I wonder how many people are really upset with the Gardisil vaccine issue because they think we shouldn’t have to pay for vaccines for sexually transmitted diseases.
Late to the party here, and slowly reading through the comments: Yet, oddly, they have no problem with paying the astronomical costs associated with treating patients with cancer.

‘certain number of cranks who won’t get a shot....’

Well, meet this stupid crank.
And my extended family who has not vaccinated for years. This is nothing new with us. It goes back to the 1970’s.
But we take responsibiity/measures for keeping healthy.

You maybe have not heard a reasonable discussion from the ‘other side’ of any vaccine issue.
Consider how fluoridating water now has had a bad report - thank God. We’d been yelling about it for years. Thought we were heading for possibly having other ‘medicines’ dropped in the water - hey, why not?? Even as states mandate that public drinking water must safe for all, fluoridating it, is NOT. And not just for those who already had certain diseases, but ‘they’ are now admitting it causes teeth to brown, etc!
Neither are vaccines safe for all.
We don’t care to have ANY of that junk put directly into our system.

Advancing sanitation, hygiene, and good nutrition (boosting the immune system), had a huge effect in eradicating diseases.
But are they truly erradicated? Diseases may have cycles, sort of like globull warming, and cooling - - -

When one is poked directly in the closed bloodstream with all kinds of junk in the vaccine, no telling what the body may do with that trauma. Well, we know what has happened to some. Some pets have not fared well, either.
And while they were/are looking at an autism/vaccine connection, other negative results were ignored.

Thimerisol is/was not the only awful additive. Some doctors continued using the vaccine with thimersol if he/she had quantities in their cupboard.
Also, there’s been times when vaccines have not been tested thoroughly - for safety and effectiveness.
It’s been said that while we’re ‘tricking’ the immune system with vaccines - well, the immune system may ‘trick’ back, and not for the better.

We feel really bad for those areas that may not have an opt-out for ANY vaccine - actually hope that doesn’t exist.
I recently saw an ad for a ‘health’ agency that was advertising you could go to them for the whooping cough vaccine booster. Their ad in the local paper screamed ‘NO SHOT NO SCHOOL.’ And it mentioned an elementary school. I called that school and asked if that was true. The receptionist said no, there is a form one can sign to opt out. She said some have - good.
How dam_ dishonest was that ad for all to read! Makes me boil.

Signed, An Informed Crank

Tx...all your verbage fails to mention the facts that Perry is quite well known for being a “pay to play” man. It’s not a secret or something which has to be found out. It simply is. Therefore Bachmans statements referring to that end is not far fetched....

Further you have attempted to elevate Perry supporters as ONLY those who have “reasoning abilities”....that is carrying the liberal mantra of the elitist mindset.

Many Freepers, who do not support your candidate, are certainly more than capable of “reasoning”....you’re apparently confused about those wo have elected to believe other “facts” then the ones Perry supporters present....and that’s his history of “pay to play”.

So yes, of course if the price is right Perry will be bought.....and he is not alone in doing so.

Yes I agree. But She is not on the stage...yet. Of the people who are... the only one who looks like he can handle things is Newt. Scary.

I would love to vote for Sarah if she runs for president.
If she's planning to jump on romney's train though, I'm not sure I'll feel the same way.

Meanwhile I won't vote for newt.
Yes he's very well spoken. But so was obama. No thank you.

Thanks,MG, I just didn’t make the JD Hayworth connection. You being much more closer to the situation, make a good point.

McCain pulled his once-every-6-year-trick of running as a conservative and fooling Arizonians once again.

I felt that Sarah should not have helped Juan, as she owes him NOTHING after how he treated her both during and after the 2008 election.

I didn’t know about JD personal situation—I’m here in DE and lamost witnessed the same thing about Christine O’Donnell. The long knives were out for her too, especially from the RINOs here. They have since been ousted from leadership here, and Christine has bounced back.

Yet, oddly, they have no problem with paying the astronomical costs associated with treating patients with cancer.

(1) Warts are not a leading cause of cancer. Not even close to be a major cause. The costs are not astronomical.

(2) Unlike Brit-sphere we chavs here do NOT have socialized medicine.

Well done, “conservatives”.

We have a man in the White House intent on destroying the economy and here we are, once again, in the circular firing squad.

The liberals are LOVING this. They don’t need to defend 9% unemployment, debt out of control, czars and everything else, all they need to do is point at “that” conservative, whoever she or he may be and say SEE? they’re bad, they did something 10, 15, 20 years ago that proves they can’t be president.

Why are we doing this? WHY?

Yep.

Bristol Palin is just the sort of young girl Perry’s EO was designed to protect. Sexually active as a young girl with a sleazy guy.

Why you want to dismiss this as a beaten horse rather than a sign of a non conservative doing something as a nanny stater is beyond comprehension.

I've led the horse to the water if he decides to die of thirst then it is his fault.

Gardasil is not the equivalent of other childhood vaccinations.

http://www.cogforlife.org/gardasilMerckAdmits.htm

“In the clinical studies alone, 23 girls died after receiving either Gardasil or the Aluminum control injection. 15 of the 13,686 girls who received Gardasil died, while 8 died among the 11,004 who received the Aluminum shot. There was only one death among the group that had a saline placebo. What this means is that 1 out of every 912 girls in the Gardasil clinical studies died. (9, see page 8.) The cervical cancer death rate is 1 out of every 40,000 women per year.10”

We weren[t as lucky here. $20 million buys you a lot of power and people that when you pay that much money the people you buy stay bought. She also helped him raise a lot of money. I thought she would make sure the conservative she took out would be taken care of, a job would be found, but nope. She did not lift a finger and she had to know what McCain did. Like I said, he didn’t defeat him, he destroyed him.

But you can’t put a fence up in the middle of the Rio Grande river.

Like I said, we can build a bridge connecting the Keys, we can build a bridge to connect two peninsulas in Michigan, we can build a dam to hold back millions of gallons of water... but we CAN'T build a fence in the middle of a river!?!?!!?

We have some of the best engineering minds in the world in the USA. I'm about what's possible, and know there's nothing Americans can't do if they set their mind to it.

So you stay in your world of can't. I want no part of anyone or anything that is tantamount to giving up.

Sorry, Charlie. You're dead wrong. When the government decides what it thinks is best for my child, that infringes on my rights as a parent. But you keep supporting nanny state legislation. Every single candidate who went after Perry last night was right to do so.

It was a pretty telling revelation that Gov. Sarah Palin was also approached by Merck about gardasil and she said hell no.

We pay for Gardasil and it’s equivalents here as a discretionary vaccine, not covered by either the NHS or private medical insurance, so a clear swing and miss on that score.

“Warts are not a leading cause of cancer” - I quote from your very own CDC, who might know a wee bit more about it than you or I:
50% of sexually active adults will be infected with HPV at some time in their lives,

and

Cervical cancer: The most common HPV-associated cancer. Almost all cervical cancer is caused by HPV. - from http://www.cdc.gov/hpv/cancer.html

If you don’t want to get your child vaccinated, don’t. I personally am going to call you a shitty parent/grandparent for that call, as anyone your children have sex with - and they are going to at some stage no matter how much you hate the thought - can be infected without knowing it.

You don’t like the government telling you what to do. Fine, who does. Opt out, if it affects you. But stop blowing smoke and mirrors about a fairly easily preventable killer disease.

Oh ok. So you're claim about the majority of Texans being ok with it is false. Gotcha.

Not my business? Bullsh!t. Illegals are EVERYONE's business. You act like Texas is this perfect place. Well honey, it isn't. Texas is one of three states that's shown an increase in illegals. And if you read the fine print of that 'wonderful' in state tuition bill, you'd know that illegals 'may be eligible for state aid'- which is a fancy way of saying free stuff for illegals out of the pockets of tax-paying Texans. And when Perry wants to bring such a shining example of illegal immigration success to the White House?

You can damn well bet I'm going to fight against it with everything I've got.

Well, Texas, Arizona and California had a HUGE increase in illegals thanks to GW Bush and you not only supported him, you ran the thread. So, you have your own part in the increase in illegals.

It's still a states rights issue and none of your business. Clean up your own house before you go spitting on others.

I've been fighting illegals on the front lines a LOT longer then you have and have absolutely NO love for them, but Texans get to decide what they want to do, the Constitution grants them that power and if you spit on Texas for the 10th amendment you are part of the destruction of this country, not the solution.

But yet when Obama gaffe’s big time (most recently in his propaganda state of the union speech about who was the republican founding father the media covers it up for him.It is all okay that he is a big lying idiot.

And BTW who were the idiots that cheered for the 30 year old dead guy in ICU with no health insurance in the audience? The witch DNC chair is already using it as a talking point that the tea party is whacked.
