You’re probably referring to Philadelphia Mayor Wilson Goode and the bombing of MOVE headquarters. The thing is, Police Commissioner Gregore Sambor, and Fire Commissioner William Richmond were more directly responsible, IIRC.

I also seem to remember a mayor’s office chief of staff that was responsible.
The MOVE hearings in the aftermath were enthralling.
I remember visiting those trendy Philly areas in the 80’s, the trendy inner city shopping areas where I felt safe walking from store to store after dark, sitting in outdoor cafes. Such a shame this is happening now.
But, But..... what about the Leftists’ “Summer of Rage” plans? How’s that supposed to happen without a racial element?
Huh... Can you imagine a white mayor saying exactly the same thing using exactly those same words?

They are preoccupied monitoring the comments and actions of El Rushbo and the 'racist' Tea Party.
We have had several incidents here in the Kansas city area the last several years...No one wants to talk about it...But it effects thousands of little decisions made by people every day...What part of town to avoid..where to shop...whether to go home early...all the little economic decisions that lead the death of a community.
The gangbangers are never sure who's mother, sister, wife or daughter they are messing with.

Recall the movie “Escape from New York?” Philadelphia is not far behind. I have very nice memories of strolling through the streets of Philly - I grew up there - and we occasionally got into trouble like all kids do; but what is happening now is just absolutely criminal. I’ll be honest here and say that is the 85% welfare black and latino’s that have destroyed the city. Won’t go there at night any more.

Well, Mayor Nutter’s understanding of Roman Catholic theology isn’t quite there, but the Immaculate Conception of Mary is a false doctrine anyway, so I won’t hold it against him.
He deserves credit for making those statements. It is exactly what the thug element in the black community needs to hear. Hopefully, it will empower and inspire other law abiding black people (who are the majority)to stand up against this barbaric behavior and help clean up these neighborhoods.
I am very interested to see what the reaction from the public, other politicians, “community activitsts” and the media will be. Will Obama say Nutter “acted stupidly”? Nutter supported Clinton over Hussein, so it will intersting to see it he reacts.
Al Sharpton will hit him with his bullhorn.
