Michele Bachmann
Bachmann is serving her 3rd full term in the U.S. House. Founder of the House Tea Party Caucus, she earned a Master of Laws degree, worked as a tax attorney, and was a foster mother for 23 teenagers. She is a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
Herman Cain
Cain is the former chief executive of Godfather's Pizza and former chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. He lost the Georgia Republican primary for a U.S. Senate seat in 2004. He was recently the host of Atlanta-based radio show.
Newt Gingrich
Gingrich served as Speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999. He represented Georgia's 6th congressional district as a Republican member from 1979 to 1999. He has a PhD in modern European history.
Jon Huntsman
Huntsman was Utah Governor, former ambassador to China under Barack Obama.
Ron Paul
Paul is serving his 11th full term in the U.S. House. He’s an ob-gyn and was Libertarian nominee for president in 1988. He unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination for president in 2008
Rick Perry
Perry is the three term governor of Texas, from 2000 to current. He is a retired Air Force captain for former farmer. He has a degree in animal science.
Mitt Romney
Romney was governor of Massachusetts (2003 to 2007) and former CEO of Bain Capital, a private equity investment firm. He unsuccessfully sought the Republican 2008 nomination for president. He has an MBA (Harvard) and JD (Harvard Law).
Rick Santorum
Santorum served two terms in the U.S. House and two terms in the U.S. Senate. He became the Senate's third-ranking Republican in 2001. He was defeated for reelection in 2006.

Even Perry doesn't defend this sh6t but there seems to be lots of statists on FR these days doing just that.
ALL of those direct Public Health risks, all easily communicable and seriously deadly to subsets of the population. Warts are not deadly.
I don’t think Newt was trying to butter Palin up. He does not need to, in any way. If he wanted to be dismissive of her, he would have been—you know like Rove would have done.
No, instead hew as very deliberate in his choice of words and you could see the admiration for her speech in what he said. Intellectually, he was acknowledging someone for their intellectual prowess.
Newt can slice and dice with his tongue when he wants to,but he did not do that. Like I said, it made me go “Hmmmmmm....”
Bachman and Santorum appeared desperate tonight...perhaps their money is drying up. Huntsman and Paul appeared incoherent.
So charge him out of state tuition and he still goes to school because the State can’t deport him, and of course he is a resident of Texas.
I agree with you. I guess this is how she gets attention without facing the music on the stage.
She was pretty fired up, but I don't see her disagreement on that issue as preventing her from eventually issuing an endorsement. I strongly disagreed with him on that too, but it isn't a disqualifier for me.
Besides, if she doesn't endorse Perry, who will she endorse? It can't be herself because she ain't running. Romney is the only other legit candidate, but he is almost as left as Obama on some issues.
I guess she could stay out of it completely, but then she dilutes her own power and influence within the party. That has definitely not been her M.O. in the past.
Unless there is a surprise candidate that enters in the last minute, where else is she going to go?
What did Newt say?
Perry is going to wear two big mistakes around his neck, I concede. But, just as he stands on rock against the incoming, on his quotations from his book and elsewhere, and doubles down on what he said, and claims it, he also is a straight arrow on his regrets for where he has erred. I like that. No one serves as Texas governor for ten years! without a single chink in the armor. The Gardasis was “well intended” and the OPT OUT simply made the vaccine cheaper by $350. It now is made to sound like he was a NAZI, when the catalyst was far from evil. It was a big mistake though.

Greta did not ask Sarah about that date and Sarah did not mention it or any date for her decision.
Greta essentially apologized to Sarah for asking her again and Sarah responded she is still discussing with her family and looking at all aspects. But with a broad smile said she is enjoying setting the agenda and giving the other candidates points to discuss.
I think she did bring up a good point in that he’s generally so against govt involvement and control and mandates, always strongly for the individual. Yet, in this one case he went against his instincts and history and was on the side of more state control. What was it in this one instance that caused the change of heart.
When he said he was offended, Bachmann should have said “Ok, Governor, so are you saying $10,000 wouldn’t have offended you? $100,000?”
Perry made it seem like he wasn’t disputing the notion he could be bought, just that it would take a heck of a lot more than a mere five grand.
But on the whole this is really a side issue. We have 14,000,000 unemployed. Who gives a you know what about some vaccine mandate that didn’t even pass and that happened 5 years ago?
Maybe you missed Gretta, but Sarah basically skewered Perry over this. She said her comments are in her 25,000 email release at the time

Romneycare is a law on the books, what Bachman said was an unfounded allegation. If Perry did break a law then he should be convicted, but Bachman should’t just throw out allegations. That’s the difference.

Romney, She will neutralize him with old boy club, crony capitalism, Romney Care, Wall Street etc...

So that would be considered an opt out? Like the opt out that Perry put in place? Just wonder if those parents who would opt out are held responsible if their decision results in the death of their child?
Just a thought. A 12 year old girl can get an abortion without parental notice but there is public hysteria over a vaccine with a parental opt out clause. Get real people.

Me too, I’ve never been a Newt fan but he has some great points. One, like Sarah, the MSM has already thrown everything possible at him so we don’t have to worry about any surprises. Also, he’s positive, quick on his feet, and unafraid of saying the wrong thing.
Makes me go “Hmmmmmm....”
