US: Strike kills militants who downed US chopper (JUSTICE and REVENGE!)

An air strike by NATO-led forces in Afghanistan killed Taliban fighters, including a local leader, who were responsible for a weekend helicopter crash that killed 38 troops, the worst single incident in 10 years of war.

"We dealt with them in a kinetic strike," General John Allen, the commander of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan, told reporters at the Pentagon.

Gen. Allen said the military tracked the Taliban fighters for several days after the helicopter went down. Forces reportedly trailed the fighters to a position in Chak District, Wardak Province, and then US F-16s struck and killed them Tuesday.

"The strike killed Taliban leader Mullah Mohibullah and the insurgent who fired the shot associated with the Aug. 6 downing of the CH-47 helicopter, which resulted in the deaths of 38 Afghan and coalition service members," the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force said in a statement.

I’m with you. I am curious about the question the MSM refuses to ask..... did the ROE prevent massive airstrikes to relieve the unit in trouble they were enroute to help?

That is the question that needs to be asked. Have our ROE neutered our use of air power?

WTF is a “kinetic strike”- is that a kinder and gentler way of saying ATTACK?

This is just another new word from the Obama Military Dictionary....kinetic strike, kinetic military action.

This administration LOVES treating the citizens of this country like the little spoiled children they think we all are.

This wasn't a bank robbery. The shootdown was in a remote valley which presumably had many hostiles present. How did we pinpoint those directly responsible in the immediate aftermath of the crash? Those guys were probably moving before the missile hit. How did we track them for TWO days?

We may have struck an area where we thought those responsible were, but there's just NO way we could know well enough to justify these statements coming out of the Pentagon.

I guess kinetic is now a stylish media word for military attacks

Lots of 'styling' going on: progressive instead of liberal, revenue instead of taxes .....

There are people worth saving in that 'dirt pile'.....people whom God created and loves, who need to know of His love.

You can be assured if they are appointed for that He will arrange it. But Haven't you ever wondered why for centuries God has kept these people isolated and fighting among themselves? Read your bible about those whom God sent to destroy such a people for their heathenistic destructivfe and vile beliefs. Be sure to know which side people are on...the line does get drawn.

“Kinetic attack”

Yes, I understand what they mean by it.

But it is just another example of people using “big words” to make it sound more high tech, and modern. I know these guys are smart, but I really am beginning to dislike this “consultant jargon.”

What would be the problem of saying, “We bombed the $hit out of them. Blew them to pieces.”

Kinetic means “moving” or constantly moving. I think when a military man uses that word it means “we bombed the _____ out of them.”

Lots of 'styling' going on...

"Investment" instead of "wasteful government spending", one of my favorites.

“Every time I see one of Obama’s generals talk I want to break the TV. I see all the new weapons on the military channel that we refuse to use because we have to fight a “PC” war.”

We feel the same in our house...
and, unfortunately, we know some of those brass-types personally...

I’m looking for the SEALS to take the White Hut back and eliminate the enemy within there.

Big deal. I wouldn’t trade one SEAL for that whole dirt pile of a country.

My sentiments exactly.

I’m aware of where the copter went down and the hostile environment there. But I do not underestimate our special forces one bit. With or without Obamas approval our guys were going to get these thugs...and I do believe they did.

How it’s reported for whatever political gain Obama might desire to gain is neither here nor there to me. The fact the had a target and went after it is sufficient for me...and kudos to them for taking them out.

BTW My one son served in high security missions. They know fully well how to track people in ways you cannot imagine possible. Enough said.

The article does say we tracked the bastids - maybe a MOAB pretty much ensured the RPG triggerman went down. I certainly have more faith in our military than this administration. Hoping this is true. ;-)

You can joke all you want but try hard not to underestimate our special forces capabilities.

I guess we didn’t learn a thing from Marcus Luttrell and seal Team 10. History shows we learn nothing from history.
