Skip to comments.Yes Dorothy, President Obama Is A Very Bad Wizard

It was Dorothy's dog Toto, a standard bred cairn terrier, in the 1939 movie classic "The Wizard of Oz," tugging at the black curtain, who revealed the Great and Powerful Oz to be nothing more than a humbug,
"Why, you're not a wizard at all, you're just a man! And you're a very bad man for pretending to be a wizard," exclaims Dorothy. Professor Marvel, chagrined after having been defrocked, and exhausted, unable to sustain the charade, replies apologetically, " Oh no my dear, I'm a very good man, just a very bad wizard."
A parallel lesson, just as profound and more instructional, is the sorry consequence that befalls a nation after it chooses a president based on identity politics alone, where the subject of infatuation is mere vaporware, just an imaginary figment, a momentary reflection from a wistful gaze into a crystal orb.
Obama is finished. The election in 2012 won't be close. The Republicans would have to nominate someone hopelessly inept and obnoxious to enable Obama's resuscitation.
Obama is sharing the exit script with Oz's onetime Wizard, vanishing as the hot air balloon ascends uncontrollably. "I can't come back. I don't know how it works."

i NEVER underestimate their ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
“The Republicans would have to nominate someone hopelessly inept and obnoxious to enable Obama’s resuscitation.”
Well . . . yes.
Is this supposed to be reassuring?
Paging John McCain to the white courtesy phone. John McCain....
If TRUMP (or anyone else) runs third party, Obama will be re-elected.
They care more about making certain the GOP fails than defeating Obama and the RATS.
Obama is NOT finished. He has Trillions of Dollars which he can use to buy votes and strangle the economy with. Don't count him out. Remember the woman looking for the Obama money? Well there are millions more like her.
I'm hoping enough people will understand the importance of getting rid of Bambi, that the third partiers will be the ones to go down in flames alongside him.
I will JOIN those on the forum who wish to see the rhinos defeated...but I care more about winning the WAR, so I will support canidates who can win..

See my tagline
He knows how it works. Like any Marxist its his mission in life to put enough sand in the gears so that it won't work.
In fact, all that is necessary is the ~belief~ that the opposing candidate is a nut job. And the media has that issue well in hand.
You don’t have to be the “best” to win an election, just “better” than the other guy.
As long as the media stays on Obama’s side (and they will), he’s a shoe in.
Totally agree. It's definitely not 'over,' but Obama is in deep trouble and sinking further every time he opens his mouth.
We're going to win in 2012, but we're going to have to work for it. Our field is strong, but we'll have to work hard in the primaries to nominate the best candidate we can offer........one who is not afraid to pound hard against this disastrous Marxist punk who's pretending to be 'president.'
Oh, AMEN brother! There are plenty who, no matter how evil the left gets, no matter what Obama is doing to destroy this country, make sure we know that they hate the Republicans more than they hate him.
That's why they blend in so well with leftist trolls. Their enemy is the Republican party, not the traitors on the left.
Thats a very unconvincing argument. The Press demonized Reagan and propped up a 3rd Party candidate and the polls were close to the end and Carter still got swamped. QED.
The one we have to fear is TRUMP...Mr. Ego seems to think he can win and is signaling that he may run...
Wow. Living up to your name, I see. :)
Good thing you're wrong. There is no way in the world that Obama is a "shoe in."
This economy stinks, and everyone knows (even if they don't say it out loud) that it's Obama's fault.
He can't win without a miracle if we present even a decent candidate.
BHO is in deep trouble but it isn't going to be easy to defeat him. We have more people than ever dependant, to some degree on gov. for their existence. That's the wild card. Will people vote to give up the checks???
No third parties!!!! No Romney either!!!
I don't think he's anti-American enough to run as an Independent.
IMO, anyone who runs as a third party candidate is de facto, supporting Obama.
I don't particularly like Trump, nor trust his character, but I really don't think he'd do anything that stupid.
(I hope I'm not wrong about that!)
the ending of the Wizard of Oz always really bugged me. These guys get sent by this loser wizard on a suicide mission, they come back and he gives them a lecture and a bunch of crappy presents like a diploma. They are more than fine with it and forgive him immediately.
The Wizard’s real gift to them was the mission itself.
that may have been Trump’s plan all along, to pretend he’s a republican, and then to run as a third party.
He has donated a lot to democrats you know.
The scariest epiphany I had from reading Hayek is that this path leads to the most brutal taking over. When push comes to shove (as now when the debt is becoming unthinkable), uncomfortable choices must be made. Some people will be made happy, others not so much. Those who are willing to step on toes to please the "most" people will win elections. Unfortunately, the "many" on the receiving end of government transfers are approaching the status of "most".
As this trend continues, and more people get unhappy with diminishing returns, opposition turns from needed to be appeased to needing to be silenced, if not through ridicule or oppression, then exile or worse.
It's a scary path, indeed, and signs are all around that we're on it.
Yeah, But they also got Obama elected to begin with.
Given his lack of qualifications, not to mention his overtly socialist views, would anyone of us have imagined that?
Plus, the country is a lot further to the left these days then it was in Reagan’s time.
Heck, JFK would be to the right of most of today’s candidates.
Well, I hope you’re right.
And I may have overstated the case in terms of him being a “shoe in”. The election will probably be close.
But as to your points:
Yes, the economy is in a shambles. But it depends who the public blames for that.
And as for a “decent” candidate: Anyone can be demonized.
You’re right, good point. Thanks.
The media/left will most likely still try to blame Bush for the economy, but in 2012, only the hardcore obama-ites and the stupid will buy it.
I don't think it will work......and since there is no way with obama policies that the economy will improve in a year, it's going to work against him.
And of course, the media and the left will demonize any of our candidates (that's all they have, because they certainly don't have a record to stand on), but I think they overplayed their hand so much with Sarah Palin, that they've lost the majority on that.
Even with pumped up polls, Obama is polling in the low forties. He can't win with those numbers.
The only caveat would be if some dummy runs as a third party candidate and enough dummies vote for him and give the election to Obama.
In a two party election, I don't think Obama can win.
I can name two:
you win the kewpie doll!
Yes, the hedge funds called in their chits and Bush opend up the spigots to free govt money and everything was going to hell in handbaskets, so no surprise really.
BTW, Obama only got 53 % of the vote while Democrats in Congress got 59 % of the vote, so there was some kind of wariness there... Obama is definitely vulnerable.
