palin thread or not, and THIS isn’t. Lemme tell you one of the good things about Palin and see how YOU like it. One of the goodest things about Palin is she is NOT bachmann. Put THAT in your pipe and choke on it!

He is human being, a fine one at that, and sometimes humans can be wrong. I will never dis the man for voting his conscience. At LEAST he has one! You know that, al.

Yes West has plenty of honor, Yes I like West, and yes West is wrong on this.

And I would add that a threat to primary any politician who doesn't vote correctly on this budget battle is appropriate and that includes one of my favorite congressmen, Alan West.

No cults please.
