That’s a bit too close for comfort. Very widespread tornadic activity with the large system. Stay alert.

Power on again but internet is running really slow for whatever reason. It is sucky outside. Not a word really, but it fits the bill.

Ignore the sucky posts. Life is short. We love you here.

Aloha Ladies,

Geraldo prays for (or is that preys on it) bad news.

Talked to my brother in Upstate NY this morning and got the local skinny that there was a low pressure storm system from the west, which has been raining on him for a couple days. He'd already prepared for it. NYC is another matter altogether. It seems to take the MSM weather news reporting power outages up the SE coast, Bloomberg shutting down the transit systems while advising evacuations and Geraldo standing in the rain for the message that the storm is coming.

You're in for stormy weather tonight and I wish you all the best. Stay safe. I fear the worst of this will come after it's over.

"Stay safe. Of course it’s not a true tornado shelter unless you have a hippie with a guitar. Saw one in 1970 at a Topeka tornado shelter."

Well, we have two Baby Boomers and a teenager with a guitar, and we could all pile into our fallout shelter from the Cuban Missile Crisis. Does that work?

You’re welcome. I think the images reveal that this is no walk in the park.

Any damage reports for Langhorne? Our alert for Ambler expired without undue excitement. Sometimes boredom is really good.

Thanks Gabz. I do have my tax bills to show I belong there (cable bill too lol). I do want to come down to assess whatever I can. Too old to start over there though.

Gabz was complaining of dog slow net service too. I hope you have a weather alert radio. Too many tornadoes tonight.

Thanks. They are a tag team, occasionally running in a pack. Jackals.

Interesting stuff...I think the people on these LIVE threads(sometimes emergencies), get upset when the thread gets tied up with other topics.

Would definitely deserve it’s own thread, IMHO!

take care!

a record number of people have been evacuated, and this isn't going to be a top-10 storm for overall damage.

Other factors possibly influencing the number of evacutations:

= the amount of shoreline affected (consider all the waterfront between Eastern NC and Massachusetts).

= the population density in the areas affected (it doesn't get more dense than the Washington-NYC corridor).

= an increasing tendency for politicians and emergency agencies to order evacuations, compared with years ago (this ultra-careful age we live in).
