Tina Brown Says Her Newsweek Cover Conveys Michele Bachmann’s ‘Intensity’
NY Mag ^ | 8/8/11 | The TinaBeast

Newsweek has been catching a lot of flak today for its latest cover, in which Michele Bachmann is shown with an expression you might see on the face of a serial killer who has just spotted a new victim. Newsweek editor Tina Brown disagreed in a tweet today, contending that "Bachmann’s intensity is galvanizing voters in Iowa right now and Newsweek’s cover captures that." Really? It looks like it conveys, "This woman needs an exorcist."

No! This was another attempt to diminish with an an unflattering photo just like they did to Palin. Either lady looks better than Tina Brown.

Next time they put Obama on the cover, they should use this picture:

I think it captures his sensitivity to all cultures, and his willingness to reach out to all peoples.

“I think it captures his sensitivity to all cultures, and his willingness to reach out to all peoples.”

I think it shows his head is empty.

Wow. Bachmann is a fairly attractive woman, imo. This is the worst picture of her I’ve ever seen, so much so that it almost doesn’t look like her. I’m even questioning if there was some photoshopping around her chin and jawline areas. Newsweek, as usual, has no shame.

Michele Bachmann is not as photogenic as Sarah Palin. However, that is not a requirement for running for president, as LBJ and Jimmie Carter proved.

The real question is why any Republican bothers with cover photos on such Left-wing rags as Newsweak, Time and the NYSlime? It is a total waste of a candidate’s valuable time.

As Rush says, they tell us who they fear. They fear Bachmann’s campaign could catch fire. I’d love to see it happen.

Newsweak went broke by being too commie. Tina brown’s solution is to make Newsweak even more commie. That’s been her strategy with the other magazines she’s ruined.

Tina Brown , in a mostly unheralded reversal of the Peter Principle, rose to her “level on incompetence” and helped
put what used to be a classy magazine, The New Yorker, into a tailspin of irrelevance: her biggest contribution was that she introduced color illustrations into the mag.
Having ruined The New Yorker, she then plummets into an already irrelevant magazine, Newsweek, and continues the
trend of turning it into a tabloid masquerading as a journal of news. This entire part of the print media is on its way out-—it’s just taking way too long for me.
First the Palin cover, where she looks drained and mannish,
now Bachmann, who does indeed look possessed by some unholy demon. It’s SO blatant as to be laughable. And they pretend they DON’T see what everybody else sees.

Maybe they think that they can influence the story.

It doesn't work to make the story anymore favorable.

But the notion is that the story would be even worse, if they had not input and couldn't counter more obvious smears.

At least Palin’s cover made her look sort of like a man in the face..whereas this one looks like a serial killer.

Folks who make dictionaries are trying to decide about replacing "Peter Principle" with "Tina Brown" as the phrase leading to the definition...........
