I heard on my local news update, Perry in Iowa... And my mind went blank when he in the longest Texas drawl I have ever heard ask whomever he was speaking to, to ‘trust me’. My mind immediately went to that Disney movie Jungle Book... I could almost visualize those hypnotic moving circles.

If she does announce it will tear the party apart and this forum as well.

I agree.

If she doesn’t announce, imo, the numbers of the purists will dwindle to an insignificant amount.

I hope you're right. We need to win this election.

Fine.

You seemed to be advocating an “everyone MUST” policy. At least the opt-outs are sort of self-selecting. Lazy parents will just go along with vaccinations, and in many cases, they are producing the children that need shots such as the HPV shot.

If free healthcare will prevent the deaths of American men, women AND children, then it is our solemn duty as AMERICANS to make sure they get healthcare, regardless of ability to pay.....
You agree? Cause that’s basically what your saying. Same logic.

Thank you DrewsMum. I don’t think they see the parallels. But we do. :-)

Sorry. Traveling today. Wasn’t ignoring you.

No, this isn’t a simple ping list. The posse call occurs when you’re in the middle of a conversation and the other person wants a chorus to back up his point of view. And, by the way, I now have a number of pings from the chorus to answer... nearly all on the same subject and most seem to simply pile on by pinging me to some speculation on my motives or thought patterns.

Once again... annoying.

Maybe this is really about trying to discredit the arguments of someone you disagree with and silence debate.

Maybe it's about the fact that the posse takes on the role of attack dog with speculative arguments and aspersions. Just look at the number of pings I have now that are from the posse and completely off topic. I'm no longer having a conversation with P-Marlowe... I'm talking to his posse.

Again... annoying.

If obama pulls off an FDR and gets reelected the purists are the ones to blame.

This gets so tiresome... we're in the primaries! This is the time to vet the candidates. If there are skeletons in the closet, I'd rather know now than after the convention. I don't know any of the candidates personally, so all I have to go by is what others uncover.

This is the time to be a purist and pull for your best candidate. We can rally around the "lesser of two evils" later.

Who is the best candidate?

I didn't say THE best, I said YOUR best candidate. This is the time for advocating for your choice and uncovering the warts... better now than later. I prefer Gov Palin over the current field but will take Gov Perry among the announced. That doesn't mean I won't be critical of my own horse in this race, though. If my horse is likely to pull up lame in the big race, I want to find out now.

I'm very wary of those who are so committed they will excuse anything at this stage.
