White House: Only 'Fervent Partisan' Would Suggest Obama To Blame For Job Losses
CNS News ^ | 8/29/2011 | Eric Scheiner

Posted on 08/30/2011 7:08:53 AM PDT by IbJensen

(CNSNews.com) - When asked questions about the president’s upcoming speech on jobs and economic growth yesterday, White House Spokesperson Jay Carney claimed that only the most ‘fervent partisan’ would suggest the 8 million plus jobs lost in this recession were lost because of actions Barack Obama took.

The question was asked by CBS reporter Norah O'Donnell. The exchange appears in the official White House transcript of the press briefing:

Q -- Jay, the question is what is different in this new speech? What is going to be different?

MR. CARNEY: Well, you will see what the President proposes to enhance growth, enhance hiring, and you will judge then what's different about the new ideas that are contained within it as well as ideas that you've heard about. But I can't let the premise go uncommented on when you talk about the amount of job loss in the time since the President took -- was sworn into office. I don't think anybody except the most fervent partisan would suggest that the 8 million jobs lost because of this recession were lost because of actions that this President took. Those jobs were lost within the four months -- in the months prior to his swearing-in, his inauguration, and in the months thereafter.

Since this President’s economic policies had a chance to take effect there have been more than 2 million private sector jobs created. The economy has grown, albeit not at a pace that satisfies him or any of us here in the administration. And that’s just a matter of absolute record and fact -- indisputable.

The fact is that we inherited a terrible situation, a terrible economy, and an economy that threatened to become far worse than it did become -- because of the actions that this administration took with Congress in 2009 and perpetually since then in different measures that have been taken, as well as -- including December of last year.

Q: The President and you’ve made the case that the President inherited this economy. When does it become his economy?

MR. CARNEY: Look, he’s responsible every day for this economy. He absolutely understands that and makes it clear. And he’s responsible for working directly and with Congress to take every measure possible to improve the economic situation in this country to increase growth and job creation. But it has to be absolute --

Q: Is he responsible for the economy?

MR. CARNEY: -- he is not -- what has to be clear when you phrase a question like that in the way that you did, it has to be clear the situation that we have been -- the hole that we have been climbing out of as a country -- Democrats, independents, Republicans -- Americans have all been climbing out of because of the terrible, great recession that this country has endured.

So he is on the job and responsible every day. And that’s why he is -- to go back to your first question -- why he is coming forward in the coming days with new proposals to further job creation and economic growth.

The buck doesn't stop here ... it's all Bush's fault ... blah, blah, blah ...

Next he'll be blaming the Constitution because it ties their hands ... they can't do all the wonderful things they have in mind because the old document gets in the way ...

It occurred to me today that Keynesian economics is nothing more than the “broken windows fallacy” extrapolated to the entire economy.

So let me get this straight. Obama is totally responsible for and takes credit for every job created, but it’s Bush’s fault for every job lost. Yeah. That seems to sum it up pretty well.

Hey MSM! Are any of you even the slightest bit aware of any inconsistencies in what I just wrote?

Jay, the President also inherited a "Triple-A" debt rating.

Been replaced by the obama permanant campaign organization.

It is interesting to watch a media openly campaign for a gang of thugs who will destroy their 1st ammendment rights.

Only pigheaded, rabid, leftist swill drinkers would suggest Obama isn’t responsible for massive unemployment, the crappiest economy ever, and the dangerous decline of the United States. You have to hate America to say different.

Hey, they are right: Obama is not the cause of the job losses. The losses are due to his policies. Only a ‘Fervent Partisan’ would suggest otherwise.

Oh, he’s only the POTUS, ehhh?

Well he would be jumping up and down in front of the teleprompter to take credit - saying I did this, I did that, I saved the day....if the jobs numbers were going up.

We’d be better off with no president than this guy who always does the wrong thing.

TR: “Been replaced by the obama permanant campaign organization.”

I agree, but this is low hanging fruit. A moron should be able to point out the inconsistency between taking credit for every job created but no blame whatsoever for every job lost. I mean, the bias and inconsistencies are so blatant these days. At least the MSM used to try to appear impartial. They don’t even bother anymore.

Since 4 million of those jobs were lost AFTER Obama and the commicrats got control of both houses, and the other 4 million jobs were lost AFTER Obama and the commiecrats got control of the both houses and the White House...it’s pretty clear to most of us what caused the tremendous job loss.

Our job creators only took the few months to eyeball the commiecrat control, and they took a hike and have been doing so ever since, no matter how much Jay Carney and his boss Oblame-o try to spin it otherwise.

The commiecrats OWN this economy, lock, stock, and barrel, going all the way back to 1995 and Obama’s law firm assisting ACORN in a lawsuit intimidating the banks to make scam loans to people who had not the ability to pay. He’s in it up to his eyeballs.

Carney is Obozo’s younger half-brother. Obozo has many half brothers some of whom are in the USA right now. They have Social Security Numbers and passports that are up-to-date.

Obozo himself is half-assed.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parable_of_the_broken_window

My interpretation of this is that breaking a window is a net decrease to the system as a whole and is a net cost to the system.

Everything comes down to input and output of a system, that is why Keynesian Economics don’t work.

If they go back to basic system theory, they are making up false inputs into the system. Any balanced system when burdened with too much artificial input or output becomes unstable.

And that is if it was a physical system, just imagine once you through in human beings.

I remember in the 2008 primary campaign, when Bill and Hillary talked about how they had created 22 million jobs during the Clinton administration, whereas the Bush administration had created only 7 million jobs. Both Bill and Hillary talked about that.

I think the rule is, if good Democrats preside over a period of economic growth, then they say that this good Democrat president has created jobs.

But if a good Democrat presides over a period of decline, then the criteria change. At such times, then the good Democrats say that presidents don’t create jobs or lose jobs in the economy through their policies.

Or, we could say that if some criteria are to the benefit of a Democrat, then these criteria will be used. If the same criteria later on make a Democrat look bad, then we will change the criteria and ignore the previous criteria.

FDR&CO blamed Hoover for the Great Depression throughout the 1930’s and people kept right on believing it was the truth.

Obama knows how to use the Bully Pulpit so blaming Bush will never end.

Are you suggesting that the current ‘journalists’ in the mainstream media would even wonder about publishing whatever the administration handed them?

It’s not just the political establishment that needs to be retired, in my humble opinion. The fourth estate has gone far past their sell-by date as well.

My interpretation of this is that breaking a window is a net decrease to the system as a whole and is a net cost to the system.

The net cost of Keynesianism to the system is the taking/destroying capital from the more efficient private sector to distribute it through the much less efficient gov't sector. They try to mitigate (lie about) this net loss to the system by talking about the "multiplier factor". This "multiplier" is just a rehash of the justification for the broken windows fallacy.

Jay Carney claimed that only the most ‘fervent partisan’ would suggest the 8 million plus jobs lost in this recession were lost because of actions Barack Obama took.

Another example of the libtard argument from intimidation. This is an appeal to to moral self-doubt and it reliance on the fear, guilt or ignorance of the victim. It is used in the form of an ultimatum demanding that the victim renounce a given idea without discussion, under threat of being considered morally unworthy.
