Cloward-Piven Paradise Now? (Good commentary)

Combine class warfare, demonizing the rich, getting as many people onto the welfare rolls as possible, and pushing the economic system to collapse and you have a flawless formula for Cloward-Piven 2.0 -- and a vehicle that ensures Obama remains in power.

Cloward-Piven is a much talked-about strategy proposed in the mid-1960's by two Columbia University sociology professors named Richard Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven. The Cloward-Piven approach was sometimes referred to as the "crisis strategy," which they believed were a means to "end poverty."

The premise of the Cloward-Piven collective/anti-capitalist gospel decried "individual mobility and achievement," celebrated organized labor, fostered the principle that "if each finally found himself in the same relative economic relationship to his fellows ... all were infinitely better off."

The duo taught that if you flooded the welfare rolls and bankrupted the cities and ultimately the nation, it would foster economic collapse, which would lead to political turmoil so severe that socialism would be accepted as a fix to an out-of-control set of circumstances.

The idea was that if people were starving and the only way to eat was to accept government cheese, rather than starve, the masses would agree to what they would otherwise reject. In essence, for the socialist-minded, the Cloward-Piven strategy is a simple formula that makes perfect sense; the radical husband-and-wife team had Saul Alinsky as their muse, and they went on to teach his social action principles to a cadre of socialist-leaning community organizers, one of whom was Barack Obama.

As the debt crisis continues to worsen, President Obama stands idly by an inferno with his arms crossed, shaking his head, and doing nothing other than kinking the fire hose and closing the spigot...

“I have because I have been hipdeep in this budget thing and Gunwalker.”

Hopefully, now, Gunwalker will move to media front burner. Best scenario is that Drudge is persuaded to carry a running storyline of the scandal.

Looks like the WH is using its pull to get in front of the avalanche of facts by presenting its own watered-down, G-rated version.

“The end game will always fail. You cannot expect a state that was bankrupted by welfare payments to be able to pay those same welfare payments after the bankruptcy.”

Oh, I quite agree. But long before the adherents and the advocates achieve that end, the effective destruction of the US will be irretrievably enacted. Those of us who see the false utopia of the dreams of the left for what they are won’t be gleefully mocking them “we won - you lost”. No, by the time the left gives up their ultimate goals, all we’ll be able to do is to say “see, we told you” from the next rice paddy over as we, like they, gather our daily harvest quotas of rice.

Fools like Piven can only see the pretty tulip poplars and none of the poison shumac forest behind them.

That's so true and yes, there was talking mule named Francis and probably a whloe lot smarter than Piven. :-)

Not if you were buying gold and silver, stocked up with food, got some weapons for defense, prepared for their collapse and moved yourself to the new country of Texas.

Some of us will actually welcome that, because all their debt will be finally off our backs.

We have elected 500 plus enemies of the Republic and now they are doing their work, pretending that they are trying oh so hard to save the economy while shoving the pistol in the mouth of the economy and pulling the trigger! Spending is the disease, but Congress, all of them the elite bastards, are the pustule oozing pus spreading disease. One of the sadde3st parts of this treachery from D’s and R’s is that we the people will not even be given an accounting of where these sonsabitches spend the borrowed money the gloablists are feeding them to destroy this nation’s sovereignty. Yes, that’s what I said, destroying this nation’s sovereignty. And do we know whom are the sovereigns?... Well, we the people were, but now we are merely the voting serfs too dumbed down to even rage against these pigs in office. We should have built the guillotines long ago. Now the vermin believe we cannot beat them at this flimflam.

Agree with your sentiments. IMHO - The Tea Party is the last shot to hold the country together, but at this point the odds of them succeeding are not very good. Kinda like the odds of a hobbit traveling to Mordor and destroying the one ring that rules them all. Not that it cannot be done, but goblins, orcs and trolls are not easy people to reason with. And to complete their quest, the hobbits will have to put that ring on from time to time and not succumb to its corrupting power.

Twitter stream. Need to watch everything. This woman is trying to divert teaparty people and using the birth certificate stuff as bait. We've seen a lot of that here on FR, although it's mostly weeded out.

You can trace them exactly to Zach de la Rocha (Frontman and lead commie for Rage Against the Machine) and Michael Moore (extreme sycophant of said).
