IE, this may be the last “earthquake” in the region for decades (or maybe not...)

but there are usually (sometimes large) aftershocks
to be expected.

My wife called from Dayton Ohio. She is on a fifth floor and said the building swayed dramatically.

But then again they probably dont have the earthquake building codes like we do out here on the west cost. A 5.9 out here would cause very light damage.

I've heard that the ground is much more broken up in the west, so the vibrations aren't transmitted as well there as in the east.

Felt two, quick heavy jolts out here in the hinterlands of Westmoreland County. Husband felt it at his workplace in New Stanton; one son is home from HS and the light standards swayed, classroom tvs shook.

I’m off on Tuesdays and our dog is upset. He yelped in the moments BEFORE I felt the first ‘pop’ then the second (rocked under our feet). He is either not over it, or spooked that something else is up.
