US: Strike kills militants who downed US chopper (JUSTICE and REVENGE!)

An air strike by NATO-led forces in Afghanistan killed Taliban fighters, including a local leader, who were responsible for a weekend helicopter crash that killed 38 troops, the worst single incident in 10 years of war.

"We dealt with them in a kinetic strike," General John Allen, the commander of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan, told reporters at the Pentagon.

Gen. Allen said the military tracked the Taliban fighters for several days after the helicopter went down. Forces reportedly trailed the fighters to a position in Chak District, Wardak Province, and then US F-16s struck and killed them Tuesday.

"The strike killed Taliban leader Mullah Mohibullah and the insurgent who fired the shot associated with the Aug. 6 downing of the CH-47 helicopter, which resulted in the deaths of 38 Afghan and coalition service members," the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force said in a statement.

I’m wondering the same thing.

I'm well aware of that. Saved thousands of American soldiers, Japanese soldiers, and Japanese citizens.

Horrible, but necessary....but apples to oranges.

This is not WWII, and the Afghan people are not imperial Japan.

I’m sorry — can’t follow your train of thought. I do know a verse from Matthew’s gospel: “I came not to bring peace, but a sword.”

So, according to your train of thought, Jesus' words in Matthew mean we should wipe out the Afghan people?

I'm not following......

Is anything I said about God's love and sacrifice incorrect, in your view? I understand there are differences of opinion on this subject, but don't you think it's a bit presumptious to make a connection between the words that Jesus said about Himself and His purpose, and the desire to kill all Muslims?

“How in the world could they know that they killed the muslims directly responsible for shooting down the helicopter? How could they know WHO was personally responsible?”

Kill all of them, it is the only way to be sure.

I just looked up the context of your quote from Matthew - in Matthew 10, starting in verse 29, Jesus is talking about how very much He loves each of us, even to the numbering of the hairs on our heads, and how much we are worth to Him. Then it is followed by our need to acknowledge Him before others, and being disowned if we don't, followed by the verse you cite.

Jesus is the Prince of Peace, but conflict arises, even within families because of belief in Him.

I don't think it has anything to do with blowing up the entire country of Afghanistan, do you?

"kinetic"

Obama first used the phrase "kinetic military action" in the early days of the Libya adventure. It is no coincidence that the abbreviation "KMA" also means something else, which is basically what he was telling those who questioned the Libya adventure to do.

IMHO, you have picked the wrong thread for your mission

IMO, you have completely misinterpreted my 'mission'......actually missing the fact that I have no 'mission' on this thread.

Let's be honest here, OK? Do you advocate blowing up all of Afghanistan in Jesus' Name as you have implied?

What have you really been trying to say? No more cryptic comments, please.

Just state what you're thinking outright, so we can have an honest discussion. If you don't want that, so be it.

IMO, winning hearts and minds is BS—esp with 7th century barbarians. We should wage war to WIN TOTAL VICTORY—whatever it takes. These people will cut your throat before you can get out a verse of Matthew. Our bravest, our best, our sacred trust and honor is being TRASHED by the political generals. We should not spend one more ounce of blood for criminals—foreign OR DOMESTIC. To be honest, I really don’t care what you think — evangelize with someone else. Should I be clearer? The end.

Well, thanks for finally saying something. Why did it take so long? Why the games?

Is it because you're a newbie?

If so, you'll find a lot of support for your POV on this forum (and even for part of it from me).

Next time, start with your honest opinions (though you didn't actually answer my questions directly, even in this post), and leave out the game-playing and you'll save everyone a lot of valuable time.

btw, welcome to FR.

Just skimmed the Wiki article about it, but of course, they can't be trusted for accuracy......especially when dealing with Christian/Muslim conflicts.

Do you have a link to a more accurate source for it?

(Do you know how to post a link? If not, I can help you do it. :)

Sorry - it was just the top of my head. Another useful Bing search might be “Charles Martel” — who saved a Muslim overrun of Europe in the 15th century (I believe).
I will keep you in mind when I wish to link something. Thx for the offer (pictures too )I’ll mail you.

For an article all you have to do is (without spaces) type....

< a href = " the address of the article "> The name of the article < /a >

and it should show up as a live link in your post.

Try it out.

How in the world could they know that they killed the muslims directly responsible for shooting down the helicopter? How could they know WHO was personally responsible?

Just a guess, but the fact that it was a trap for the seal team, and that we sent them into the trap not in their usual helos that have infrared adsorbing paint but in a regular transport helo that does not. The old tech stinger does not work so well on the Seal teams regular choppers...

My guess is that "command" was tracking them before they took out the non seal chopper filled with the guys that took out Bin Laudin. I suspect a political payoff to Saudi, to appease the Muslims with our oil supply. And I suspect "Command" knew the guy who fired the stinger by name before he fired it. So we trade off Team 6 to appease the Muslims, and we blow up the Hitmen to appease the Americans.

I also suspect this "Command" comes from the very top. Game over, but the stink will be hard to wash off...

The Tillman thing really disturbed me. Did they KNOWINGLY award him a Silver Star for something that didn't happen? If so, that's spitting on every Silver Star winner and worse than what Admiral Boorda did. (I'm asking - was that an innocent mistake?)
