Posted on 08/21/2011 6:46:36 PM PDT by LeoWindhorse
Washington, D.C. U.S. Senators John McCain (R-AZ) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) today released the following statement regarding the end of the Qadaffi regime in Libya:
The end of the Qadaffi regime in Libya is a victory for the Libyan people and for the broader cause of freedom in the Middle East and throughout the world. This achievement was made possible first and foremost by the struggle and sacrifice of countless Libyans, whose courage and perseverance we applaud. We also commend our British, French, and other allies, as well as our Arab partners, especially Qatar and the UAE, for their leadership in this conflict. Americans can be proud of the role our country has played in helping to defeat Qaddafi, but we regret that this success was so long in coming due to the failure of the United States to employ the full weight of our airpower.

Thank GOD the GOP is getting in front of this.
Chang Bunker and Eng Bunker
I didn't realize we had declared war on Libya.
We will see what happens.
LOL! Two years ago this month Linsey and Juan led a US Senate “On the Road to Tripoli” visit to shake hands with Qadaffi. The clueless “pretty in pink” US RINO Senate tool Susan Collins even CURTSIED to Qadaffi once he stopped ignoring her long enough to look her way. DUMB, Susan!
What a bunch of boobs. And I don’t mean Susan’s.
“freedom in the middle east”
I’ll wait for the statements from people who are more relevant than McCain and Graham. Like Lady Gaga and that Snooki woman.
Once all the militant Muslim countries unite they will move against Israel.
All hell will break loose.
But never fear, we will have McCain and sissy girl Linshe to guide us through the turmoil. /sarc
This is like watching Hitler vs Stalin, if only both could lose.
Has anybody yet determined what the politics of the rebels might be? Do we have any idea who they are? Or what they intend to do?
I thought not.
McCain should have been the Messiah's running mate instead of his opponent. In fact, sometimes he acted as if he was so: he's a decent family man
I hope they KaDaffy extra-dead!
Freedom for #Libya! Now the hard work of democracy begins and the US should help.
Qaddafi on his way out, Bashar al Assad is next.
Does this joker not realize that the US is broke?
Remember this statement mccain, when all of north africa is under muslim brotherhood control.
I wonder when these two are getting married.
We will see what happens.
Indeed we will. You took the words right
outta my mouth. Egypt might give us a clue.
be careful what you wish for.\
the only good outcome would be that both sides lost.
Their secret thoughts, “thank God that it will soon be over and we won’t have to do our duty and impeach Obama for peeing all over the War Powers act.”
McCain and little Lindsey are proof we are too stupid to survive.
and from the White House website ?
crickets chirping .....
How was your hamburger sir ?
Let's ask Jimmy Carter - He is really gud at figuring out radical mussies.
Because “Democracy” is working out so well in the good old USSA
OH GREAT, someone went to their motel room and woke ‘em up.
Yea, lets listen to losers! They know what’s best for conservatism.
Execute both of them for treason!

FAIL.
Wanna stick two knives in me?
I’m a Vietnam vet (sorry as h**l to sound like John F’ing Kerry).
I’m a South Carolinian who voted against Little Lord Flimsey Tinkerbelle.
And these two Rinob@stards represent the Republican view on U.S. foreign policy!!? I’m sick to my stomach and I hope that the exiled mass murderer Gaddafi shows up here on a U.N. visa and calls them out!!!!!
And after he’s through with them, then and only then do we arrest him. And if he spills the beans on every last nuclear ambitioned dictator in the sorry Middle East, then we allow Gaddafi all his hottie bodyguardettes and feed him all the Wagyu beef he wants to the end of his days.
Up to here with these, these...words fail me.....

See ya at the movies.....
Thank you for your service
What garbage. One set of bad guys replaced by another, and probably more anti-american, set of bad guys with links to Al Qaeda. And American taxpayers paid for it. There was no possible upside when we started this non-war-powers-act non-military action. What are these guys thinking?
Shouldn’t that title be more true it it were “John McCain and Butt Boy”
>>> Has anybody yet determined what the politics of the rebels might be? Do we have any idea who they are? Or what they intend to do?
Considering the Libyan rebels are run by our own people I would suppose they know.
This heist was a long time in the making.
Libyan rebel leader spent much of past 20 years in suburban Virginia
He lived in Vienna, Virginia which is five miles from Langley. Vienna is a suburb that is the home to a very high concentration of US govt employees and contractors. A company town really. A close relation of mine who was a senior military officer had his home there.
A 2001 book, Manipulations africaines, published by Le Monde diplomatique, traces the CIA connection to 1987, reporting that Hifter, then a colonel in Gaddafis army, was captured fighting in Chad in a Libyan-backed rebellion against the US-backed government of Hissène Habré. He defected to the Libyan National Salvation Front (LNSF), the principal anti-Gaddafi group, which had the backing of the American CIA.
He organized his own militia, which operated in Chad until Habré was overthrown by a French-supported rival, Idriss Déby, in 1990.According to this book, the Haftar force, created and financed by the CIA in Chad, vanished into thin air with the help of the CIA shortly after the government was overthrown by Idriss Déby.
The book also cites a Congressional Research Service report of December 19, 1996 that the US government was providing financial and military aid to the LNSF and that a number of LNSF members were relocated to the United States.
Who’s next? Namibia?
