(Ron) Paul holds US liable for Gazans death (Interview w/ Iran's Press TV)
Iran's Press TV ^

Republican congressman Ron Paul says the US is aiding and abetting Israel in Gaza through its financial and military support for Tel Aviv.

"The weapons being used to kill so many Palestinians are American weapons, and American funds, essentially, are being used for this," said the congressman Friday.

Israel launched an all-out war against the Gaza Strip and its democratically-elected ruler, the Hamas movement, to put an end to rocket attacks against southern Israel.

At least 821 Palestinians have been killed during the operation and some 3,330 others are reported wounded. At least 10 Israeli troops have been killed during the offensive so far.

Hamas demands a cessation to an 18-month Israeli blockade on Gaza before its fighters stop rocket attacks against Israel.

Congressman Paul criticized Washington for its indirect intervention in the affairs of other countries.

"There's a political liability, which I think is something that we fail to look at, because too often there's so much blowback from our intervention in areas that we shouldn't be involved in," he said.

Paul also expressed his opposition to a House resolution that strongly supported Israel in its Gaza invasion. "I rise in opposition to this resolution, not because I am taking sides and picking who the bad guys are and who the good guys are."

"I'm looking at this more from the angle of being a United States citizen, an American, and I think resolutions like this really do us great harm," he added.

Earlier on Friday, House of Representative speaker Nancy Pelosi backed the Israel's military operations on Gaza, saying that "Israel, like any nation, has a right to self-defense when under attack".

"There's a lot of reasons why we should oppose this resolution. It is not in the interests of the United States. It's not in the interests of Israel, either," Paul concluded.

The fighting in Gaza has entered its third week despite a UN Security Council resolution which calls for an immediate end to the hostility in the densely-populated Gaza Strip.

Ron Paul, a foreign policy moron of the highest order.....he is literally a foreign policy nightmare....

Thank God we have Hillary Clinton as Sec of State, if she didn’t take the job, Obama likely would have picked this nut job for the position.....and he would have taken it.

Interesting that Pelosi defends Israel’s right to defend itself over Ron Paul’s isolation approach.

I have to go with Pelosi on this one.

I must have missed where Ron Paul took Iran to task for helping to kill many of our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Nancy Pelosi’s actually the person making the most sense in this article! That’s a first.

Hillary is just as nutty as the rest of the Obama administration. She simply had much more practice looking like a professional adult than Obama’s marxist sock puppets.

While I can agree that Hillary would have been much better than Obama she has a laundry list of strange leftist views.

Don’t forget, she pushed Obama for Libya, led Obama against the Supreme Court and Constitution of another country to support a Hugo Chavez wannabe, and she tried to create Obamacare early in her co-presidency with Mr. Morals.

Nothing sums up just how extreme this administration has been more than conservatives new love affair with cankles.

Why we all agree to let this Reagan hating Libertarian just use the Republican party as his platform for anti American BS is beyond me. If his ideas are such a winner, why doesn't he run under his true banner? Even his son is far more coherent than this dude. I would vote for Rand as Pres. Ron, not so much.

I agree with everything you said, she is an utter disaster..............but still 1500x better than Paul......I am hoping that his Son is going to show better promise.

Paul has been promoted to his level of incompetence though.

Absolutely. You said it even better. : )

If I posted this elsewhere his "followers" would somehow claim the interview was a lie...that's not what he actually said.

Don’t remember sleeping for so long, but when did Israel launch an all out war on Gaza and Hamas?

Good for them at any rate.

They haven’t. They just have been dealing with illegal aliens from the Lebanon and Syria civil war (ie Palestinians).

I was thinking about voting for Ron Paul, but he is a fool to be against Israel fighting back against it’s attackers.

A total fool.

Nancy is somewhat of a hypocrite. If my memory serves me correctly, she made an unauthorized (and contested) visit to Syria shortly after becoming SOH.

As far as I’m concerned, Paul has some sound fiscal ideas. But they are outweighed by his radical ideas.

He whines that he is getting no press. So he talks to the Iranian press? Really, dude? How many ways can you shoot yourself in the foot?

Yep, we're doing our best, thanks.

I think Hillary’s been terrible, but you’re right, it could have been so much worse.

This shows Ron Paul to be morally bankrupt.

I hope he keeps talking Middle East policy, so everyone can see he is a kook.
