Forgot to specifically mention that first sentence. Farcical.
So, ‘improving slowly’ is measured by a .25% change in the numbers? If by slow, they meant as slow as a 90 year old bowel, then yes, the numbers are improving slowly.
Using the Labor Dept.’s math, the actual number will be revised upward to 405,000....
On the other hand, it could also mean that everyone has used up their unemployment benefits and are no longer elgible to receive unemployment checks.
Never mind these numbers, which will be “revised” next week. Last week CNBC was celebrating the first number in 17 weeks below 400,000. This week, that number was revised to 401,000, so there was nothing to celebrate after all.
Small businesses have fired everyone but their immediate family members, and we still manage to have over 400,000 new unemployment applications every week. This economy will not improve until The Worst President Ever leaves office.
This week will be revised upward also.
Such objectivity in that group, wow.
Does that mean that last week used to be the lowest but was revised upward so this week could be the lowest? I am so confused!
What a joke.
American Pravda doesnt understand basic statistics, or worse they do understand but they dont care and will print any lie as long as it makes Obama look good.
We are losing on average 425,000 jobs per week, now that doesnt mean we are losing exactly 425,000 every week, what that means is one week we might lose 400,000 while the next week we might lose 450,000 and the anything in between for the weeks after, but regardless of the up & downs of any individual weeks loss it will in the end average out to we are losing 425,000 per week. It called variability.
What America Pravda does is when the number is below average they will trumpet how what a wonderful recovery we are in and how the great Obama has saved us.
But for every below average week there will be an above average one, and when we have one of those, well according to the AP its just Unexpected or its because of the weather or because Easter came Early or other such nonsense.
If the numbers jump up again next week by 20,000 or so, by the liberal press’ assessment, it will be just a bump on the road. But, if that number again dips by a barely noticeable amount, then it will be great news for the “ongoing” recovery. The liberal press doesn’t even try to disguise their bias anymore.
It’s all “smoke and mirrors.”
Ignorant people (the majority) look at these numbers and say “Obama has finally turned the corner on unemployment.”
They are blind to the fact that THESE ARE NEW FILINGS...not the number unemployed. That number is CATASTROPHIC!
This article written by some guy named rugaber. But the yahoo article was accredited to “staff”. I’m thinking it was written by the white house.
That means that next week, the revised numbers will not be down a 1000, more than likely up by 3000.
Our state unemployment numbers went down and are quite low but unfortunately, it isn’t because we have created jobs it is because we have lost employment age population.
And the ADP monthly private hiring numbers have been steadily in the 125,000 range. There is no more government hiring, in fact state and local governments, who have to live within their means, are laying off workers. So net/net, we are losing jobs at a rate of 19 million jobs a year. At that rate, total employment will drop by 12.5% in 12 months.
The only thing which is keeping the unemployment percentage below 10% is the number of people who have given up looking for work.
