Add Karl Rove to the list of people Sarah Palin's camp is denouncing.
POLITICO's Juana Summers flags this statement from the Sarah PAC website, which - without naming him - takes an unmistakable swipe at the former White House adviser to George W. Bush:
Three years ago DC pundits predicted with glee the demise of Sarah Palin's political career. This past weekend their tune changed, citing false information that she has made a decision and set a date regarding a future campaign.
Any professional pundit claiming to have "inside information" regarding Governor Palin's personal decision is not only wrong but their comments are specifically intended to mislead the American public. These are the same tired establishment political games that fuel the 24 hour news cycle and that all American's will hopefully reject in 2012, and this is more of the "politics-as-usual" that Sarah Palin has fought against throughout her career.
PS - Kudos to CNN for setting the record straight, and including Governor Palin's own words.
Rove had said on Fox News last weekend that he believed Palin was running, based in part on her schedule in Iowa (as best as I can tell she only has the one, large-scale event in Des Moines scheduled, for Sept. 3).
Peter Hamby of CNN noted earlier that there is not exactly a river of trust between Palin and Rove, but the public pushback was a bit of a surprise.

No, because she never promised us anything. WE are the ones driving speculation and playing guessing games on her potential announcement. She has done exactly what she said she would, no more, no less.
No, only the ones whose first instinct is to personally insult anyone who doesn't believe Palin is running. Just like I said. There's about a dozen of them are you just joined the ranks. Congrats.

I agree, She won’t run.
But she is taking a shot at the “Old Guard” King makers.
She is an ambitious and capable person, but I don’t believe she will run this year.

She is on her timetable. The election happens over a year from now. What’s the rush? You don’t think that a few days/weeks this early in the game are going to make an iota of difference do you? When the political attention span of the average voter, not FR political junkies like us, is measured in days?

It really is amazing to watch you sit here and lecture those of us who support Palin as “idiots” and “water carriers,” and then go on to accuse us of insulting those who don’t support Palin.
Your first comment was condescending and insulting. Maybe you should take your own advice. And yes, I do think Palin drives people like you, Karl Rove and the Democrats crazy.
