Good morning, Everyone.
Good morning to our
military, our allies, and their families
Thank you, Lauren, for preparing the Canteen for todays activities.
~ Today... Rain. Rain May be heavy at Times.
Highs in the lower 70s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph.
Chance of rain near 100 percent.
~ Tonight... Showers. Locally heavy rainfall possible.
Lows in the upper 60s. East winds 5 to 10 mph.
Chance of rain 90 percent.
Looks like we're getting the rain that Texas needs.
And on top of that looks like another hurrycane headed our way.
Prayers for Texas.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day holiday.
Seems I did more road running than relaxing as I wanted.
Back in the office and lots to catch up on.
Will have to post and then move to lurking.
Time to make my rounds and then back to work.
But, you stay right where you are.
Don't touch that dial. And, remember Ill be watching!
The FR Canteen is
Come on in and sit for a while.
There's always plenty of coffee,
pancakes,
conversation,
silliness,
and plain old BS
REMEMBER THEM
DEFENDERS OF FREEDOM
FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allied military and the family members of the above Honoring those who have served before.

Good morning to everyone at the Canteen.
66º this morning, but a very low humidity.
The fires are still raging in several areas near us.
The one east of Austin has consumed almost 500 homes.

Good morning, dear ((HUGS))
Please tell me that the fires are not close to you or Luvy or Meg or ???
The crazy jet stream is keeping the rain away from you guys. I’ll try to step up the rain dance and the prayers.

I don't think any of us are directly affected yet. There is one - the Spicewood fire - across Lake Travis from me that is only about three miles by air. I don’ think it will jump almost a mile of water.
There is another one - Steiner Ranch fire - that is about 20 miles to the south of me and on my side of the lake. It may affect our area within a week if it is not controlled.

Well, we're enjoying some much cooler weather this morning. Bo and I went out for a full walk around the lake yesterday.
We could sure use some rain. I'm sure you've heard about all the fires across Oklahoma and Texas the last few days. Keeping those affected in our thoughts and prayers.
Indiahoma OK schools closed today due to the wildfire out at the Wichita Mountains Refuge by Lawton. That fire is now out but not before it got out of the Refuge and burned some private acres.

Yeah, been hearing about the fires. Was hoping the gulf storm would have given you all some relief. But it’s heading our way. Go figure!

Thanks, Beachy! I’m worried about our state. I’m praying that everyone stays safe and that no more lives are lost.
....and that we get a handle on these fires. Our firefighters are worn out, and our water resources are limited. :(

Our firefighters are worn out, and our water resources are limited. :(I bet. Nora Roberts wrote a book about wildfires and fighting them in Chasing Fire.
