DECORAH, Iowa — Hitting back against an emboldened GOP, President Barack Obama launched a rare direct attack Monday on the Republican presidential field, criticizing his potential 2012 rivals for their blanket opposition to any deficit-cutting compromise involving new taxes.“That’s just not common sense,” Obama told the crowd at a town hall-style meeting in Cannon Falls, Minn., as he kicked off a three-day bus tour through Minnesota, Iowa and Illinois.“You’ve got to be willing to compromise to move the country forward,” the president said later in the day as he delivered the same message at a town hall in Decorah, Iowa.

Even assuming this statement is true (and it is debatable), Obama hasn't ever made public what he wants as part of any compromise. At least the GOP has said "no tax increases". So, what's Obama's stance? If he wants tax increases, let him describe them.
So lets see I’ll parapharse.... I have failed to deliver on my promises and I offer more of the same, taxing and spending and higher deficits in order to pay for unfunded liabilities like Obamacare, Social Security and Medicare. If you disagree with my approach and all you do is offer plans like Paul Ryans budget plan or God forbid something as radical as Cut Cap and Balance where politicians would no longer be able to use the public trust to bribe the electorate or pay back supporters, then I will continue to tell the American people that it is you who are radicals and unreasonable and let me be clear once I submit my tax and spend plan, if you don’t support it you will be labeled obstructionists and if some responsible people wish to refer to you as anti-American or terrorist I won’t deny it....

He really needs to provide the dictionary he’s using. How are we supposed to know what he’s saying when he (or his administration) uses words like
transparency
hope
change
terrorist
reasonable
They are obviously using some alternate definitions of those words. Especially when he starts the comment with “let me be clear” he should use the standard definition. But that’s how he indicates that the following sentence will be using alternate definitions.

Obama has been throwing this word around alot lately. There are several definitions of "compromise". Seeings how he is a lot smarter than the rest of us I believe he is expecting us to think he is talking about the convential meaning when he is using it as:
an endangering, especially of reputation; exposure to danger, suspicion, etc.: a compromise of one's integrity.
Obama’s speeches could be used to teach a middle school class in recognizing logical fallacies and propganda techniques. They’re all just chock full of textbook examples.
