I guess that’s one for the guys. LOL!
Romney parroted his answers from the last debate.....he had nothing of any substance to offer tonight. To say he played it safe is an understatement. Even Huntsman took some chances.
Of course there has been a business cycle. Railroad magnates of the 1800’s would attest that they started it.
Santorum was correct on debt ceiling. It can’t be done overnight. We will have to continue to raise it until we can change the spending trajectory. When you borrow 42 cents of every dollar, you must get to a balanced budget in a phased manner. That won’t happen until we get entitlement reform.
Don’t forget: sweetened or unsweetened?
The biggest problem these candidates had to overcome tonight was overcoming the questions of these Fox moderators.
A lot of the questions FOX asked were BS, lame stream media kind of gotcha questions. I am TICKED and FOX will hear from me.
Yes it is, and I think FOX missed a great opportunity to have Jerry Springer ask the questions instead of the dimwits they actually used.
Yep and she shall once she announces!
(Lost the feed when Cain was asked the same question.)
Huntsman supported the Boehner deal against default.
Candidates wrapping up.
I think they’re like Howard Stern’s “Baba Booey” brigade.
Good closing comments by Cain.
Or even longer. The election is 14 months off, she could wait until it was 6 months off, and have time to make her point. Why submit to the "establishment timecycle"?
Right.. The fact is the business cycle always has its ups and downs..
Zero would be burnt toast (no racism intended :) ) but Newt will be better served by helping the others with their debating skills. :)
He IS a pro at it!....and knows history backward and forward.
Felt bad for Santorum tho, they didn’t give him fair time.
Cain is the only one who improved his standing in my eyes tonight (except Newt, but I won’t consider him as the nominee).
I’m not sure who “won” tonight but I do know this: Freepers your enemy was nowhere on that podium tonight. He’s in Washington and his name is Barack Obama.
Look at it this way: if Fox hosts a Democrat debate, think of the entertainment with these kinds of questions!
Huntsman is the worst of everyone in the race.
He is a man of few words, but well chosen and straight forward. As most successful administrators who inspire confidence.
I agree. Sarah Palin is very smart and knows what she’s doing. Because of that, I doubt she’s going to be running.
Remember the pounding Al Gore got for trying to limit the number of debates out of fears that he may make more gaffes?
Yep, that was the reality of the situation..
These idiots who keep saying Obama doesn’t know what to do to help our economy...he not trying to help our economy, he’s trying to destroy it and the nation it belongs to.
God speed to all the candidates, including Ron Paul.
Obama had the "youth" vote in 2008. McCain wasn't going to get the youth vote anyway -- which doesn't mean a Republican can't get it.
But Obama doesn't have it now. Millions who voted in 2008 probably won't show up in 2012.
And the proportion of conservative youths who will show up next November will be much higher. I wouldn't write off the "youth vote", just yet.
Perry's fine. I could vote for Perry. I could vote for Palin. I will vote for whoever wins the nomination.
I like Santorum. He is a good, honest man. He would be a good President.
Cain’s a nice guy, but he has absolutely no chance of getting the nomination.
Romney just said
Barry dies understand the economy because he has never lived in this economy
Romney himself has never lived in the economy
He had a rich daddy...
hes got more than 250 MIILLION
I really, really like the man.
Stay tuned for the after debate comments.
Huntsman has a strong fiscal conservative record in Utah but he needs to spell it out in more detail. Voters aren’t going to take the time to read. Good thing is not another one until September 7 and then every two weeks thereafter. lol
Tonight was a schizophrenic circus.
8 candidates is (at least) 3 too many. Impossible to discern 1 minute fastballs.
Fox & Washington Examiner people were pathetically awful.
P.S. Ron Paul wins the Straw Poll Saturday.
You’re right! Huntsman ought to be challenging obama!
Unfortunately the FED came in and stole that wealth of opportunity through the powers of Congress granted by the States. Here we are.
If Palin doesn’t win, say hello to Romney.
Amen to that!
I only hope they see those skills he has.
He has many videos on his YouTube channel. They should be studying his debating skills.
Newt’s answer - probably the best final statement.
1 Cain 2 Santorum 3 Bachman 4 Gingrich 5 Paul 6 Huntsman 7 Romney 8 Pawlenty
I must admit Newt speaks as if he is comfortable and confident—he didn’t rattle or seem like he was on the hot seat
Rick and Cain summed it all up........Paul going religious? bad wars.......blah, blah.....Gold...peace......Romney - economic crisis...goes for Obambi’s throat......had to have had a job to create a job? woah! Economy, economy... Bachman send a message to DC on what we think of Obama.....send a message to Washington that they can’t miss. Pawlenty....freedom is a blessing....leadership...I am the leader for America...God Bless America. Huntsman.....LOVE this country, we are hurting, scared and bankrupt...debt...barrack won on hope, I will win on solutions. Newt...crisis NOW, call now and repeal, repeal, repeal.......save American families.
Bret........there is no salvaging this mess. You messed up worse than any candidate........pathetic showing for FOX.
Huntsmans mannerisms remind me of one of Dan Akroyds characters from SNL. Is this guy for real? LOL!
Next Fox-promoted debate: SEPTEMBER 22nd in Orlando
He's sharp, he knows how to lead, he's honest, he elevates the debate, and I hope he makes a good running in the Republican primary.
