Huge Illinois Business Leaves for Indiana
by Scott McCOY for State Representative of the 106th House District in Illinois Mon Aug 22, 2011 at 10:10 pm CST
Tomorrow (Tuesday), Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels is expected to announce that Indiana will welcome a new business that will bring 240 new jobs to Indiana all thanks to Illinois Governor Quinn, the Illinois Democrats, and the major hike in Illinois taxes the Democrats put on Illinois businesses.
Modern Drop Forge, of Blue Island, Illinois, is expected to move its operation to Merrillville, Indiana. They are also expected to make a $7 million investment to improve the new property, according to NWI Times news of Indiana.
The Democrats just dont get it, said Scott McCoy, a businessman and candidate for Illinois State Representative of the newly formed 106th House District in Central Illinois. The Democrats caused this with their huge tax hike on Illinois businesses. Now, Illinois businesses are looking for more business friendly states and I cant blame them. Illinois is doing this to ourselves. I hope the people in our state figure it out before we look around and see no businesses or jobs left in Illinois.
McCoy says Illinois business climate of regulations, high taxes, and an over-controlling state government has put Illinois in a very bad place.
Governor Quinn and the Democrats are going to continue down this path for the next year and a half until we can elect conservative leaders into the Illinois House and Senate, McCoy explained. Then its two more years until we have a chance to elect a conservative governor. Its going to be a very hard and painful several years here in Illinois.
Scott McCoy says Illinois needs strong, conservative leaders who will stand up to the Democrats and win the people over to a more conservative direction. He said the Republicans and the TEA Party need to press hard from now until election day to change the course.
How many more businesses and jobs will we lose from now until then, McCoy asked. Once they leave, dont expect them to come back.

We just moved from Chicago to sarasota....what a DIFF in taxes!!!
Well, democrats, here’s the fruit of your misdeeds. Make things tough for business... and business will make things tough for you.. by leaving.
It would be hard to think of a worse place than Blue Island.
I would truly appreciate an HONEST reply from someone. Is ANYONE surprised or SHOCKED, SHOCKED at this?
Does ANYONE think that this is the last company to “abandon a sinking ship?”
Does ANYONE think the Demonrat Governor and/or legislature will act in a “sane” or realistic way to this.
Also, does ANYONE in Illinois even THINK?
Forging company expected to bring 240 jobs to Merrillville location

MERRILLVILLE | Gov. Mitch Daniels is expected to join executives from the Blue Island, Ill.-based company Modern Drop Forge on Tuesday to announce the company will be moving a major operation to Merrillville, resulting in about 240 new jobs.
On Monday afternoon, Merrillville Town Councilman Richard Hardaway confirmed that Modern Drop Forge will be coming to Merrillville, following the Town Council’s passage of a 10-year tax abatement for the company in May.
Hopefully this will result in a significant economic boost for Merrillville,” Hardaway said. “We’ve been looking for some time for some type of home run. But up until now we’ve only had nibbles.”
He credited a team effort by elected and other town officials for attracting the company to Merrillville.
....The Republican governor has said he expects more Illinois companies will come to Indiana without IEDC assistance because they are attracted by the state’s minimal government regulation on business and lower taxes.
Excellent. We do need to punish these blue states for punishing free enterprise. Maybe the people will wake up and blame the Dems.
Sure! But we're outgunned and outvoted by the crooks in Chicago and other socialist havens...
Has Obama and Holder’s people approved the move?
Back in the day Blue Island had a thriving manufacturing base, was solidly blue-collar and middle class. Now it’s like driving through a war zone.
And it was done quite on purpose.
Can you elaborate, please? I’m not familiar with Blue Island.
I do, and I have a beautiful house with 2 acres on a tremendous bass lake and I’m seriously considering moving.

WLS Radios Bill Cameron Reports
CHICAGO (WLS) - Some Chicago companies are avoiding some city and county sales taxes by locating their legal point of sales in Kankakee where the sales tax is lower.
This nets Kankakee some badly needed money, but Mayor Rahm Emanuel says thats not right.
People are practicing a way of cheating the system. And there are people in the business of helping people cheat the system, Emanuel said.
So the mayor says the city will sue and there are also efforts in Springfield to make this illegal.
Omg do I hate this state. My current personal situation precludes me from being able to move but if not for that I would be gone in a heartbeat.

How’s Hussein support working out for you, Illinios?
Its not even:
“take from the rich and give to the poor”
“take from the ‘barely scraping by’ and give to the ones who don’t care to work and just want to live off the rest of us”
It’s OK, there not green jobs. It’s just one of those real jobs that make money, and don’t require a govmint hand-out.
The recent unbelievable hike in state income tax, some of the highest gasoline prices in the country, inflationary food costs, not to mention all the expressways are now becoming almost impossible to use because of the exorbitant tolls (another hike coming)....all combine to make it increasingly impossible to live in the state and still pay the bills.
The Dem state government is corrupt. The Dem city government of Chicago is corrupt....and the sheer weight of Chicago's Democrat/liberal/welfare/minority voting power is the tail that wags the dog for the entire state....so no relief is in sight, ever.
The last person who leaves Illinois won't even be able to turn off the lights because electrity will have become so expensive that only candles will be available.
NLRB lawsuit to follow.
And to top it off, Merrilville is only about 10 miles from Illinois!
Illinois will just sue them to keep them there.
I hear you! We are about to become residents of Florida within the next few weeks. We fully expect anal probes for the next number of years from the Illinois regime...and we’re ready!
Blue Island, IL was a great working mans town which had a large Italian American community now replaced by Mexicans and welfare mommas.
When liberals from California start to reap what they have sewn and don't particularly like the society they have created, they leave bring the same pathologies to their new states. This is called “Californication”.
When voting at the ballot box fails, and those who were voted into office were given the mandate to loot and pillage the producers, the producers will vote with their feet and moving trucks.
Payrolls Climb in 31 States, Led by New York, Texas; Nevada Is at Bottom

“The biggest job losses last month occurred in Illinois, where employers cut payrolls by 24,900,...”
That's a great slogan for the Democrat politicians in Illinois.
"ILLINOIS, THE NEXT MICHIGAN".
Or, "ILLINOIS, THE OTHER MICHIGAN".
Who Is John Galt?
“I just hope that those people who flee Illinois to conservative Southern states first realize why their former homes became hell holes and then don’t bring the same attitudes and politics to their new states.”
I have vacationed in New Hampshire once in awhile and found that the state is being inundated by liberals fleeing Massachusetts and the high taxes. However those new residents bring with them all of the socialist demands on New Hampshire government that they demanded in Taxachusetts.

CONCORD Governor John Lynch today announced New Hampshire’s unemployment rate has dropped to its lowest point in 2½ years. The state’s unemployment rate for April was 4.9 percent, the first time the rate has been below 5 percent since December 2008.
I lived in California from 1981 until 1994, and knew that it was only a matter of time before it went into the toilet as well.
So, when do you expect the State of Illinois Legislature to make it illegal to leave the state? That is either as an individual or a business entity?

I live in that same area. My ex and I share custody of our kids so we would both have to move. We have actually discussed it because she is fed up with the politics in this state as well.
Ha....I said the same thing. “Chicago, the Detroit of the future”
It is good that you and your ex are discussing the important items. It can't be a good area to raise kids anymore. There was a lot of farmland there when I lived there. I know that Bell Labs was surrounded by corn fields, then. I understand it is surrounded by housing developments now.
Located in Cook county IL and Chicago's South Suburbs - Cook County, Blue Island has 5,649 homes.
80 out of 5,649 (0.014%) homes have been foreclosed upon in 2011. http://chicago.blockshopper.com/cities/blue_island/foreclosures/about
The most expensive foreclosure sold for $111,000 on October 5, 2006 and the least expensive foreclosure sold for $15,500 on March 4, 2011. The most recent foreclosure sold for $26,000 on March 4, 2011.
There are good schools in Geneva, Naperville, St Charles, etc....but the taxes are outrageous. 10k a year on a 3000 sq foot house. I have less and less tolerance for the brutal winters so i would love to move to Virginia, Texas or Florida. There are still a good amount of jobs but I don’t know how much longer they can survive the tax factory that is Illinois. I have no idea how Quinn got re-elected
And you are correct, despite any marital differences the kids should and always will come first. I can’t believe how many divorced couples use the kids as pawns.
Enquiring minds want to know:
Catalytic fines extremely hard and abrasive particles of aluminium silicate found in fuel as a result of its use as catalyst in crude oil refineries employing catalytic cracking process; can cause excessive wear in engine parts
As Michael Savage says, "liberalism is a mental illness". It is apparently true. These people are mentally ill and just can't change. If they weren't, then they would understand why Mass. is such a sh***y place and not try to replicate it where ever they move to.
By the way, I moved from the south shore of Boston to the Deep, Deep South in the mid 1970's. Only go back for weddings, funerals, and to visit relatives. New Hampshire (or as my kids call it, "New Hampster" is a really nice place, at least for now.
Blue Island was a Polish/Italian neighborhood. The two Catholic churches there tell the story. One Parish was Polish (St. Isidore), one Italian (St. Donatus). I have terrific memories of walking uptown to go shopping with my buscia. It was a nice, safe, well kept up neighborhood. Now you get ticketed for parking on the street without a permit. My buscia still lives there.

CHICAGO (WLS) - President Barack Obama’s home state of Illinois lost more jobs during the month of July than any other state in the nation, according to the most recent Bureau of Labor Statistics report.
After losing 7,200 jobs during the month of June, Illinois lost more than 24,000 jobs in July.
LISTEN: Illinois Policy Institute’s John Tillman joins Don Wade and Roma
John Tillman, CEO of the Illinois Policy Institute, joined WLS Radio’s Don Wade and Roma Show Tuesday where he says Illinois’ neighbors are gaining the jobs Illinois is shedding.
“Indiana, next door, is picking up another couple hundred jobs. They’re plus 10,000. Kentucky’s plus 24,000. Missouri’s plus 39,000. So, this has all happened since the tax hike as we, and many others including you on your program regularly, predicted,” Tillman said.
I’m always glad to see Illinoise lose jobs, but when we consider 240 jobs huge were all in deep doo-doo ...
The only problem was that picture was in “color” but due to all the pollution it’s all covered in soot ...
That doesn’t look like a world I really want to live in ...
