“If Palin thinks she would make a better president than this group, she should make a decision to run. Instead she is just happy taking pot shots at the front runners.

I have less and less respect for her as each day goes by. Either announce and join the fray or shut up.

She’s becoming annoying. “

What he said!!

And some pro Palin people are sounding more like “followers” than supporters or a better word might be “worship”. I don’t mean everyone of course but too many for me frankly. It’s getting a little creepy.

“However, isn’t the impropriety that Perry took money from Merck”

There’s nothing wrong with taking money from merck or any other company. We don’t believe in mcCain-Feingold

Sarah came in to rescue Peery in the Primary because he was against KB Hutchinson, and that wacko right winger, and was going to lose. She saved his bacon and then with the Sarah led win he went on to win the General.

He told voters in Texas that he would not run for the Presidency, and only 6 months after winning the Governorship he started running for President.

They shared the disdain of Hutchison and the Bushes, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. She knows he does not keep his word.

The eleventh commandment has nothing to do with bringing out the issues, and making the candidates sit up and take notice, and tell what their policy would be,or explain perceived wrong doing. You know the collective DemocRATS and Soros types, and Unions will be vetting.

Well, for starters, Merck is the leading donor to the “Women in Government,” a Republican group Palin is a part of...or was, I don’t know if she is now. Look, I’m not going to defend our campain finance and lobbying practices in this country. We all know they stink. But lets not be hypocritical. You can’t be a governor, senator, or president, without big contributors that are going to try — TRY — to buy influence. This gardasil thing is so stupid. Everyone is acting like RICK PERRY thought up this dasterdly plan to get $5000 from Merck. It’s absolutely STUPID. It was a federal program, all states were involved in it and some, to this day, mandate its use. But NOT IN TEXAS!

oh my goodness...he helped protect poor kids from getting cancer. So terrible. Folks, this is not an issue.

NO the federal government (US) paid for poor kids to get the vaccine. IT was the people with insurance that insurance companies were NOT covering that got the mandate. IT was Governor Perry executing a tax increase without seeking the citizens representation. Kinda like Obamacare, government will force US to pay for what gets decided to be good for US.

That’s not crony capitalism! Crony capitalism is the incestuous relationship between business and government. How does Palin’s writing/selling books and campaigning for McCain equate with crony capitalism? It would only work if her book publisher got special access to the current Alaskan governor because of Palin’s “lobbying” for them or they got special access to McCain for the same thing. Certainly you can object to her campaigning for McCain but it’s not crony capitalism.

U R rong!

In United States law and politics, unfunded mandates are regulations or conditions for receiving grants that impose costs on state or local governments or private entities for which they are not reimbursed by the federal government.
Any one of many federal legislations such as the Clean Air Act, and the Clean Water Act that require programs to be sponsored by the governments of the states, without providing any funds for those programs.
The provisions in the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act that require nearly all American emergency rooms to accept and stabilize any patient regardless of the patient’s ability to pay, but do not provide adequate reimbursement for indigent patients.

Thanks. Did taking the federal money for the program in Alaska obligate Alaska to the federal mandate / federal requirement for vaccinating the girls then? If so, that gave the parents absolutely no rights at all! I think that is what you pointed out, but I just wanted to clarify what I thought you said.

What tax increase would that be? Perry had to raise taxes (we don’t have income tax here and our sales tax didn’t go up) so that INSURANCE would pay for the vaccine? Sounds to me like if insurance pays....there would be NO NEED for increased taxes to...pay for....the vaccine.....

There is no question here that the government funded the mandates. You’re looking at this backwards. Alaska accepted the funds, therefore accepted the program....the mandate.

Sorry. She called out Perry as corrupt without any real evidence. Far different than issues.

it was a political payback. It reeks of the same corruption that she is condemning. She's supposed to be the tea party leader and she gives a payback to McCain by endorsing him over the tea party favorite.

She's certainly no better than Perry. Perry did not profit personally for his decision. Palin made millions because McCain made her a household name.

Did you know she supported TARP?

Ah, any mandate put on any business is NOT paid for by the business but paid for by the consumer. You think oil companies pay out of their pockets for gas taxes.

Those insurance companies had to absorb the cost of that mandate, and the only way that is possible is to pass that cost out to their customers. That is another 'crony' in 'capitalism' because the literal tax/mandate becomes hidden as cost of doing business.

Look how many taxes a telephone company collects, all mandated by government.

And yet, there’s that whole “special access cuz I was his chief of staff” thing. Bet that’s worth more to a company than a tax deductible donation! Look what that kind of revolving door has done to the mortgage & financial industries.

JD was a terrible candidate, and you know that. He alienated the AZ constituency with his anti illegal/anti Hispanic diatribes on talk radio, then he got into money problems. We loved to see JD on Fox and we loved to hear his rantings, but that does not work if you want to win elections. He had lost his last CD election.

We knew that Mccain would win,and without him we would have lost that seat. I wish McCain would retire, but that won't happen.

Sarah backed McCain long before JD got in the race.

You’re grasping there, Just. But I’ve got to go to bed so I’ll leave you with the floor and the “win.” Sleep well, and remember, Palin is still a good person, as is Perry. Nite!

Explain away her support of the TARP bailout. That was the mother of all crony capitalism.

NO I am not grasping. IT is a fact that any mandate/tax on any business gets passed on to the consumers of that business. Government has gotten really good at hiding its means and methods of taxation. goodnight
