The DEA agents were executing a search warrant.
“I kept asking, what’s going on?” he said. “And they held my neck to the ground so I can’t talk.”
According to the report, the DEA was executing a search warrant for Tossa’s landlord’s son, who apparently uses Tossa’s one-story house’s address for mailing.
“Before they raid any house, they should have more information,” Tossa said. “Not rumors.”

What bugs me about these stories is that the guys doing this are supposedly also USA citizens. I have to wonder where/when does this lopsided aggression get started. Have we as a Nation lost human concept that as individuals we should do unto others as we would have them do unto us or the similar admonition of let your conscience be your guide.

“Condition the citizenry”. Except only we’re a “population” not citizens anymore. Citizens have rights and are to be treated with respect.
It is a natural tendency of bureaucrats to move towards tyranny, and that is a separate issue from any vehicle they may use along the way.

The transition from a job whose purpose is to take life to a job whose purpose is to protect life must be very difficult, even though similar tactics and weapons are used.
So, they don't bother and go by nothing more than their own scribbled notes taken from interviews with druggies.
Presumably the requirement keeps them honest and avoids privacy violations.
So, they do without the warrant and use the address from some other source.
It's stupid of course, but there are still people alive who were involved in a Mail Cover operation for Richard Nixon who can tell you that in the long run even that warrant doesn't protect you from the druggies, Commies and assorted POS in the news media who protect them.
The Leftwingtards have been 100% responsible for every bad raid in modern American history.
Between raids gone bad for whatever reason (the citizenry sees SWAT and the investigating officer as one entity), enforcement of traffic laws for revenue instead of safety, and a far-too-common “you are just a civilian peon” attitude from many cops, and you have a strong erosion of the public’s confidence in LEOs as a group.
I do appreciate your sticking with it here, and your comments such as those in #9. Most conservatives really don’t hate cops, and don’t want to dislike the institution. That said, my attitudes have changed greatly on this in the last decade or so, and I’m far from the only one like this. The fact that this is occurring should lead to some serious soul searching in the profession. It is something LEOs very much need to address from the inside.
The only thing I can say is, that most of the blame for that should be placed on the States Attorney and the investigative officer(s).
So basically you are saying the entry team can successfully plead the Nuremberg Defense and be absolved of any responsibility, no matter what level of violence and death results of their efforts.
Since it appears that this "blunt" object has zero responsibility or common sense, it follows that even a "warrant" scratched out on the back of a McDonald's receipt would also be considered a valid order to smash down a fellow American's property and put their lives in immediate jeopardy.
Your comments are absolutely no different from excusing some drug cartel enforcers from butchering a family because they did it on orders from on high.
Just like private businesses, this will not stop until they’re held accountable both civilly and criminally. SWAT teams are needed and the training is warranted and required. However, their overuse is absolutely ridiculous and as is the case in Arizona and the Pima County SO, people will die for no reason. There are much better and more efficient ways for police to operate, the last of which should be a military style entry into someones home. Especially the wrong one.
Swat teams are not needed, and never have been.
The situations for which this is appropriate (strictly a subgroup of armed hostage situations where the perp is known to be highly skilled or paramilitarily armed) are rare enough that the use of national guard MPs obtained by going through the state governor provides an adequate force. That used to be what was done.
It is not done this way now simply because state governors are directly accountable to.the people, and the left wanted a force available somewhat sheilded from the voters.
So what if anything are you doing to stop them?
Never open the door if you don’t know who is on the other side. If they don’t acceptably identify themselves and start breaking in the door, it is decision time.

Seems to me a Magistrate has to authorize a search warrant. What did they tell that joker regarding the rationale to support an arrest. Clearly because the last name of the property records is the same as they guy we are looking for is not enough IMO.
Magistrates used to take these matters seriously from my experience in the 70’s and 80’s. What the hell changed all that?

I hate it when cops shoot the pet dog. It’s like they are the big dog and want to kill the little dog. Much better research has to be done before these no-knock drug raids by wanna be ninjas.
Aside from that we need to toughen our drug laws so pushers get tried and hanged. This would be hard drug pushers. Marijuana sellers I would exile from the United States for 5 years
