I think Perry has it in the bag as well, the structure of the primaries and all, but that is one unflattering picture of Rick Perry. Figures the rag would give him the unflattering light, while the Obamas’ pics are airbrushed.
These liberal rags always do this to Repubs. Try and make them look scary/old/weird/etc. I don’t know why they don’t demand approval of the images.

Playing with pix is what Time and Newsweek do. Nothing new here. BUT, I will say that this pic makes Perry look like a real man, vs their favored metrosexual.
