I wonder how many people are really upset with the Gardisil vaccine issue because they think we shouldn’t have to pay for vaccines for sexually transmitted diseases.
Late to the party here, and slowly reading through the comments: Yet, oddly, they have no problem with paying the astronomical costs associated with treating patients with cancer.

‘certain number of cranks who won’t get a shot....’

Well, meet this stupid crank.
And my extended family who has not vaccinated for years. This is nothing new with us. It goes back to the 1970’s.
But we take responsibiity/measures for keeping healthy.

You maybe have not heard a reasonable discussion from the ‘other side’ of any vaccine issue.
Consider how fluoridating water now has had a bad report - thank God. We’d been yelling about it for years. Thought we were heading for possibly having other ‘medicines’ dropped in the water - hey, why not?? Even as states mandate that public drinking water must safe for all, fluoridating it, is NOT. And not just for those who already had certain diseases, but ‘they’ are now admitting it causes teeth to brown, etc!
Neither are vaccines safe for all.
We don’t care to have ANY of that junk put directly into our system.

Advancing sanitation, hygiene, and good nutrition (boosting the immune system), had a huge effect in eradicating diseases.
But are they truly erradicated? Diseases may have cycles, sort of like globull warming, and cooling - - -

When one is poked directly in the closed bloodstream with all kinds of junk in the vaccine, no telling what the body may do with that trauma. Well, we know what has happened to some. Some pets have not fared well, either.
And while they were/are looking at an autism/vaccine connection, other negative results were ignored.

Thimerisol is/was not the only awful additive. Some doctors continued using the vaccine with thimersol if he/she had quantities in their cupboard.
Also, there’s been times when vaccines have not been tested thoroughly - for safety and effectiveness.
It’s been said that while we’re ‘tricking’ the immune system with vaccines - well, the immune system may ‘trick’ back, and not for the better.

We feel really bad for those areas that may not have an opt-out for ANY vaccine - actually hope that doesn’t exist.
I recently saw an ad for a ‘health’ agency that was advertising you could go to them for the whooping cough vaccine booster. Their ad in the local paper screamed ‘NO SHOT NO SCHOOL.’ And it mentioned an elementary school. I called that school and asked if that was true. The receptionist said no, there is a form one can sign to opt out. She said some have - good.
How dam_ dishonest was that ad for all to read! Makes me boil.

Signed, An Informed Crank

Tx...all your verbage fails to mention the facts that Perry is quite well known for being a “pay to play” man. It’s not a secret or something which has to be found out. It simply is. Therefore Bachmans statements referring to that end is not far fetched....

Further you have attempted to elevate Perry supporters as ONLY those who have “reasoning abilities”....that is carrying the liberal mantra of the elitist mindset.

Many Freepers, who do not support your candidate, are certainly more than capable of “reasoning”’re apparently confused about those wo have elected to believe other “facts” then the ones Perry supporters present....and that’s his history of “pay to play”.

So yes, of course if the price is right Perry will be bought.....and he is not alone in doing so.

Yes I agree. But She is not on the stage...yet. Of the people who are... the only one who looks like he can handle things is Newt. Scary.

I would love to vote for Sarah if she runs for president.
If she's planning to jump on romney's train though, I'm not sure I'll feel the same way.

Meanwhile I won't vote for newt.
Yes he's very well spoken. But so was obama. No thank you.

Thanks,MG, I just didn’t make the JD Hayworth connection. You being much more closer to the situation, make a good point.

McCain pulled his once-every-6-year-trick of running as a conservative and fooling Arizonians once again.

I felt that Sarah should not have helped Juan, as she owes him NOTHING after how he treated her both during and after the 2008 election.

I didn’t know about JD personal situation—I’m here in DE and lamost witnessed the same thing about Christine O’Donnell. The long knives were out for her too, especially from the RINOs here. They have since been ousted from leadership here, and Christine has bounced back.

Yet, oddly, they have no problem with paying the astronomical costs associated with treating patients with cancer.

(1) Warts are not a leading cause of cancer. Not even close to be a major cause. The costs are not astronomical.

(2) Unlike Brit-sphere we chavs here do NOT have socialized medicine.

Well done, “conservatives”.

We have a man in the White House intent on destroying the economy and here we are, once again, in the circular firing squad.

The liberals are LOVING this. They don’t need to defend 9% unemployment, debt out of control, czars and everything else, all they need to do is point at “that” conservative, whoever she or he may be and say SEE? they’re bad, they did something 10, 15, 20 years ago that proves they can’t be president.

Why are we doing this? WHY?

Gardasil is not the equivalent of other childhood vaccinations.

“In the clinical studies alone, 23 girls died after receiving either Gardasil or the Aluminum control injection. 15 of the 13,686 girls who received Gardasil died, while 8 died among the 11,004 who received the Aluminum shot. There was only one death among the group that had a saline placebo. What this means is that 1 out of every 912 girls in the Gardasil clinical studies died. (9, see page 8.) The cervical cancer death rate is 1 out of every 40,000 women per year.10”

We weren[t as lucky here. $20 million buys you a lot of power and people that when you pay that much money the people you buy stay bought. She also helped him raise a lot of money. I thought she would make sure the conservative she took out would be taken care of, a job would be found, but nope. She did not lift a finger and she had to know what McCain did. Like I said, he didn’t defeat him, he destroyed him.

But you can’t put a fence up in the middle of the Rio Grande river.

Like I said, we can build a bridge connecting the Keys, we can build a bridge to connect two peninsulas in Michigan, we can build a dam to hold back millions of gallons of water... but we CAN'T build a fence in the middle of a river!?!?!!?

We have some of the best engineering minds in the world in the USA. I'm about what's possible, and know there's nothing Americans can't do if they set their mind to it.

So you stay in your world of can't. I want no part of anyone or anything that is tantamount to giving up.

Sorry, Charlie. You're dead wrong. When the government decides what it thinks is best for my child, that infringes on my rights as a parent. But you keep supporting nanny state legislation. Every single candidate who went after Perry last night was right to do so.

It was a pretty telling revelation that Gov. Sarah Palin was also approached by Merck about gardasil and she said hell no.

We pay for Gardasil and it’s equivalents here as a discretionary vaccine, not covered by either the NHS or private medical insurance, so a clear swing and miss on that score.

“Warts are not a leading cause of cancer” - I quote from your very own CDC, who might know a wee bit more about it than you or I:
50% of sexually active adults will be infected with HPV at some time in their lives,

Cervical cancer: The most common HPV-associated cancer. Almost all cervical cancer is caused by HPV. - from

If you don’t want to get your child vaccinated, don’t. I personally am going to call you a shitty parent/grandparent for that call, as anyone your children have sex with - and they are going to at some stage no matter how much you hate the thought - can be infected without knowing it.

You don’t like the government telling you what to do. Fine, who does. Opt out, if it affects you. But stop blowing smoke and mirrors about a fairly easily preventable killer disease.

Oh ok. So you're claim about the majority of Texans being ok with it is false. Gotcha.

Not my business? Bullsh!t. Illegals are EVERYONE's business. You act like Texas is this perfect place. Well honey, it isn't. Texas is one of three states that's shown an increase in illegals. And if you read the fine print of that 'wonderful' in state tuition bill, you'd know that illegals 'may be eligible for state aid'- which is a fancy way of saying free stuff for illegals out of the pockets of tax-paying Texans. And when Perry wants to bring such a shining example of illegal immigration success to the White House?

You can damn well bet I'm going to fight against it with everything I've got.

Well, Texas, Arizona and California had a HUGE increase in illegals thanks to GW Bush and you not only supported him, you ran the thread. So, you have your own part in the increase in illegals.

It's still a states rights issue and none of your business. Clean up your own house before you go spitting on others.

I've been fighting illegals on the front lines a LOT longer then you have and have absolutely NO love for them, but Texans get to decide what they want to do, the Constitution grants them that power and if you spit on Texas for the 10th amendment you are part of the destruction of this country, not the solution.

“Those who pretend they support the Constitution and then try to say the 10th amendment doesn’t matter are LIARS.f you don’t support the Constitution then YOU belong in Mexico.”

Well let’s see now, Rick Perry was Ok with same sex marriage and Romney care before he was against them, ala 10th amendment. I find it amusing that you think it’s ok for Texas to charge more for an Arizonan to attend a Texas college or university than an illegal alien who is breaking our laws. Sort of a warped mentality making that a 10th amendment issue. You probably agree with CA and IL gun control laws too because that’s a 10th amendment issue.

Your governor has a better sense of the illegal issue than Rick does and she’s just trying to enforce federal laws already on the books, not evade them. It’s a sad state of affairs when Romney is better on the wetback issue than Perry is.

I’m sorry, I should have called him Goodhair like I’ve done in numerous posts in the past. But next time focus on the substance of what I said regarding his performance on the gardasil issue. Also, if that knocked you off kilter, you either don’t participate on here very often, or you are too invested in Rick Perry.

If you follow the threads, you may note that I’ve recently said Perry was my second choice after Palin. I’m having second thoughts about that after his performance last nite on several issues.

Surely, you have seen people taking shots at Palin. Wake up!

His admitting that he couldn’t be bought for a measly $5k was maybe a mite too telling.

Stop spinning everything to bash Perry.

His response to Bachmann was meant to be that he was offended by her assertions that he was paid by Merck to try to help prevent HVP by vaccinating kids who were hopefully pre-sexually active. .....As an earlier poster here indicated, Alaska has also recommended the Guardasil.

MY governor is a McCain RINO and everyone here fell all over her just because she signed something the legislature gave her! And yes, I have no problem with states passing laws. If you don't like it, you move to a state that is more to your liking or you elect people who will reverse those laws.

Simple fact is, Texans decided they wanted this, if they decide they don't want it they'll reverse it.

It's pointless to argue with someone, like you, who takes what is said and twists it into an absolute (and a straw man argument) just like every liberal I have ever known.

If you can't hold a fact based discussion, what's the point?

Regardless of your emotional rant, the fact is, we live in a republic, not a democracy and we have "legislative" representatives whom we elect and charge with the task of evaluating and passing our laws. Apparently, that simple concept is beyond your ken.

You may have already been infected by a brain eating amoeba judging by the logic and bad-mouthing of that post. HPV causes warts, finger warts, nose warts, genital warts. HPV rarely causes cancer, nor does anything you posted say otherwise.

Almost all cervical cancer is associated with warts, yes, just as nearly of a few deadly skin cancers initiate at skin warts elsewhere on the body.

Of you get a wart does that mean you are dieing of cancer? NO! Because cancers rarely form from warts, most warts — caused by HPV — are benign.

Does it make you a “shitty” (your word) parent for NOT knowing that? Maybe.

Stop the spinning.

The granting of in-state tuition is only given to the illegals that have attended at least three years of public schooling and graduated from high school. Those people, if eligible to enter a college or university by their grades, STILL have to pay their tuition.

Twenty years ago Rubio called the office of Ileana ros Lehtinen and asked for work.

Her aides told him "we have no money to hire you". He said, "I will work for free."

The aid said, "in that case come on down!"

The rest as they say, is history.

He presided over the Fla Senate where he made his reputation as a super hard worker and consensus builder while maintaining conservative values.

His fight against Metro charlie Crist is legendary and almost Reaganesque. He knocked a sitting Governor out of the box and is now our proud Senator from Fla.

Being around the guy was awe inspiring for me. We(The Republican Executive Committee for the Keys) introduced him as the future President of the U.S. for his speech and it too was awesome.

You analyzed the candidates’ “looks”.

Every person you listed is a declared candidate - except for Palin.

Why that inconsistency?

What Palin is, is a commentator for Fox News. Among many other things she is, of course...not limiting it to that.

Fox News has told her she can’t be a candidate and work for them at the same time. Always she has given them the same answer...she is thinking about running but has not decided.

Texas has decided that the kids who are going to school and want to be citizens should have the chance to do it. That’s their choice since the feds won’t do anything to help the situation.

These "kids" are illegal aliens who should not be provided with any taxpayer money, federal or state. There are over 4 million intending immigrants waiting their turn to enter the US. They have gone through all of the paperwork, including background checks and medical examinations. Many are children. They want to be citizens only they did it the legal way.

Plyler vs Doe forced us to accept illegals in K-12. It is bankrupting many schools and diminishing the quality of education. Texas is almost at the bottom of school performance levels, primarily due to the influx of illegals, most of whom speak little English.

There is a strong movement in Texas to repeal in-state tuition. Any time it is placed on the ballot, it loses. MD just passed in-state tuition thru its heavily Dem dominated legislature. Even in this very blue state, a popular, grassroots movement has placed it on the ballot in 2012 despite fierce opposition from La Raza and the ACLU. I bet the people vote it down. And if it were placed on the ballot in Texas it would be voted down.

I disliked Perry's response last night when he talked about people not liking other people's last names as the reason for their opposition to in-state tuition. It was shameless pandering and slandering. Perry is generous with other people's money. He spent most of his polticial life as a Dem. He will support an amnesty if he gets into the WH because he is under the delusion that it will get the Hispanic vote.

That is false.

The hell it is Charles.

I quoted the executive order issued by Perry.

Here it is: Executive Order RP65

Check parental rights. The language is exactly as I quoted.

It SHOULDN’T go away soon. I believe this needs to be looked at and considered. Sarah Palin’s accepting the federal mandate in Alaska by taking tax money for Gardisil needs to be looked and considered. All the other things that were not good decisions by any of these politicians need to be looked at and considered. Then we go on. And THEN... we can expect it all to come around again during the general election and in theme and variation from now until eternity. Why shouldn’t we expect Rick Perry to get his vetting now on this? Surely you didn’t think the world was going to rock because a major politician was getting scrutinized. Vetting happens every day in real politics. Get over the drama, and get a life.

Does that count as “pandemic”, or is that “rare and isolated”?

4000 women succumb to cervical cancer in a year Charles. 70% of those are related to HPV meaning 2800 women in America die from HPV related cervical cancer. More kids die from drowning. I note that you would be put your kids in lifevests every time they enter the water. Your right as a parent to do so without having to opt out or in. Here's some unsolicited advice though, teach them to swim.

You might also lock them in the basement since skin cancer kills 3 times as many Americans as HPV related cervical cancer. The point is to save lives, right Charles?

Let’s try to unravel this point you made. Some of it is correct, some incorrect.

Yes, the border between Texas and Mexico is the Rio Grande River.

No, a fence is not built along the official border line...

It couldn’t be, number one, and people do get that.

The common border is common to both countries...the line has Texas and Mexico interests up and down its entire length. Neither country would have the right to build a fence along the exact common border with the other.

This is true even if the line is not down the middle of a river.

A border fence is a barrier you put up for a defensive reason. Where you place it is the closest to the border you can but as far away as needed to build it where it makes sense for your purpose.

The fence for a certain number of miles in the San Diego area.

Other examples, I’m sure.

I'm not so sure facial expressions are a valid representation of what or who the candidate is.

If you go there just watch Bachman. She seldom if ever glances at any of the other candidates when they speak.Does that mean anything?I don't know. It may be a stretch.

Chances are good if we can put men on the moon we can probably tackle a border fence. If nothing else we can just copy what the Israelis have done. That ended 99% of their suicide bombings.
