Why Obama May Pass on Reelection
Business Insider ^ | August 17, 2011 | Russell Halley

Political observers of a certain age will remember the night of March 31 1968. At the very end of a long speech about the Vietnam War, President Johnson shocked the nation with his announcement that “I shall not seek, and I will not accept, the nomination of my party for another term as your President.”

Don’t be surprised if Obama makes a similar announcement.

To understand why, its worth looking at how we got the President we have.

People are saying there's no way he'd not run...he's a narcissist.

But that's exactly why he may very well consider not running...if his poll numbers are that bad and everyone hates him, his narcissism may not allow him to face a terrible defeat.

Too early to tell, but I think him stepping down is at least a possibility.

He just took possession of two taxpayer funded campaign buses and took them out on the campaign trail.

“The argument is that he was promoted over Hillary because he would be malleable and would “lead from behind”. In other words, he’d follow.”

I think it was science fiction writer Larry Niven who created the Puppeteers. The Puppeteers were a race of herbivores. The leader was the Hind Most, who lead from behind. The least valuable members of Puppeteer society went at the head of the heard where the predators were while the leaders stayed safe at the rear. I think that’s appropriate for the Hind Most in the White House. Arugula rocks!

Also, I don’t remember any magazines where any Republican president was shown air-brushed in as some other president. I suspect they’re doing that because without the seasoning of another image, Obama is politically unpalatable. I suspect Lincoln would be upset to have his image air-brushed with a scalawag carpetbagger. FDR would definitely veto the comparison if he could.

And, my last thought, Obama can’t even be ordered by his handlers to give the “will not accept speech.” He is living in a fantasy world and will continue to embarrass us as Jimmy Carter has in his declining years. Except, Obama will have many, many more opportunities as he’s much younger.

As a narcissist, I would think his ego would prevent him from running and suffering the ultimate humiliation of being defeated!

Unless his next gig will be as the operator of a Greyhound Bus, I don’t think he is planning on stepping down, NO WAY.

What we need to fear is where he issues an edict after the election declaring himself president for life.

No Way in Hades he will make that announcement!!!
Even though you never send a boy to do a man’s job, the guy is too much of a narcissist to ever do anything such as suggested. You can take that to the bank!!

I don’t know, in 1968 there were protestors on the streets shouting Hey Hey Ho Ho LBJ has got to GO! Eugene McCarthy and Bobby Kennedy were already challenging him.

There’s a famous photo of LBJ taken in the White House that showed him with his head in his hands, looking defeated and exhausted.

It was really no wonder he didn’t run for re-election.

I don’t see Obama as being in anywhere near this situation.

The Zero is totally and completely unable to put is personal interests aside for the good of his party or country.

The whole premise is bogus.

BIG difference between Johnson and baraq.

Johnson had emotional ties to this country and it’s citizens. He also paid attention to pols and the media at the time was against the Vietnam war. He was micromanaging the war. So he did not have a media openly campaigning for him.

baraq is a foreigner and is on a mission to destroy us.

baraq will not pass on running for a second term. He would have to give up all the perks of living like a king. Plus moochele let him.

I’ve been saying this for weeks now, but my reasononing is that as it becomes more and more obvious that comrade zero will lose worse than fritz mondale, all of the corrupt unemployable scumbag dhim politicians who normally ride the coattails will want to get as far away as possible.

I think Hillary will run and get the nomination.

I learned from FR that the Baraqqi regime (aka Chicago Mob) has some type of tactical nuke they can use on the Clintons if needed. That's why Hillary was never willing to use Baraq's extremely dubious past history against him in the 08 primaries.

Between the FBI files and their vaunted private detective operation, you know the Clinton's had all the info on Baraq, but for some reason were unwilling to use it.

Obama is a narcissist, it would be impossible for him to NOT seek re-election.

**********************************

By the same token, if he knew he had no chance to win, his narcisism wouldn’t allow him to run because of the humiliation he would suffer by the loss.

“As a narcissist, I would think his ego would prevent him from running and suffering the ultimate humiliation of being defeated!”

If he’s sure to be defeated, I’d imagine he would drop out, to make it appear to be his choice.

But if it’s close, he won’t be able to imagine not taking “his rightful place” as king, er, president, of the US.

If Obama does actually get re-elected he will inherit one hell-of-a-mess from himself.

He would still blame Bush!

To all of you poo pooing this article, consider that he may bow out for just the reasons you say he won't. Once it becomes clear that he will LOSE, he will not run. He can bow out a winner in his own mind. He didn't lose, he retired. He accomplished all his goals in his first term so no need to run for a second. (LIES of course, but what's new about that). Better to bow out with dignity than to be THROWN OUT in a landslide, (what would that do to his self esteem?).

BUT........ The real reason is closer to post #3. Sept 14th the U.S. District Court, District of Hawaii (Hawaii)
CIVIL DOCKET FOR CASE #: 1:11-mc-00158-SOM -RLP, will REQUIRE the state of Hawaii to allow Orly Taitz and her forensic team to examine Barack Obama’s birth records.

Game, set, match! No more “standing” issue, no more “privacy” issue, no more “state laws” issues. The jig is up! (jig is an Irish reference).

They will be ordered to comply with the lawful subpoenas that they were served with, IMMEDIATELY.

And just like last time, neither side will drop the big one. It’s MAD, so it’s a standoff in the dirt game, I guess.
