This looks like this is it, said Ted Ryan, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Fort Worth. The end of summer is coming up.

FRegards,
Well said!
We got cowgirls that you might like too...lol!
While my friends in the Midwest and back east are up to their knees in frozen windblown brown snow, we're wearing shorts and BBQing Pacific Salmon... in December!
Only 6 regions on this planet with the same Mediterranean climate, and So. Cal is one of them.
Life is too short for brutal extreme heat, uninhabitable humidity and bone chilling cold...It's just not for me!
I've lived long enough to know, regardless of what anyone says, weather is a prime factor and affects *everything* you do...Why I'm here...lol
Yep..you know it’s too hot when you don’t even want to go outside for a dip in the pool...lol!
Can’t wait for the fall sunsets though! Some of the most beautiful sunsets on the planet!
Enjoy while we wait for rain and cooler temps!
My son and I headed out to a job today around 11:00AM and couldn’t believe the comfortable temps and overcast skies. There was even a stiff breeze blowing, and for once, it didn’t feel like a furnace.
Of course, it warmed up later in the day, but all in all, it was mild compared to what we’ve endured these last two months.
An old friend of mine just got in from L.A. today, and as I was enjoying the mellow morning temps, I thought, “it figures....”
Heh....your comment reminds me of things I used to hear from my out-of-state friends after they'd lived in Hollywood for a few years. The place drove most of them to want to head back home.
I'd just look at them and say, "Do you really think that all of California is like this place?" Some of them were convinced that Hollywood really did equal California and really missed out.
Too bad you couldn't take some time and get outside of Dallas while you were here. It's a big, big, big state, with a whole lot to see.
I'm a native Californian transplanted to Texas six years ago. I'll tell you what.....springtime in Texas is so heavenly, it's worth living through the rest of the seasons here, just to experience it.
I kid you not.
You can teach me lots of lessons
You can bring me lot of gold
But you just can’t live in Texas
If you don’t have lot of soul
from Crossroads..Doug Sahm
Texas is a thing that you either “get” or “don’t get”...it is an intangible thing.
Ouch! Wichita Falls, the hottest place in Texas I think. In an normal year we get good rains, in an abnormal year we get way too much or like now, none. I think we are something like 25 inches behind. It will take a huge tropical storm to catch us up.
Damn, friend. I could have written that post. We seem to be on the exact same experiential track.
About 50 years in Cali for me. I packed up the family and planted roots in Texas in late 2005. How ‘bout yourself?
Who would have the desire to cook Texas and cause grave drought situations? Hint...no help fed help with the fires...

Yeah, same here. 51 years of my life, born and raised in Southern Cal. San Gabriel Valley then Orange County. Moved to Dallas Metro Plex in 09, and yes, this was a brutal summer, our third. Hoping next year’s wont be as bad and that we get water otherwise.....all options must remain open. LOL :).....nice to meet you.
I read that story. According to the best information, they died of sheer stupidity, not car problems.
They were driving a late model Chrysler and got stuck on a dirt road that turned to loose sand, off the main highway. Seems they were being a tad too adventurous without really comprehending the dangers of the SoCal desert.
You'd think the name, "Death Valley" should have been their first clue that they shouldn't mess around.
My job involves working with all these new arrivals. Most of them are glad to be here but there are a few who want to moan about how it was done where they came from, etc. Of course, I can’t say anything but I can sure think, hey, I35 and I20 run both ways. I didn’t invite your ass here and won’t miss you if you go back to wonderful
California (which you won’t because you can’t find a freakin’ job there) so shut up and be grateful that you found one here. Honestly, people from California are the worst. Arrogant, pushy, rude, I wonder if they came by way of New York. All I ask is that they don’t bring their wacky fruitcake ideas with them. Assimilate!
And yes, we don’t care if you like us or not. Now go away.
gawd i love that. who’s idea was that again? Bernoulli? I know, I can look it up...
Very true. I've also heard it said that "Texas isn't so much a place, as a state of mind."

And like California, Texas also has it’s Jerks too. As you can see.
